The morning sun shines through the window, and rouses you from your sleep.
Last night was awful; you kept having nightmares about demons, and then fighting, and then about that stupid musclehead who decided to visit. Yuck, You hate it; You hate all of it.

You just wish all of it would leave your kingdom for good and let you sleep peacefully.

You are Yuuki Kuschinashi, and you're the mighty heroine of Bruschetta. That's what you tell yourself, and it's how ytou manage to get by day after day with your head only slightly above water.
It's not a shame to admit that you've been struggling to keep up. Almost every one of your peers have been rapidly increasing in power while you are either being useless, getting kidnapped, or tagging along with someone else who is doing something useful.

It sucks.

You roll over in bed, and notice a distinct lack of bunny-ears by your side.
Anna must have woke up early and decided to go for a walk. She always loves her early morning strolls, and you love accompanying her.

You love accompanying her when you're feeling in much brighter spirits. The kind of spirits that would implore you to awake an hour before Anna and practice your forms before the sun peaks above the horizon.

It's an amazing feeling, when you have those high spirits.

Yesterday, you found the man who lived in the mountains which Jack spoke of. A really big, burly guy named 'Atlas'.
Really, finding this Atlas guy has been one of the worst things you have felt as a hero. He's so powerful, and he can do everything that you can't, and he knows all these secrets that you don't know and-

You bolt upwards, and hit the bed with both of your fists. Just THINKING about how much better and powerful he is makes you sick. Then your mind wanders over to Jack throwing you out of the airship, and you feel even MORE bitter!

You didn't want to say it to Jack yesterday, but the reason you were mad at him for throwing you off the airship had nothing to do with the action of the matter. It was entirely because he just assumed you would survive the fall.
Like, being thrown from hundreds of feet in the air was so natural to him that he just assumed you were able to survive the fall. Or that you're clever enough to come up with some crazy plan to make it to the ground unscathed.

"Well I'm NOT!" You yell to nobody.

You roll out of bed, and take your time getting dressed. The few minutes that you concentrate on making yourself look pretty feels like the only time you're free from your thoughts.

Jack is leaving today, if he hasn't left already. You're going to be 'escorting' a merchant caravan to Biscotti. The expected travel time is at least two days.
It's really just an excuse to not think about the hero thing for a short time.

>Go and try to find Jack or someone.
>Or- Go find Anna.
>Forget it, it's so late in the day that they're both probably busy.
>Time for morning training.
>Or just eating. You could eat the stress away.

This is a side Quest from: >>1129120

Jacob drops you off and waves goodbye, despite saying he'd only drive you the part way he drove you all the way to the coast. The moon hangs heavy in the rippling surface of the reservoir. Arthur knows where to go. You start feeling a sense of urgency and begin to pick up the pace slowly until you're running. The urgency changes to strange nausea.

This isn't right. You begin having a bizarre double vision as the vague vision-memory impressions begin conflicting. A strange noise fills your mind. You arrive at where the woman should have been.

Blood covers the sand. The sound is a clicking alien laughter. You are cut from the trance as you hear a sound like delicate china shattering, a raw scream of beauty breaking. You turn towards it and the forest, a chill crawls slowly down your spine. Inch by terrible inch.

First, post your full current character sheet. We will use its current form to prevent players from gaining skills on the fly specifically to deal with a current situation. (Also for my sanity)

Second, narrate your actions. If you think you need a roll for an action include one if I think you need one I'll let you know. This will be narration-heavy, and more like a traditional Quest.

Let's begin.

Bio: Gram hails from a famous, some say infamous, Knight family. While most Mage Knights hold themselves to a certain image of honor and respect, at least on the surface, the Rodericks have shown little and less care for typical "honor". While they fight with weapons and armor typical of knights, their combat style more closely resembles that of assassins. While technically Mage Knights, Roderick knights are nicknamed "Assassin Knights".

“You left her alive!?” Shouko’s voice shrieks out as it comes into volume.

“I wasn’t aiming to kill her on purpose.” John Doe replies as some shuffling of paperwork can be heard. “I only wished to ascertain her capabilities.”

“Ascer-” Chouko seems to choke over those words as fits slam down on the table. “You had the chance to kill her right there! Literally nothing was stopping you and you just let her walk away!?”

“Do I need to repeat myself?” John Doe asks.

“Did someone hit you up the side of the head a little too hard recently!? If there’s one thing I know about Hibiki is that she’s like a cockroach! Unless you verify her death then she WILL survive anything you throw at her before coming back to kill us!” Shouko roars out. “I barely managed to beat her the last time!”

“The abilities my superiors bestowed upon you do not guarantee victory, all it does is give you new tools, which exactly just how well they’re used is up to the owner themselves.” John Doe replies with an exasperated voice. “You are just angry as you expected to live out the revenge fantasy you harboured in your head for years yet are actually angry when it actually proves to the least be challenging.”

Several long seconds pass, only the sounds of a few papers being flipped heard. “If you want my advice, I suggest you don’t start throwing a tantrum when everything doesn’t go your w-”

Sounds of fluttering papers fill the room before another slam can be heard on the desk. “I refuse to listen to this! You and your kind work for me! I demand that you track down and Hibiki right this instant!”

A long pause fills the room before a chair sliding along the ground can be heard. “No, I do not work for you Shouko Junpaku. You’re new to this yourself, so let me make one thing clear to you. I work for the boss of your so called ‘patrons’, and I was given a very specific mission here that shockingly does not revolve around you. If you want to clarify such matters with him then I can make you an appointment, but know that my supervisors is far less forgiving than I am and is not afraid of pruning the ranks for those who waste his precious time. Are we clear?”

“Y-Yes.” Shouko stutters out in a meek and timid voice.

“Good. Now go crawl back to your tower. You’re not needed for the rest of this operation, so just spend whatever time you want in your hottub and let the adults do their work.” John Doe says before several pairs of footsteps can be heard. “You two, help me pick this up. I need to refile all this again...”

******

“I recorded with a remote recording drone at the military base.” Zanna says as the recording stops.

“We came to you guys because it seemed that your group are the ones who know both this John Doe and Shouko the best.” Alvin says as he sits down in a nearby chair, the cup of tea he’s holding appearing to be microscopic in comparison to himself in his armour.

“If you mean ‘know’ you mean ‘attempted to kill us several times’, then yes we do know them.” Mochire chides watching a mute TV program.

“It confirms the theory that I had of Shouko and John Doe working together, but such a possibility was already akin to 83.831 percent before.” Osvald replies after listening to the recording.

“I calculated 85.091 percent.” Zanna replies to Osvald.

“At least we have a better idea of who this John Doe is. He’s probably the right hand man of the Illuminati head or something similar to that.” Wendy replies.

“Those guys? Yea, they are. Anytime you encounter those guys it means you *definitely* got the attention of someone up above, and usually not in the good way.” Mochire replies. “If this John Doe is who he claims he is, then that means something must’ve really fucked up here on the island for him to be involved.”

“You mean us escaping wasn’t enough?” Wendy asks.

“I calculate a very high likelihood that John Doe is also here resolving other incidents occurring around the city, not all of them necessarily Alchemical related.” Osvald replies.

“Which would be what? Looters exactly? I’m not wholesale dismissing the idea, but the idea that something exists here on this island which nearly the full bulk of the military cannot handle to be somewhat skeptical.” Alvin says carefully putting down his cup of tea before turning towards you. “Hibiki, you’ve been silent throughout this entire conversation. Do you have any thoughts to add?”

Your attention snaps back towards the conversation happening in the room, your half distracted mind forming back into clarity once more.

- “I was thinking about my sister. It appears that she’s an outsider in this entire ordeal, just like the rest of us. For someone flaunting about how she’s in some sort of secret world order yet is still forbidding to leave makes me wonder what’s exactly going on here.”

- “John Doe is after me personally, but I’m not sure exactly why. I suspect it has something to do with being an Alchemical that Doctor Trine had serviced with a special interest in me as I was the first to have my programming altered.” (Tell the others about the reason why you think John Doe has an interest in you)

>What is this quest?

Alchemical Blade Prequel Quest, a quest set in the Modern version of Creation from the Exalted setting, focusing on how the robotic Alchemical Exalted came to be within the setting. If you love hints of Cyberpunk and high action quests, then you may enjoy this quest.

>Who are we?

The quest is mainly going to be played out in flashbacks, in which during the flashbacks we take control of the Moonsilver caste Alchemical Exalted Junpaku Hibiki, while in the current time you play as “Anonymous”. The game will take place within the city of Versino within the central continent of Creation Meruvia. Labelled as a dangerous and murderous science experiment gone rogue, you need to evade forces of the mightiest army within Creation sprinkled with the powerful Elemental supersoldiers known as the Dragonblooded, trying to find out who is responsible for what you’ve become and how to escape their clutches once and for all.

>Alchemical? Moonsilver? I don’t know anything about Exalted, much less Modern Exalted...

I’ve made this quest to be as friendly to newbies as possible, and I also see it as an introductory guide to the World of Modern Exalted. You can google “1d4chan Exalted” for information on the general vanilla setting, but what I’ll be using is the Modern Version of Exalted as shown in “Shards of the Exalted Dream” book, in where its Alchemicals are quite different than those of Vanilla Exalted. Feel free to ask any question about Exalted in the thread and I will do my best to answer it.

>Archive?

>System?

Dicepool system. When performing an action, everyone rolls a number of d10’s based on what the action is (I will list the pools for most actions, but if you want to have a roll for an action, ask and I’ll make the dicepool for it). The first roll is the one that’ll be used, but if someone makes another roll for a different action and more people vote for that, I’ll be using that one instead.

>This seems hella complicated, is there any way you can boil things down for me?

http://pastebin.com/NexXpPC1

>XP?

Favored Attributes cost 4 XP per dot to increase (Underlined on stat sheet when released) while non-favored ones cost 5 XP. Abilities themselves cost 3 XP per dot to increase naturally. All charms cost 6 XP per purchase with Dedicated slots costing 4 XP each and General ones costing 6 XP each. At the end of every “mission” (In game objectives set by either me or some goal the audience desires) you will be presented with a possible acquisition list of charms. Experience can also be gained by developing the character, learning about the world, or just in general things people find interesting.

The world was once whole. A battle ground for dozens of God's over the millions that lived. The faith of the mortals fed these great deities gave them strength to bend and change the physical world. The power burn city's split oceans and even blot out the sun. Each god had there own sect of power death nature ocean fire and through consuming other gods they gained more power.

But humans are fickle and so are there gods. Panthenons Grew and faded and some even claimed to be pantokrator ruler of God's. And for a time they were until they too faded.

Through these many cycles of God's a force slowly grew in power. One that wished to consume the world and all life within. Chaos in madness following the destruction of a pantokrator sundered the world into tens of thousands of pieces now floating in the either and feasted upon man and God alike.

You are one such god escaping death to the hands of chaos you took what little faith you had and threw yourself into the either. Drifting for centuries as all of exsistance slowly gave way to the entropy of chaos as you wasted away your small reserves of faith getting smaller and smaller.

But now a small spec in the distance calls to you a island floating in this dark abyss not yet taken by chaos. You direct yourself torward the island slowing remembering what you once were.

> who were you in the time before the sundering
> you remember you have great power. But what is it you have such power over

Welcome to Mischief Managed: A Marauders Era Quest. This quest takes place in the Harry Potter universe in the year 1971 and follows our PC’s years through Hogwarts, Tom Riddle’s rise to power, and the First Wizarding War. Book canon will be followed for most things. Every other year will be skipped, for times sake, but only while you’re in Hogwarts.

Something about James and Sirius’ reckless abandon is infectious. You nod your head excitedly, a grin forming. James and Sirius both return your grin and you watch as James levitates the stone above you. He only lifts it up just so that you all can barely peer out. “Looks clear, let's go.” you say, pushing the stone so that it floats up more. You’re the first to climb out, helping James and Sirius up as quickly and quietly that you can. You study the room you're in. There's various baking ingredients everywhere and the room smells distinctly sweet. All different types of candies are stored on shelves, packed away in their boxes. “We’ve got to be in Honeydukes.” you mumble to the Gryffindors. You feel a tap on your shoulder and you quickly turn around. James motions for you to stand near him as he takes out a silver material that moves like water. You give him a surprised look; that's an invisibility cloak. No wonder they rarely get caught.

James quickly throws the cloak over the three of you. You’re covered quite well and there's enough room so that you aren't all cramped together. “Alright,” James whispers, “let's get out of here.” You all move in complete silence, not talking in fear of being caught. You luckily make it out of the basement without incident. You make your way to the main shopping area of Honeydukes and you can't help but be blown away. The entire store is filled with all types of magical candies, from Drooble’s Best Blowing Gum to Acid Pop’s. The store wasn't that busy, with only a couple families walking around the shop. A old man sits at the front of the store, looking through some catalog. You shuffle yourselves to a part of the store with no one in it. “What's the plan James?” Sirius asks. “I’d say Zonko’s, but I left my gold in my suitcase.” James replies, sounding more than just a little bit sad.

You are Alexander Pallas of House Pallas, an ancient, struggling Rogue Trader dynasty that has now started to establish a demesne in the Veiled Regions, beginning by leveraging the Othhaw system away from the grasp of the heretical Collective into the Imperium. They did not take well to this, and dispatched their entire navy to reclaim the system.

It's been three days since you repulsed the forces of the Collective from the Othhaw system, having captured two of their eight ships. Most of the passing days have been spent on tour of Othhaw itself, celebrating your victory over the forces of the tyrannical Collective for the glory of the God-Emperor of Mankind. Your aides have been spending time interrogating the captured prisoners for information on the Collective's holdings.

Currently, you are in the mezzanine above the Hall of the Ancestors, enjoying a finely-aged Othhite drink made from a local fungus while looking at the painting of your great-great-great-great grandfather. One of your menial servitors has a stack of reports from the interrogations of the enemy ratings, neatly divided by topic.

The sky begins to turn a brighter blue and rays of light strat to break through the whispering tree branches and cool air. Below filling up the desolate road, is a horde of putrid corpses, dragging their way endlessly through the night. Behind them lies a ruined lab, now silent and filled with splattered gore, a broken down and demolished farm house. Trails of missing corpses adding to the swarm.
The Alpha pulls out the picture of the man it had found, unsure of his face or why it seems familiar, urging the horde forward, the Toxic and Feral rejuvinated with fresh mutations and meat filling their rotting guts. The Puker drools sizzling globs of thick hot saliva onto the tarmac, steaming in the morning air. The Brute and Armoured stomp alongside the horde towering over their cousins, while the stalker crawls amongst the wild brush, keeping pace while staying hidden. Ahead another road split

The sun sets, the sun rises, and for a certain young girl on the edge of a graveyard, that means it’s once again time to start studying. Her friends were tired from planting yesterday, and her sister had both literally and metaphorically flown the coop hours ago, leaving her and her pet rabbit to quietly turn the pages of a book about an owl who had lost his glasses.

“Owliver flew high… and he flew low…” Cici reads aloud, still struggling to make the process seem natural as she slowly pans over the page, “but no matter where he flew, he couldn’t find them…”

So the little owl searched the darkest caves and the highest aeries over the course of the day, looking for what was lost, only then finding an unexpected friend who not only helped him, but offered him a home.

“And so, Owliver and the wizard lived happily ever after…” Cici finishes. “The End.”

With care, Cici closes the book then, blinking in the bright light of the morning sun outside as she feels a warm breeze flow through the doorway.

[“Hello voices. What did you want to do today?”]

Let's get some physical conditioning in and do some basic magic exercises.
A strong body helps a strong mind.
And a strong mind leads to strong magic.

For any new players:

Welcome to Gorgon Child Quest! Where-in you take up the role of a magical talking artifact being wielded by a young gorgon girl named Cici. Living out of the remains of a once great dungeon, the game will focus on exploration, character interaction, and learning as the voices of the players within the amulet help guide her along.

You remember the idea you had last time you were in port, you need a shield. Grabbing you’re PDA, you load up the weapon dealer’s inventory and send off a request for a grade III shield. A receipt is embedded on your chit. That leaves 250 credits to your name. You’re going to have to pick it up, there’s not enough time for a delivery.

The station is a maze of circular corridors revolving around the central power plant. It’s rather large, being able to fit roughly 6,000 souls if you guessed right. You almost get lost before you find the weapon dealer’s stall. It’s operated by a pair of sarqs who give you your shield once you show proof of purchase. “Best be wary of slugs, that’ll only turn away 3 in 10 and not for long.” You nod at them, though you doubt they’d understand the gesture. One hour left before departure, you make it back to you ship.

It’s about the size of a small football, though flat and smooth. There’s anchors on the underside to attach to the small of your back or the backplate of a chestpiece. A switch is on the side with three settings: recharge, combat, off. The small info packet that came with it rates the recharge at roughly 5 minutes for a full charge when set to recharge. In combat it’ll recharge at 1/3 that speed and hold until deactivated. A disclaimer warns that continuous use over a 2-day period may cause overheating.

The ship is about to undock by the time you report to you station. Your console is becoming more and more familiar to the point that you’re confident you can handle it in an emergency. Adams has been fiddling with the reactor for the last week or so and is convinced he can find a way to improve it.

You’re ready when the warp warnings come. Space distorts and you don’t find yourself as nauseous as you used to. The next two hours are busy work, keeping the reactor cool. The ship parks in orbit after you slow enough to be captured and the crew gathers in the mess hall.

Captain Sarak gathers in front of the crowd. “Crew,” he announces, “we’ve been hired. One of the local governments is building for a war and that includes us. You’re welcome to leave if regimes mean nothing to you. If you’re indebted, considered it paid in full. You’ll be shuttled to the colony on the surface and I’m sure you can make your way from there. Dismissed.”

>Find Adams and Vasquez, talk to them about leaving

Character Sheet (Renexizious Only!): https://drive.google.com/open?id=1xgNKMzLUZS9L05DUCxmsvuYs-bGPIRpQsFv5k7oaBBk

Sorry about being dead, I had tons of work to do, now I should be good for a few weeks.

Last time on EDQ, Pragius and Claw were about to fight Vlad after taking care of most of the city, with Renexizious disappearing for a bit...

However, I think it's a good time to shift PoV's to another character. Charlemagne, to be specific.

Meanwhile, in Vietnam...

The candlelight near you flickers a bit as you look over some notes in your tent you've set up earlier... When the men started to complain about the heat, insects, that sort of thing...

So far your journey has been slow... You've been under Vietcong ambushes, not to mention avoiding traps, minefields, and other things... Though you have forgotten the biggest enemy of all... Disease and morale. You haven't been spared from this either... Getting rashes, joint pain, and a slight fever. However, you seem to be rather lucky compared to most of your men... Some of which have been diagnosed with malaria, the others with similar symptoms to yours... The more unlucky soldiers, so far seven have contracted severe infection from spike traps filled with... Well, what you would assume to be human excrement. They're unlikely to survive for another day or two at this point.

Your notes mostly have been about how long the march is going, and you can't help but worry if you'll make it or not. Disease is already a problem, and from a few Vietcong captives, the north has plenty of dangerous animals... Not to mention a recent outbreak of rabies in the area.
You put those notes to the side and take a look at the scouting notes... Mostly the standard few farms nearby, and the only thing of note is a long-abandoned ancient temple in the jungle which the locals still go to.

You sigh, and put the scouting notes to the side, your arm spiking up with pain... God, when will you get out of this shithole...

That's when you get reminded of the final report... The morale. You of course pick up the last report, and read through it...

It doesn't really surprise you, honestly. Most of the humans are discouraged, undetermined, and of questionable loyalty at this point due to events back home... Though you do find desertion is a bit down from last week. A mere twenty-two compared to the last thirty...

Something just tells you that you aren't going to make it if you don't deal with these problems.

Actions

>Deal with the disease problem. It's beginning to become a nightmare!
>...Try to figure out a way to restore the men's morale...
>...You can't stop to fix any of these problems. Order the marching to continue!
>...At this point you need to withdraw. Your under so many problems that it's a miracle you've gotten this far.

>Information

This quest takes place long before the events of The Last Airbender. Long before Aang, Roku, Kyoshi, Kuruk, or Yangchen. You play as a young Earthbender from a small village in one of the many Kingdoms scattered across the main continent. As a powerful villain strives to dominate the world, you will be forced to make choices that can stop it, aid it, or have no effect whatsoever.

>Rules

After each update I make, there will be a voting period of ten minutes. Once ten minutes have passed, whatever option has the most support will be the winner.

Write-ins are accepted, but only when specified If you see a write-in option, suggest whatever you like. If not, choose from the options I have provided.

Sometimes, rolls will be required. I will assign them, and they will operate under a d100 system. You will have three chances, and if one of the rolls succeeds, you pass. There are no crits, but I do take into account how much you succeed or fail by.

I reserve the right to veto certain write-ins, but will try to avoid doing so.

I hope you all have fun

As the guards come running, you create a pit right in front of them. One hapless man doesn't stop in time, and screams as he falls forward into the pit, while the others stop dead in their tracks.

Lantana creates a second pit, this one right beneath the survivors, who join their friend in the darkness.

"Let's keep going," Lantana says, creating a bridge over the pit and rushing forward.

"Look out!" Sansha shouts, and Lantana leaps just in time to avoid a sword from skewering her.

The weapon clatters uselessly to the ground, but laughter comes from up the stairs.

Your blood boils. You know that laugh.

Slowly strolling down the stairs is the woman that helped kill Gava, and that nearly killed you and Sansha.

Reaching the bottom of the stairs, she grins devilishly, drawing her other blade and readying herself for battle.

"Do you have any idea how predictable you people are?" she questions, sounding both amused and somewhat disappointed.

>A. You were going to ask her the same thing

>B. Throw a boulder at her

>C. Create a pit beneath her

>D. Draw your blade

>E. Demand to know where Mauya is

>F. Something else

Running a playtest for a Dread game I will be running. Will be using a d%100 system where checks become harder and harder by a factor of 3% for 3 rounds, 5% for 3 more round, etcetera until the d100 fails. Let's roll.

You are a Treasure Hunter, albiet an amature, looking to make a name for yourself. The year is 1956, and you have only taken up this task. You are in it for money, fame, and the adventures of a lifetime. With Curiosity as your compass and Discovery your drive, you set out to bite your first line; A house in Rhode Island that has sat abandoned for 30 years, and the home of a privious Adventurer, likely still containing his treasures.
