Time to start an experiment I've been considering for a little while. I'll looking for a maximum of six to eight volunteers willing to try this out.
I'm thinking of running a game where players control various nations in a world set at the tech level of around 1910, and playing through the 'great war period' in this alternate world. Of course, this world might not actually have a world war, we'll have to wait and see. Although warfare will likely play a part, the social events of this period like communism, fascism, nationalism and separatism, as well as international politics between players and npc nations will also be important. This will be a relatively realistic game, so no magic or fantasy races.
Pic related is the map will be using, which is the 'europe' of this world. Off the map to the west are steppes and tundra similar to Siberia, full of precisely fuck all. To the south is an equivalent of the sahara. Other continents exist, but are either colonies of the nations on the map, or are otherwise incapable of any major intervention with on-map conflicts, due to being too weak, too far away, too isolationist, or whatever else (but mainly for the sake of simplicity).
Should you wish to join, I'll need you to select an area you'd like to start in from the map. Unlike most nation builders which start at primitive technology levels there will be no 'empty' land in this game to expand into, everything will be owned by a player or npc nation. You can own as much or as little land as you would like (within limits). Try to choose roughly realistic borders. You can also place a capital and major cities for your nation. Please draw me a map (however shitty) of these things rather than explain them to avoid any confusion.

Aside from that I would like you to give me the following info, the more detail the better.
>Country Name:
>Colour:
>Government Type:
Do you have a monarchy? A parliament? Both? What ideology does your government follow? If a democracy, which party is currently in power? If you have a monarch what are they like?
>History:
How has your nation formed? What sort of culture and society do they have? How industrialised is it? Is it densely or sparsely populated for its size and terrain? Why? Is your technology cutting edge, or just about up to date, or behind the times?
>Colonies:
Do you have colonies? How big are they? What sort of places are they? Rainforest? Islands? Mountains? Deserts?
>Resources:
What you have lots of, but also what you are lacking. If you have colonies, what is produced in those?
>Issues:
Any outstanding issues your country has. Is it fucking backwards and still living like people did two hundred years ago (like Russia was)? Is it a mess of different religious and cultural groups that hate each other (like Austria-Hungary)? Does it have conflicting claims with neighbours over border zones and is on the verge of war as a result? Are communists threatening to overthrow the government? Is it struggling to maintain control of its colonies?
Anyone who makes a huge, advanced, stable nation that produces a huge variety of important resources, has a massive colonial empire and no issues to deal with will politely be told to fuck off. I'm trusting you here, folks. I'm also trusting you to not do anything blatantly retarded like overseas colonies for a landlocked nation, or a massive population in the arctic, or countless other ways of proving your mother should have had an abortion. Don't let me down.
>>1226126
That's my meth
>starting location:
as much land as you can afford me east and north as well as including that circular mountain range in the west. Sucks a bit that no rivers really span the width of the continent to any degree, but hey.
>Country name:
The Polymonarchy of Ithria, Epestria, Codria, Southene and foremost Cederia. Short: Cederia
>Government Type
Elective monarchy, with noblemen of all integrated kingdoms having a vote, but only Cederians being able to be voted Polymonarch. The current Polymonarch, Laracius Divicus is a deeply religious man but populist through and through, two traits that often come into conflict.
>History:
Cederia used to be a pretty strong player on the map, and it used its leverage to swallow up more and more of its neighbours. As it got bigger however, it became increasingly more slow and lumbering and increasingly more difficult to keep all the different peoples in check. Its very traditionalist government didn't help matters. So one after the other, through deals upon deals, its swallowed up peoples got more and more rights, eventually even granting four of them independant kingdom status, but still with the Polymonarch as their ruler. This brought with it a slow adaption rate as the lumbering giant falls more and more back behind the industrialized standart. It is wildly differently populated across its large ckay,
>Colonies:
Only tiny colonies in southern deserts. Very focused on the continent.
>Resources:
Coal, Agriculture, MANPOWER, salt, wood. Pretty great on most stuff except oil. Colonies produce a small amount of gemstones.
Issues: Lagging behind on industrialization, tensions between all the integrated peoples, the state religion is difficult to enforce, other than through a huge beaurocratic aparatus, it's large area is difficult to effectively govern. They have tried to combat that with aggressive alliences with culturally similar and industrially more advanced countries, in order to import the progress they themselves are unable to produce.
>>1226151
>Please draw me a map (however shitty) of these things rather than explain them to avoid any confusion.
I was serious. Please do. A quick scribble in paint is enough, and makes things so much easier for both me and other players.
Eli catches a ride on the van quietly as it pulls out with its kidnap victim. It drives for about 20 minites before hitting a barnhouse out in the backroads. Eli notices the van slowing, there will be a stop soon and he needs to make a choice.
Hop off and hide?
Stay on till they stop?
>>1235182
>Hop off and hide
Eli hops off the van quickly before the light of the barn washes into the field and hides in the shadows. He approaches the siding of the barn and peeks in through the creaks to see the van stop and pull out its victim. The man who had been kidnapped was yelling out protests and demanding where he was in a frightened voice. One of the men spoke up "welcome to the harvester boy, we need to make money and few of you jackasses losing a kidney, part of your liver, or just all your organs helps keep us fed. You're lucky cuz today we just want one of those lovly kidneys of yours." The man screams out no as they roll in place worn down hospital accommodations, and a monitor for vitals. He's strapped in and sedated, at which point the men disperse to grab materials, a couple hop back in the van and take off. Eli decides he needs a proper time to strike and comes to 2 conclusions.
Pick them off while they are seperated.
Wait till they are grouped back at the operating table and strike.

An intimidating man in a suit stands in front of me, his eyes grim and his face expressionless. Probably because he's had the nerves and most of the flesh in it pulled out and replaced with simple armor, well I say simple but it does have some very impressive craftmanship and forming to make him look outwardly human. And they even made it able to move, impressive if crude in design. He looks down at me, his bald head glinting in the dull light of the garage me and my friends call "Home base". He doesn't say a word as he pulls down his glasses, obviously mechanicle eyes staring at me as I notice he's wearing a badge in the shape of a grinning smile.
"Hmm" He says, holding up his phone as chrome crawls up my shoulder, its eyes glowing as he scans the man for any possible threat "Eve sparks right"
"What else would I be?" I ask, blinking wondering what this employee of smiles corp is doing here, probably have come looking for me
"Hmm" he says, holding his phone up to his eyes again as he reaches into his suit, Chrome tilts her head, its visor eyes flashing green...yeah he isn't reaching for a weapon, at least not an properly advance one "My employer told me you'd need this, royalties or something like that"
He holds out a brown envelop that's barely keeping its contents inside. I stare at his hand, as I realize Mimi isn't at my side, behind me or anywhere else. I glance over my shoulder and frown. I can't see my sister anywhere, and she was here just a second ago. The door didn't open either....oh this can't be good. Mom always said we had to stay close to eachother.
The man snorts, trying to get my attention as he shakes the envelope in my face
"Hello little teenage girl" He says in an empty voice "I'm giving you money you earned making those....pet cat spy bot things, are you going to take it or are you one of those freaks who don't like money?"
I turn back to him, tilting my head as he pushes the envelope towards me again, pursing his lips as he shakes it like a stubborn cord that simply refuses to connect to anything.
"Hey you in there? I know you're a bit borged up, but you are still here right? Now surfing the internet or texting in your head or something right?" He says sounding upset for some reason as I stare up at him "HEY you want this money right?"

Good day HM
Sirens, the pop idol trio. If you found someone that hasn’t heard of them, you would be convinced they had spent the past five years underneath a rock. In fact, you’d be hard-pressed if you managed a full minute without seeing them on a billboard or commercial. In the northern, futuristic, electric city of Kitakaze, the sweet sounds of these three instantly made them a smash hit on debut, their hidden identities underneath their mysterious masks only adding to their charm!
Or so that’s how one might explain to someone from the outside.
You stand outside a train station, facing a certain long-haired girl with a hair band on her head.
“Hi!” She’s in a wide-sleeved coat that ends almost halfway past her thighs, her waist tied up with a cloth ribbon and her shoulder a purse hanging off. “Hope I didn’t keep you waiting.”
“Hey Yuu…what are you wearing?” you ask.
“A traditional festival coat, that’s what! It’s practically mandatory for an idol concert,” Usagi replies, “Jeez, you should know this. What, did you grow up in the sticks?”
“I know what it is!” you say, “And the edge of the city is not ‘the sticks,’ alright!?”
“Uwaa, I was right,” she covers her smile, “Did I hit on a soft spot?”
“Shut it, you weren’t even close!”
“Sure thing, Katsuya. The real question is, why aren’t you wearing one?”
“Why would I be?” your eyes narrow.
“Because we’re witnessing the Sirens!” she say, digging into her purse. “But… I saw this coming, which is why…aha!”
Then, she pulls out a coat patterned like her own, compacted to a baffling size.
“Here!”
You stare blankly.
>”I’m not wearing that.”
>”We should get going.”
>”…Thanks…?”
>Grumble reluctantly.
>”I’ve made a terrible mistake.”

"It may have not been a problem but it was still sweet of you to go out of your way to care for my things. I swear I will make it up to you, somehow."
"It's fine ,Sam. I'm sure you would have done the same for me." you respond
Samantha smiles. "So, uhhh. What was the whole thing outside about?"
"Your going to want to sit down for this." You say taking a seat on the couch.
Samantha moves around to sit beside you... she could have picked one of the chairs... or the other couch... but she sat beside you.
You begin telling the story from earlier this week with the man in the park and some of the... personal problems you have been having with reguards to your sisters. You continue on to this morning and dropping Amy off at school.
From the staircase behind you you hear steps. You turn around and Amy is walking down the steps, eyeing Samantha and you. "Whats going on?"
"Just telling Sam here about the day I had".
"C-can I listen to?"

It's been a couple minutes now since Tatsuki pulled Dante away so they can talk in private.
And while you aren't concerned for the boy it does make you a bit nervous that they are taking so long.
But as you are sitting next to Harribel something entirely different happens.
Ichigo who has been sulking up until now finally stood up and came out from behind his little tree.
He walks up to you and looks at you with an expression of part confusion and part resentment.
''Hey, erm...
Is Tatsuki gonna be okay?''
You withdraw from cuddling with your wife and look the boy straight in the eye.
''What's wrong Ichigo?
Jealous?''
''Huh?!
N-no! I just... I'm just worried about her that's all.
She's my friend, you know!''
''And? Are you implying Dante is dangerous?''
''N-n-no...''
''Then stop worrying already!
They'll be fine.
More importantly, did you work out all the angst from your system?''
''Yeah... about that...
I think I'd like to try that again...
Maybe against someone that I have a chance against...''
''Heh...
That's funny...''
''What is?''
''What makes you think you'd have a chance against me?''
Ichigo smirks at that.
''I'm gonna wipe that smile off of your face old man!''
''Oh... you've done it now boy!
I'll kick your ass until you like it!''
But just as you are about to stand up you feel a hand holding you from standing up.
You turn around and give Tia a puzzled look.
''Actually...
I have another idea.''
She says.
''Maybe your methods are... just not suitable for him.
Let me try.''
You raise your eyebrows at that.
''A-are you sure?
I mean-''
''It's going to be fine.
Don't worry about it.''

It is the Year of Our Lord 1120. You are Victor Reis, a Knight-Captain of the Order of Brothers of the German House of Saint Mary in Frankfurt (The Teutonic Order.) You had come to the Holy Land after a request for aid from your brothers in the newly-formed Templar order, and traveled with them to a mountain pass Northeast of Acre, and joining a Saracen horde in battle there, suddenly found yourself in another world, along with your Teuton brothers and Templar allies.
Previously, on Fantasy Crusader Quest....
You talked to Father MacAodhagain and Cellica, and clarified your dream last night. You got awoken while resting for the night, on the way back to the main camp, by a knife to your throat.
>>1225811
"Well, look what we have here. You belong to me now."
The ash-skinned elf holds a blade to your throat, and chuckles as you try and grab her arm. Pressing the knife slightly harder, she draws a thin line of blood, and you freeze. "That's better. Sit still, like a good little toy."
Around you, you see several similarly scantily-clad men and women, presumably dark elves like the one on top of you, all holding knives and swords to your men's throats. Wait. Where's Cellica?
Frantically looking around, you don't see her anywhere. You're not quite sure if that's a good thing or a bad thing. Raising an eyebrow, the dark elf straddling your chest says, "What might you be looking for, hmm? A friend, hiding, looking for a chance to save you? An opportunity to escape? Either way, nothing can help you now."
Standing up, she kicks you in the side, surprisingly hard for such a slight woman. "Stand up, pet. If you're a good boy, I might keep you for myself."
Grinding your teeth in frustration, you consider your options. You could probably overpower the woman, but your men are at risk, and Cellica is nowhere to be found. Or, you could go with the woman, and your situation could possibly get even worse.
>(Grab her by the leg, pull her down, pin her.)

This is Boruto Quest, a quest set in the universe of Naruto. It is during the generation of Naruto's son after everyone has graduated from their Genin exam. I haven't kept up with the series beyond the end of the original one, so this one is intended to recapture the feel of that time of Naruto. I will not be incorporating the main show or the Boruto movie's plot into the quest, although some recognizable characters will be present. You play as a 12 year old Chunin named Takeshi. You have been assigned a Jounin squad leader named Hanto, and your two squadmates are Kichiro, a young delinquent, and Ai, a strange social outcast of a girl. You are of average skill in most aspects, although your sharp intelligence, and your jack of all trades skill set have brought you far. You're a Chunin of notable talent for your age. You're speaking with Shozuku, the leader of the Jashinists.

The boy chuckles, and cocks his head. "You're not a coward, are you? You've gotta know how your men are going to kill, spread this shit around, ruin lives."
Shozuku's eyes narrow. "No. I need some sort of proof that you're willing to keep your word, and most importantly, that you're not a ninja. I'm sure you're well aware that shinobi can take on various forms, and have been trained in the art of infiltration extensively. One solution for me, as a 'businessman' as you've put it, is to reach across this table and slap the shit out of you. Option two, is to see you partake in something illegal. Now, you can either take a drag, or.."
He pulls out the gun again, and sets it on the table. "Fire this into the crowd. I need some sort of confirmation that you're not just another coward. You want to be the big man about town? You gotta fucking act the part."
The devilish young man keeps staring, an adrenaline-fueled, drug crazed intensity that tells you he's not going to relent.
Your heart is pounding.

You're an apprentice wizard. You seek to explore (and loot) the magical ruins of dead civilisations. Such ruins can be found all over the world and they're typically filled with treasure, magical stuff and blood-thirsty monsters. According to your map (and your inherent ability to sense magic) somewhere in this forest are the ruins of an old fortress. There is also a small town nearby.
But before we start you must choose what kind of wizard you are. Pick a type of magic that you're good at, a type of magic you know a little bit about and a type of magic that you're extremely bad at. (The image is just for inspiration you don't actually have to pick anything on it)

Welcome to Uruk-hai quest! This is an idea I've been working on for a few months and decided to give it a shot. This is my first quest so don't fuck me too hard.
This is set 150 years after the 4th Age began. Orcs still roam the country sides but have been forced into hiding by the now very strong kingdoms of man. We'll be using a D20 system and only the first three rolls will be counted.
Also sorry for any spelling or grammatical mistakes.
Rage is the first thing you feel as you awaken. The membrane around quivers one last time before you rip yourself out of it you slide onto the floor covered in foul smelling fluids. You struggle to breath for a few moments, the pleasant smelling air only makes you angrier. You wipe the fluids from your eyes finding yourself in a hole in the ground somewhere in the forest. Slime races down your body and you feel the warmth of the air on your body. Defiantly don't want this shit to dry. You take a moment to regain composure and see a puddle on the ground. You take handfuls of the water and start cleaning yourself of the slime. After you're done you hear a twig snap and see an Orc step by the hole.
He smiles for a moment before yelling, "We got anotha one ere' boss! And e' looks mad!"
Soon after a larger Orc appears and stops at the edge of the pit. He stares at you for a few seconds before he yells, "Well you gettin' up ere' or do I ave' to make you!"
What a cunt.

You are Lieutenant Commander Reynolr, of the Citadel Empire, recently-promoted captain of the CAS Brora (PS-4-917), an armed trawler based in the wretched Kraegsk Archipelago. Your presence here is tied to the nature of the storm-ravaged Kraegsk - north of resource-rich islands and a major naval warzone, the floating wrecks of great warships are carried by the currents to smash against the jagged coasts of the Kraegsk. You are to recover Citadel personnel from wrecks, protect salvage ships, and ensure that the enemy Republic and its craven mercenaries does not gain control of the Kraegsk from their own naval base, at the opposite end of the archipelago. Every month, a convoy of cargo ships picks up scrap that cannot be used or embezzled by the forces of the Kraegsk and takes it back to the naval yards of your homeland - loss of these ships is unacceptable.
Before the Citadel-Republic war, the Kraegsk was inhabited by a series of destitute fishing communities living in the shadow of the ruins of the old Astaeran Empire. Now they are forced into the service of the belligerents, powerless to resist the meager forces allocated to the Kraegsk.
Recently, we've settled the matter of credit and honor for the Battle of Sbvysek, and took Sofia out of the hellish garrison hospital there. On our way back to Scrap Bay to present the Republic Admiral's Flag in ours and the Sbvysek Commandant's name (and receive the accolades), Sofia told us a great deal about the Republic. In Scrap Bay, we met two scientists who are scheduled to inspect our Astaeran range finder in the hold this morning. After, at the prelude to the celebratory ball tonight, we met a coastal artillery officer who brought warnings of blasphemy, and a certain Céleste Chapuis, a noblewoman who is our company to the ball.

You wake up early in the morning, exhausted from last night's events. A heavy rain is hammering down on the Bay, drumming on the deck of the Brora and audible from your tiny cabin - you look out the porthole, and see the scenery of the Bay faint and ethereal in the mist.
You check with Master Evans - the Astaeran range-finder is ready in the storage bay, and the crew is squared away, doing basic maintenance. You have an hour before the scientists arrive, a rare moment of free time in your cabin, alone.
>Sketch the scenes outside, and scenes from your memory. One day you'll look back on this, hopefully not from the afterlife.
>Pick the lint and blemishes out of your uniform. It wouldn't do to be a bit scruffy tonight, although you strongly suspect Céleste doesn't care.
>Pick up the amulet Céleste slipped into your hand last night, and inspect.
>Something else?

You are Allen Starwind, a starship captain and veteran of the Great Interstellar War. Your starship is old, yet (mostly) reliable, and you must take on jobs in order to bring in enough cash to keep it flying. Last time, you witnessed a fight, got some broken bones, and returned to your ship. Good luck, and fair skies.

You frown, looking down at the large machine Cynthia has been working on, allegedly a stealth drive of some sort. “So what have you learned about this thing?”
She crosses her arms. “Well, I hooked it up to a computer yesterday afternoon and ran some diagnostics on it. Looks like it was augmented with Federal software around 30 years ago.”
“What would’ve been in the middle of the big naval reforms…” You rub your chin thoughtfully.
“That’s how I think it got misplaced. Probably sat in a warehouse for a while, then got mixed up and sent to the same mothball yard as the Bad Habit.”
“I see,” you nod. “And it is a stealth drive, right?”
Cynthia grins. “You bet it is. I tested it while you were up at the temple.”
Your eyes go wide. “You didn’t think it might be too dangerous?”
She shrugs. “We’d have to test it eventually. Anyway, I hooked it up to the reactor and fired it up. It works, but it takes up a lot of juice. If we were to use it in space, we’d be forced to run on emergency power the entire time, meaning no maneuvering, communications, or sensors. We’d be drifting blind, but we’d be much more difficult to detect.”
“Right,” you nod. “And it works every time?”
Cynthia shrugs again. “I’m honestly not sure. This thing is an enigma to me, even with a computer plugged into it.”
You sigh. “Okay. Other than that, anything else happen while I was gone? Any mechanical problems?”
She frowns. “Nothing’s broken as of yet, but that coolant pump keeps pulling harder than it should. It’s the original one that the ship was built with, so I’m honestly surprised we haven’t had it break down yet.”
>”How much do you expect a new coolant pump to cost us?”
>”Think we’ll be able to pick up any cargo here on Thalos?”
>”Have you taken a look at that turret we picked up? I’d like to install it as soon as possible.”
>”I’ll go ahead and get out of your hair. It looks like you have a lot to do.” (leave)
>Write-in.

General rules:
There is a 10 minute voting period after each post. Non-contradictory votes will be combined as best as possible.
Write-ins for all votes are always welcome and encouraged. They may not all make it into the post or be altered to fit in, but I'll do my best to at least try to address the spirit of the write-in.
Very important or contentious votes may be redone in a stricter voting system as circumstances warrant.
Combat mechanics involve three rolls of 1d100, taking the best, and using the base accuracy and crit ranges of the game, roughly, but the 'turn order' will be more like the anime, where sometimes you can do a few moves in a row or be hit by a combo of moves yourself, all depending on circumstances. Stronger moves tend to take more time and have more cooldown than weaker moves, so beware of that timing. Speed is more important for closing ground, intercepting, and other things and doesn't necessarily mean going first. Infact, you can do more than one move in a row like the anime, but so can your opponents.
