I've "gotten out of the friend zone" before in the sense that a girl I liked went from just wanting to be my friend to actually liking me and dating me.

There isn't really anything you can actively do about it. If a person wants to date you then they do and if they don't, they don't.

She told me the reason she warmed up to me was because we had a lot of time to learn about each other and bond while just being friends. Also when she rejected me it put a lot of pressure off of every situation. I didn't have anything to lose so I could just be myself and open up more, which she found attractive. She also liked that I actually did become her friend instead of just losing complete interest like guys usually do. She said it showed that I cared about her as a person whether I was dating her or not.


Honestly my best advice would be to just accept it and try to move on while actually taking them up on the offer of just being friends. There's no downside to that.
