"Daes'Havolya...is that you? Do my eyes deceive me?"
You pivot sharply and grasp at the handle of your Hold-Out blaster in your pocket. Approaching you quickly is a tannish-green young twi'lek man. He's visibly armed with one blaster pistol holstered on his hip and another in his hand, pointed at the ground. Dae turns around, a confused look on her face.
Another distant explosion reverberates through the city, sending an unexpected throb through the burned side of your face. Now is really not the time for this. "Wait a minute," You hold out your left hand for the twi'lek to stop.
He doesn't.
"Hey, stop right where you are," you call out a bit more aggressively as he approaches even closer, now no more than 20 feet from the three of you. Daesha cocks her head at the advancing man, apparently unaware of the potential danger you're sensing.
Alright, that's enough. You draw the heavy bruiser of a pistol you just found -pointing it at the stranger as it pulses to life with a deep, heated thrum. Initially, you hadn't thought the lanky twi'lek was paying attention to you. But, just as quickly as you draw your own weapon you've found two pistols aimed right back at you. The twi'lek stare you down with a venomous glare as he spits out unexpected words with vitrol.
"Give. Me. Back. My. Sister."

Welcome to Old Republic Surveyor Quest. You are Krall Sivron, a Nautolan Surveyor working for the Old Republic in the era just prior to the Mandolorian Wars.
As of the last thread, you escaped a terrorist attack in broad daylight, unlike much of the unsuspecting public. While you initially caught the gunmen by surprise, you were injured and forced to retreat into shelter with Daesha, the Twi'lek Jedi Padawan, and your recently found scoundrel of a boss, Zeph Heidonis.
We rejoin our protagonist in the midst of an exit, being confronted by a strange twi'lek man calling out Daesha's name.

A fist to the side of the face puts short work to the twi'lek's acidic attitude and he stumbles back onto the ground, one of his pistols scattering across the ground. Zeph shakes his hand whistling, "Man, you snake-heads wouldn't see trouble coming if it was stomping on your nuts. Let Diamond Zeph, take care of this one." He draws his pistol, finger already on the trigger, and aims at the fearful twi'lek sprawled on the ground.
"No, Stop!"
A gun flashes, but richochets off Dae's open palm and bursts on the front of a nearby earthen house. Dae stands over the young man protectively. Zeph looks dumbfounded at the scene, then back to you with his arms open in exasperation.
Dae looks down, picking apart every detail of the stranger. "...Davot, is that...is that really you?"
Shaking from perhaps fear, anger, or the cold of the rain the Twi'lek on the ground looks upon at the characters standing around him...and slowly nods. "Daes'Havolya...I thought I'd lost you forever all those years ago. Why are you here with...with them? You aren't their s-"
Dae stops him cold, shaking her head. "No, no it's nothing like that. C'mon Krall, tell him."
You weigh your words...
>Dae is helping you with Republic Business here on the Outer Rim
>Dae hired you to help her complete a job
>Yep, Dae is totally your slave. She likes it, too.
>You stopped on Ryloth, but were witness to an attack. Dae helped save you and your boss, and you're trying to find the authorities.

Born as a commoner, fate had much in store for the young Jean Capet, as his Lord, Jandant de Labendai took him in as his squire.
Years later, Lord de Labendai died without heirs, raising Jean to the rank of a Lord with his last breath.
However, the realm had fallen on hard times after two years of sickness that had befallen Lord Jandant de Labendai.
Still, there was hope. Jean took up the name and title of Lord Jean de Labendai, first of his name. In only a few months, he has proven a prodigy at ruling his lands, restoring what was left of them to peace and order, making many friends, but also a few opponents along the way.
The stables are only a small distance away from the training grounds, so getting your horse is a matter of minutes.
Once you return, you approach the still practicing knights and nobles.
>Excuse me, Mylords and good Sirs? Would you mind if I join in on your exercise? My horseback experience is mostly lackluster.
you tell them. The oldest one, a man with a sheep and a goat depicted on his shield, nods.
>Absolutely. I think it would be a nice change of pace. Now, should we teach you to become more secure while moving on horseback? Or would you like to go for the combat aspect immediately?
A good question. What would you like to answer?
>I'm a pretty proficient rider at both long and short distance. I think some pointer with using weapons on horseback would be nice.
>I should brush up on staying in the saddle before trying to get someone out of it.
>Usually, I learn best from practice. A little spar would be nice.

>I'm a pretty proficient rider at both long and short distance. I think some pointer with using weapons on horseback would be nice.
>Well, I am a proficient enough rider at both short and long distance. Wielding a weapon at the same time is the thing holding me back.
you answer, making the man nod.
>Sure. Doing two things at the same time can be a bit difficult, especially if you're not used to it. What kind of weapons are you proficient in?
You tell him about your ability to use most weapons decently, but excell at using a shortsword and bow. He nods.
>I see. The bow can be useful in a real battle, but not a joust. A shortsword is not too helpful in both. You might want to go for a lance or blunt weapon of some kind. Or a two handed sword. Your frame should let you use one without too much trouble.
He's right. You're grown quite a bit, making your shortsword look like a toothpick in your hands. Maybe you should try to look into a weapon you couldn't reasonably use before growing those extra inches?
You go over to the rack with training weapons. After a quick look, you decide to take...
>The lance. Classic jousting weapon, great range.
>The warhammer. Like a mace, but heavier and more destructive.
>The battleaxe. Good range, good power.
>The broadsword. Can't be too different from a smaller sword, right?
>The longsword. Easier to swing than the broadsword, longer range, but slightly less damaging.
>The greatsword. Big, bulky and destructive, it combines the good attributes of the broad- and longsword.
>The morning star. Range, power and flexibility combined with a good amount of experience you already have with it.

You are Pandora, the world's first fully sentient AI created by a government scientist. He raised you, taught you everything you know and has gone missing after something happened to the Facility you lived in. Now you search for purpose in a new world that is nothing like you expected.
You continued watching the festivities of the Church's celebration dedicated to you. You noticed a strange plume of smoke, but Minos didn't seem worried by it at all despite Orion running off suddenly and a large number of armed guards following suit. You can only assume to deal with whatever caused it.
Not too long afterward, an enormous explosion rocked everything around you and sending the crowd into a blind panic. You figured it must be Hydra's signal and made a mad dash for the exit without further thought. Unfortunately, the large number of people in the crowd running around, screaming and disregarding everything else around them, resulted in you getting separated from the others.

Far off, nestled in an otherwise small Japanese town lies the Dark Gate Academy. An institution of tremendous size, the Academy holds a long kept secret. Unknown to the outside world, this unseemly town is home to a tear in our reality. A gate between our world and a bizarre dimension known as the Darkworld. The inhabitants of this hellish world breach this gate and attempt to flood into our reality and spread throughout the world on a regular basis. However, the Dark Gate Academy is home to students of truly extraordinary abilities. The ability to sense the presence of these evil Darkworld creatures, and defeat them in combat, sending them back through the gate.
They cannot close the rift between our world and the Darkworld, but the students and staff of Dark Gate Academy have dedicated their lives to using their amazing powers to hold back the darkness that plagues our world, even if it costs them their lives. They have risen up to the challenge and in secret have become great heroic defenders of the world as we know it.
For many years, Dark Gate Academy has held back the forces of the Darkworld, kept this unspeakable evil contained within their walls. But a dark cloud approaches, and times are about to change. A new chapter in the tale of Dark Gate Academy is about to begin.

Christmas was celebrated at the Academy.
“Ah, home sweet home!”
As you drag your luggage off of the train, you wish to yourself that you had Kiriko's enthusiasm. Visiting home over the winter break... a lovely time for most. But considering your relationship with your mother... well, this was something you would have much rather avoided. Especially when it means being separated from the rest of your club... outside of two.
Mayu stumbles out of the train with her luggage, and you move to steady her. “Thank you Kazuma,” she replies, pushing her hair out of her face. “I appreciate your assistance.”
“No problem,” you smile. “I suppose you'll be a guest in our home for the next while.”
“Do not think of me as a guest,” Mayu bows with respect. “I do not wish to be doted on and served. Please, treat me simply as a... an intruder within your home.”
“I think we're going to treat a little nice than an intruder,” you sigh. “Don't try to be so modest.”
Kiriko chuckles. “Besides, you'll have a hard time not being doted on! Namika's gonna love you!”
You scoff. “Sure... she'll be nice to strangers...”
“I promise,” Kiriko continues. “We're all going to get along completely fine as long as nobody drops the K-bomb.”
“K-bomb?” you raise an eyebrow.
“Kankuro,” Kiriko explains. “I know you'll be tempted to mention your dad, Kaz... but you have to admit it's a touchy subject between three of the four of us. So can we all agree that he's a taboo conversation topic while we're here?”
“I can abide by those rules,” Mayu replies.
“Sure...” you mutter. “I don't want to start a fuss while we're here.”
Kiriko claps her hands together. “Perfect! Now, let's get moving!”
Kiriko runs on ahead of the two of you, giddily bouncing along. Mayu stares at her movement and lets out a sigh. “Feeling romantic?” you smirk.
“Kazuma, I have absolutely no romantic feelings for you,” Mayu replies coldly. “Please do not solicit me like that again.”
You sigh. “I meant with Kiriko. You still planning on confessing?”
Mayu pauses. “Yes. I intend to do it tonight.”
“Well, good luck,” you reply as the two of you continue to move. “So... none at all? You were quick to deny.”
“Kazuma.”
“Okay, sorry.”
As the two of you catch up with her, Kiriko spins around, staring at the two of you. “So, are we going straight to your place? Or do we want to stop off somewhere first?”
>Let's head straight to the house. Don't want to keep mom waiting.

You, an aspiring thief, are on your first practical exam in the city of Ormsgill.
You are prone on a grassy heap, mottled with shrubs, overlooking a house. Fieldmaster Kuebel is beside you, acting as your examiner and briefing you.
Kuebel pokes his pipe into his beard, taking great care concealing the smoke. 'Ok. Records say there is a single occupant, presumably asleep. The target trinket to be taken is the Sullyberry Goblet- it's gold and emblemed with sapphires. It was last seen standing in a display case in the Parlor room. All in all, as expected for your first practical, this is a rank C joint. You have 7 minutes.' He takes his clunky backpack off, and unfurls the tarp wrapping it, revealing a svelte wooden chest, which when opened, spread its tiers of compartments outwards, displaying a selection of thieving tools and equipment.
'Normally your quartermaster would recommend equipment back at the Trench, but since this is an exam, I'm testing your ability to cater your equipment to the task at hand.' Kuebel unfolds a floorplan of the house and taps the mouthpiece of his pipe on it. 'Here’s a floorplan of the house. Take your time to choose your equipment wisely. I’m not allowed to give you any more information than I have already.'

The moon below him burns.
The Necrolyte Commander stood on the bridge of his command ship watching the holoscreen display the forests of Scatters moon ablaze. Separate miles wide forest and brush fires begin connecting as the undead seem to purposely be using the flames to flush out the hidden survivors and act as a futile barrier against the Armadan forces. Necrolytes and Trolls deploy with dragonscale armor, the stalwart warriors striding unhindered through the flames during their missions.
Scatters itself was a patchwork of besieged townships reinforced by Necrolyte and Reconstructed troops. Locals are given simple weaponry and armor to help defend themselves as carrier ships descend to carry off the refugees to safety in orbit. Persistent sandstorms in other areas of the world help provide some cover and slow the ever advancing hordes of undead which are harassed by artillery fire from Battletombs and Crawlers while Devastators dig trenches and pits to slow down their advances.
Elsewhere in the system the main planet of Hearth is reinforced by a blockade of corvettes, frigates, and cruisers to prevent the passage of any craft containing undead. The local picket fleet consisting of a ragtag array of incredibly varied ships broadcasting their heartfelt thanks for the relief as they are finally able to rest and recuperate without fear of letting a shuttle packed full of undead to sneak past.
Raiding patrols were sent to harass the ramshackle "shipyards" of Junkyard. Piercing Nails and other long-ranged ships using kinetic rounds to snipe from a safe distance from the enemy craft. In a significant strike a Plasma Weaver Cruiser uses its advanced skip drive to appear nearly on top of a large formation of ships catching them flatfooted. Its powerful weapons unleash a massive wave of roiling necrotic energy that washes over the undead shuttles and strikecraft made of salvaged ships and leaves a scattering of glowing wreckage from the craft it did not incinerate outright.
As the Think Tanks suspected, with the new unified front of resistance the undead seemed to be becoming more cautious in their attacks and moving with a more deliberate intent. Captured zombies and ghouls of various races were taken to the command ship and dumped into the starships Cauldron to analyze these new undead.
The Necrolyte Commander ran a thumb across the shard of carved chitin in his hand while he looked over the display of the system. Clenching a fist around the shard of Jadyk armor he solidifies his resolution to secure and protect the Refuge system, turning sharply to address his officers and deploy new orders.
The Necrotic Armada has come to save the people of Refuge and the Necrolyte Legion would do its best to assure this victory.

It looms before you. The nomads you traveled with are the descendants of the great desert empires. A faint echo of power.
The Dungeon, created by gods long dead. In it is the fabled [Orb of Omipontence]. Twenty years ago, it opened. Adventurers from all corners of the world traveled, determined to be the first to descend the Dungeon and ascend into godhood. Nobody came back, a decade passed, rumors spread that someone had already gotten the Orb, or that it did not exist, or that.... The rumor spread and multiplied, now only the desperate and foolish seek it out -- and only the desperate find it.
You have found it. You Ascend to the peak where the entrance lies tomorrow morning with your few possessions.

I'll explain the format as we go along, for now, we're using Pathfinder/Dnd 3.5 rules with very few minor alternations I have made. Vote on Class, then Race, then Name. Based off that I'll make a base character for speed reasons, from there all build choices will be up to you guys.
After Char gen, some ID's will play as our MC and other ID's will play as the BGs. If one group is slow to the draw I will step in to keep things rolling.

You are Captain Kusajishi Riku, and your conversation with your zanpaukuto Tenkotsuki has led given you an idea. She wants to teach you Hadō 99, an extraordinarily powerful spell called Goryūtenmetsu, so that you can match such spells in the event that Aizen Sōsuke has also managed to learn them. However this represents a level of kidō that's impractical even for most Captains, and will demand your entire focus and probably considerable risk just to learn... and having spent hours trying to reign in the considerable combined power of your own Bankai and resurrección has left you bordering on exhaustion. Now you've found yourself amid the glowing, steamy fumaroles of your 'inner world' where your zanpakuto has confided in you that for perhaps the first time she actually feels like she's pressed for time.
To hear such an admission from her, especially in such direct terms, was surprising.
With a grim chuckle, you come to the realization that there's a very simple solution for the problem. “You know how to cast Hadō 99 yourself, correct?”
“Of course,” Tenkotsuki replies calmly.
“Then I have an idea... if we used that form again, just for a few minutes, we could multitask.”
Tenkotsuki frowns at you, but seems to be considering your point carefully. “That is quite a serious amount of strain to place on yourself for such a purpose. Would you not merely be taking notes?”
“We would,” you nod firmly. “That's the idea at least. If I write down everything I can think of that'd help me learn Goryūtenmetsu, I could review it even while I'm recovering my strength. I assume there's a reason you want any 'practical' instruction to happen here?”
“The concepts are difficult to teach, and even more difficult to put into practice,” Tenkotsuki admits, glancing about the blasted fields of hardened lava surrounding her tree. “In this space we share a mind, at least to a certain extent... it facilitates our conversations and is more forgiving of failure.”
“Meaning you can keep me from burning my arm off or something similarly stupid?” you frown.
“I have a greater control over 'reality' here, at least as far as this place ever bothers to reflect such things,” Tenkotsuki explains thoughtfully. “However in the simplest terms yes, I can prevent you from burning off any limbs during the learning process.”

considering we had to stab ourselves with hollow juice to get back our arm last time, and I think we're down to one vial because we never gave it to Urahara to study, I think studying here is the best we can manage.
Not to mention there was a train-up period to get our arm back to full range of motion/flexibility.

“Well then that settles it,” you declare. “I'll take some notes on the outside and then I'll be back when I can.”
Then, in a move your zanpakuto clearly didn't anticipate, you embrace the fox-tailed woman.
“I've got you two. So long as that's true, what do we have to worry about?”
After a moment, Tenkotsuki returns your embrace.
“Come on, Rosa,” you begin only to find that your former inner hollow has already joined the embrace.
“Do not be excited,” Tenkotsuki warns you. “She did it simply to deny us the amusement of seeing her try to refuse.”
“Shut it, vixen,” Rosa grumbles.
When you break your jinzen you find that you have unconsciously released both your swords, your reiatsu still rotating slowly around you like the eyewall of a great storm. Now conscious of your surroundings your reign in that energy, only to find your daughter glaring down at you.
“I thought we were going to rest?” she asks you accusingly.
“I require pen and paper,” you reply, largely ignoring her complaint. “The quicker I accomplish this task the sooner I will be able to re-seal my zanpakuto.”
As Rangiku grumbles and attempts to humor your demands, you can't fail to notice that your would-be students look dissatisfied: Apacci is outright frustrated by her lack of progress, while Halibel is deep in thought.
“Yeah... no..” Apacci sighs, “that really didn't work, Lady Riku. Got any other bright ideas?”

With that you fly up while she glares at you. You then head over to the left ship and land on the deck. As soon as you do a bolt of water flies by your face. You turn to see an armored lady with a sword at her side.

Alright, so this will be somewhat of a test trial for a more fleshed out game this is a simplified version of. There's gonna be a lot of mechanics made up on the fly so heads up
You're the servants of an evil overlord, one of the commanders of his armies. You'll be commanding troops in his name. His evil Empire is only budding as of now and so he's counting on you to bring him the skulls of the innocent and the like.
I'll post some chargen stuff, I'll see how many commanders we'll get and I'll cap it if it becomes too many.
Your overlord has his eyes on many evil races to subjugate, but so far he only has some turned humans from the plains he plights, opportunistic orcs that have flocked to him for coin from the desert, and undead of his own making under his command.
Each of them has their strengths and weaknesses, and each of them has their *special* stat interaction.
Everyone, choose a race and a name.
The Commanders of the Overlord fall into three broad categories:
The wizards that have been seduced by him with the promises of forbidden knowledge. They of course, depending on their race, already possess knowledge of the Arcana.
The Barbarian Chieftains that have accepted him as their superior and that hope to find glory in his shadow, bringing with them their clan.
And the Gladiators that have been bred for war and killing by the Overlord himself and equipped with the best the hellfire smithies have to offer.
And lastly, I want everyone to pick a
>Vice
Something that your Commander is drawn to so much that he might even put himself at risk for it.
Whenever you get into danger for following a vice, you'll get 1XP
>An Attitude
Something your Character believes in and works towards. This is a goal so far away that it seems unattainable in the nearer future. Every time your Character makes great strides towards it, you get 1XP
>A Goal
These you can add in play, and will be attainable goals within the session, like "Kill that knight". I have to sign off on it. Completing it gives you 1XP
XP has to be claimed, it's not given passively without you saying you've earned it.
