It isn't long before you hear clomping boots on the metal floor outside. Ten men come through the medical cycler, clutching laser rifles in their hands. They visibly relax when they see your Imperial armor, visible through the burn holes in your cloak. The leader steps forward.

"I need to see some ID," he asks, with a definite shake underlying his voice.

You grab your badge off your shoulder, and hold it up for him. After shouldering their weapons, your team does the same. The chief relaxes.

"Alright. Can you explain why you couldn't take the two minute walk to CenSec?"

"Yes. We're currently trying to stop this foolish civil war, and another party is trying to keep it going. This girl," you motion to her, "is part of that other party. Leaving her alone would invite an assassination attempt."

He raises an eyebrow. "Bit paranoid, aren't you?"

You give him a level gaze. "I've learned to be."

When we last left off, Mr. Bones and his newfound pet, Doggo, claimed an underground fortress from a cult that lurked beneath the walled city of Hophel with the help of a few prisoners. While staying in his new home, he discovered the secrets of necromancy! Now, he walks the street looking for more food and defenses when more cultists return.

If you're going to defend yourself from any cultists, then using your necromancy powers will surely help. The criminally active slums of this city may be able to yield some corpses. Unfortunately, your current MP (180) cannot fully necromance a human corpse, which costs about 200 MP. You decide the next best thing is to cut up the body instead. Reminder: you're able to fuse necromanced body parts together for 30 MP. After some searching, you finally find a body! His chest is full of stab wounds.

Three southerners were hanged in Port Daud this morning, suspects charged with an arson attack on a munitions factory. Thankfully, you arrive late enough to be spared that spectacle. Even so, a cloud seems to hang over the area – and not just the usual cloud of industrial smog. An ill mood, the sort that seems all too common these days.

Walking along the docks, the mingling scents of salt and diesel fuel war for your attention. Taking your time, you walk the length of the docks until you find the Abaddon. It stands empty and abandoned, while the few passing sailors give it a wide berth. Unarmed, the Abaddon could blend in with any number of other ships, traders and fishing vessels... if not for the faintly unwholesome air that hangs about it. Nothing you can put your finger on, but it's the same air that drives away the other sailors.

Not, you will admit, a promising sign.

You've heard people say that every scar has a story. If that's true, Titus Gore must have a few interesting tales to tell. One half of his mouth has a long and jagged ridge of scar tissue that climbs his cheek, while his front teeth – when they peer through his thin lips – have been replaced by gaudy silver implants. It's not exactly a smile that reveals those teeth to you, but it might have been intended as such.

The dock worker who had given you directions to this bar, to Gore's favourite haunt, had also given you a murmured warning. Now, you can see why. Gore is not along, flanked on either side by three particularly rough thugs. Gore might have attempted a smile of greeting, but his companions make no such effort. A single nod from their boss, you sense, and those men would throw you out in a heartbeat. A show of weakness, and they might start trouble for the sheer sport of it.

So you do the only thing you can do. You take a seat at their table, as if it was the most natural thing in the world, and you make yourself comfortable. The thugs look surprised, bewildered even, but Gore gives you an appreciative leer.

Risky move. Smart move.

“You must be the Wolf that Vasily mentioned,” Gore begins, his voice softer than you had been expecting, “He told me that you were looking to travel north.”

And he must be Titus Gore, you reply, the man willing to take you north.

“I'm a man willing to do a great many things, mister...” letting his words trail off, Gore gestures for you to continue. Two fingers on his left hand are prosthetics, beautifully crafted from steel but strangely womanly in form.

Hanson, you tell him with faint reluctance, Henryk Hanson.

“Henryk Hanson,” Gore repeats, rolling your name about in his mouth in a way that makes you feel vaguely uncomfortable, “And you're looking to head north... far north. Well, my friend, I think I can help you. Ludwig!” As he calls that name, Gore makes a grandiose gesture. One of the crewmen stands bolt upright in response.

“Yes chief?” he practically yelps, standing ramrod straight, “Something you need?”

“Go and fetch the rest of the crew, get them to assemble back at the ship. In fact, all of you go!” sweeping his hand about in a broad circle, Gore causes his men to scatter like startled birds. When the last of them has fled, he leans forwards and pushes across a glass of liquor. “Well then,” Gore says, raising a glass of his own, “It's time we talked business, you and I.”

"Basically I just need to get up there and kill something. Any artifacts or other things of value that are found you and your men can have to sell or do whatever you want with, though I might take a trophy of my kill. And if since we are going in uncharted territory if you have anyone good at making maps they can try to sketch things out as best they can. College would probably pay for something like that."

Yui is so excited she can barely hold still. And with good reason too: the love of her life is here to rescue her from the nightmare of abuse she's suffered through for what must be several nights running. Oh, and you're here too of course, because you're the one who not only invaded her nightmare, but brought her and her tormentor into your dream, along with Akari-niji-chan.

Kurao Daibutsu is a true oni; his connection to the elements isn't as intense as that of an oni-child. It is fairly obvious he's got Void magic though, since he was possessing your Yui-niji-chan through her dreams, and was planning on playing with lightning in some manner or another. Well, now you're possessing him, though it is in your dream, and while he's still dangerous, all home advantages are now yours.

Of course, he has much more serious issues to deal with than just you; Akari is enraged, and only the fact that this is a dream makes her capable of self control without you drawing blood or keeping a grip on her. Her older sister probably thinks you never had a clue, of course, but you've always known Akari has a special kind of temper. You suspect she isn't merely dragonette....but you've never asked, and she's never told. On the other hand, nw that you and Akari are here, Yui has recovered much more than her smile, though that's pretty evident too at the moment.

With your arms across your niji-chans' shoulders, you give the badly beaten and shocked yellow oni a slow, wicked grin. The remnants of the talismanic object he clearly planned on using to escape back to the waking world crumbles to fine black ash in his hand. He clenches the black steel gauntlet and glares at you with his one good eye, his other a ruin of blood and shadow, while his broken horn trickles black ichor.

“I am really quite put out with you people, you know,” you comment mildly, the wind carrying your voice the hundred-plus feet to the oni metalsmith. He bares his teeth, but the fear in his eye can't be made to vanish through bravado alone. “Well, you in particular, but in general, people who mess around with my family. There's an awful lot of you, and you're really beginning to make me angry. And you wouldn't like-”

Yui looks at you with confusion, while Akari's tail lashes violently, though she's still too angry to smile. “Ah, sorry, right. Anyways....where was I?” Letting go of your niji-chan, you step forward and poke the fedora you're wearing up so you can look at him from under the brim. “Oh, right. You really should pick on someone you own size,” you tell the eleven foot tall oni. “Like Akari, maybe. Or me. Oh, wait – Yui-niji-chan has been nice because you're family. Except you're not, not really....so I can tell her it's okay to fight back, and then you'll REALLY be in trouble.”

He points at you, an incredibly rude gesture. “I promise you, if you kill me, Ryuu Ryukusa, my brothers will come for you!”

Take a nap in the library, fighting skeletons all day is tiring.

After a night of merriment and casual conversations you find yourself staring down at your morning cup of coffee with baggy eyes.

We are in the year 2189, it is a warm early summer tuesday, or was it friday or saturday? Who cares, what matters is the world is fucked, you might tell yourself, it can't be that bad right? I'm still alive! But no buddy, you're wrong, the world as we know it today, sucks in all the bad ways, 130 years ago it might've been considered bad to be screwed over by sleazy car salesmen or have your mailmen not deliver that important letter on the day you expect it, those were things considered bad a long time back. But now? Now you won't have to bother about car salesmen, because you might as well spray "Shoot Me" on it after you drive it of the dealership, cars are not of much use anymore, except for scrap metal maybe, besides gasoline prices are worse than ever, not that they ever were that great to begin with. And don't even get me started on the mail situation. So pretty much 130 years ago the world went to shit, why? No one really knows anymore, some say it was global warming, others say it was a nuclear war, one might just blame Isreal. But no matter the world is a mess for the most part, the late years treated humanity better than before, on your travels you heard stories of larger settlements and cities still doing good on themselfs out there, one of them being the fabled Messia Springs, known as a paradise beyond the endless road, said to be a heaven on earth were there is milk and honey is said to pour out of the wells instead of irratiated water. But let's cut back to the important thing at hand here, YOU the most important thing in all of the wasteland. You set as your goal to reach Messia Springs to finally find peace and leave behind all the things that happend to you or maybe something else?

You rub your sleepy eyes, your bruised knuckles and hardend hands scratch over your skin like sandpaper, your tall lankey figure is reflected multiple times in the mirror's glass shards. You lift your arm to smell yourself, smells like spring flowers, doesn't it? Not that it'd matter how you smell, seeing how you were born on a dump site, you are made impervious to all sorts of smells. You around and observe the motel room from the doorframe of the bathroom. Your backpack is sitting quietly next to the saggy bed, a TV is laying tipped over infront of the bed on and behind a old dusty cupoard. A small lamp sits to the right of you on a small nightstand. You brush your old dirty clothes consisting of an old college jacket from the "Ala...ma" something college the other letters fell off a long time ago. to the left is a large window with the curtains pulled together to block the view out of the room. A small radio is sitting on a table next to the cupboard. You have a pistol which you left on a pillow on the bed, you've found it in an old busted police vehicle, your sense for shiny things hasn't let you down yet so you found it in quiet presitine condition, for wasteland standarts at least. You were lucky to find it because just after you picked the car clean a group of Scavengers turned up and planned on checking it too, thankfully your time of avoiding people made you into a great sneaker, they didn't even see you sneak away when you used an old cardboard box to sneak away from the site.

Welcome to Cyberninja Quest, aka Whose Cyberpunk is it anyway? Where the plot is made up and the Naruto doesn't matter.

The Year is 2XXX, and business in the Hidden City of Konoha is bustling, and that business is all out corporate warfare. With the end of the 2nd alien war, military spending is projected to fall dramatically, and the current glut of arms manufacturers, pharmaceutical suppliers, and infosec concerns can't last. Profits are down, unemployment is up, and as the competition over contracts grows ever fiercer companies that once seemed all powerful are now struggling to survive. Is this the first step on a long road to peace, or the prelude of a new war?

Sorry for being gone a few days, turns out running continuously for two weeks is a little straining even with a slow pace.

Naoko lunges at you with the sword, changing angle to follow you as you dodge. You slap the blade away and circle to her side. "Stop it. It's over. There's no point in continuing."

She follows the blade, rotates and comes at you with a slash "Giving up then?" You bend backwards under the slash, she adjusts into a downward angle, and you kick up into a backflip, knocking the blade away with your foot and landing in a crouch.

"Neither of us is getting anywhere. The only thing we're doing is wasting time."
"Wasting time?" She pauses for a second, frowning, and then her smile returns "Oh, I see. If you're too busy to start the mission I'd be more than happy to help you with whatever's keeping you! Please, enlighten me, your wish is my command!"

This is bad, she's going to stick to you. You need to get away from her. Excuses won't work, you need a distraction, something to explain your behaviour. It can't be a matter of pride, you just stopped fighting. What will throw her off the scent? You could decided to start that mission afterall, but it might be suspicious now, and you need time to figure out what to do about it anyway.

Wait a minute, think. Right after you go to meet Sugiyama, Naoko shows up at your apartment and demands you immediately come with her on a mission. It could just be the actions of a belligerent partner who hates you, someone trying to come up with an excuse to kill you and take your job, a suspicious partner who wants to keep an eye on you, or maybe someone trying to figure out whether Sugiyama gave you any missions you don't want Yutaka knowing about.

There are three scenarios. First, you don't have any assignment from Sugiyama, meaning you have nothing better to do, and no reasons save for personal dislike and/or distrust to not go with her. Second, you have a mission from Sugiyama, but it's one you plan on telling Yutaka about and/or sabotaging, and thus you would tell her to get rid of her. Last, if you had a mission from Sugiyama that Yutaka couldn't know about, you'd have to divert suspicion by making up a fake mission, or pretending you had nothing better to do.

Of course, every possible response leads to her sticking to you. She has absolutely nothing to lose by staying and nothing to gain by leaving. Likewise, any continued struggling just leads to increased suspicion about Sugiyama's assignment. No matter what, it doesn't look like you'll be getting any sleep.

Baal worked for one of Dahl's many Eridium mining operations on the planet before Hyperion succeeded in their massive hostile takeover of the whole planet. Blacker Baroness, as some of her co-workers call her, sits behind the computer she owns, looking at boring and useless documents for cars that no one will buy. She hears her flip-phone ringing at her pocket. Great, another caller. Just what she needs right now, she didn’t even get coffee.


Azkeroth turns on his TV as it’s slowly fading lights flicker back on for another game session. He sits down with a table in front of him, which holds a bowl of chips and soda. Rain or shine, school or not, worlding ending or not, he’s going to play some games.
That’s when he hears something moving behind him.

Bill sits down in a small dinner, pulling out a book with pages that were slowly turning yellow over the years. He always liked pulling it out when he had to wait for a waitress. A while after he has started to read, a waitress walks over to him. Her southern voice bursts out…
>”Hello, sir! What would ya like today? We’ll have some eggs that no ‘count anything for y’all.”
She giggles to herself.

Alodia hops out of her truck before walking over to her first house of the day, another day of work and all. A small boy walks out of the house, looking frustrated, as a man and woman exit the house and walk over to Alodia.
>”Hello, miss, I hope you’re having a good day today.”
The man talks in a small and quiet, yet nice voice.
The woman speaks up, looking energetic.
>“Well, howdy! It’s about time you got here! Now, listen, we have some boxes to move in blah blah…”
Alodia tunes out the woman’s voice as she sees the boy eyeing her down with a nasty look on his face. Strange, but nothing to make a fuss about, Alodia guesses.
>”Hey, don’t ignore me! I said to move the boxes in the bedrooms!”
The woman yells at Alodia, snapping her attention back.

Gabrielle sits behind her bar counter, bored stupid. It’s the morning, and due to last night’s party being a bit...too wild, the place has been closed down for a bit longer than usual to clean up all of the beer and vomit off of the ground. Gabrielle’s eyes shift as she notices someone she hasn’t seen before in the corner of the room. Strange, no one besides her and the cleaners were supposed to be here.

Shawn Blue sits in his room, with a whole set of DnD supplies littering the room. He loved these games, even if he didn’t understand how to play them sometimes. He looks for his pyramid dice as he hears his mom calling down from the room.
“Sweetie, it’s time for breakfast! I got your chicken tenders!”
Oh sweet!

Glimmer sits down at her computer, booting it up. She’s been well-known as one of the better CS:GO players, even as a girl. She opens up CS:GO as she gets a steam message from “ColdMan’sBalls”

Glimmer goes to answer it as, suddenly, her computer locks up. This is...strange.

The hive hums with activity, the laboratory illuminated with the soft glow of bioluminescence. Elizabeth examines the stacks of instruments and test samples spread out across the table before her as workers scatter around the chamber running machines and diligently manipulating new experiments. She keeps her gaze fixed on a small accelerometer sat on the workbench, her mind giving off waves of mental static in her focus. After some time of great mental strain, the accelerometer flashes a quick number along its display, and then begins to shake, scooting across the table. Elizabeth quickly shouts out in excitement as the concert of thinkers in the ceiling above gather the data with excitement as the small instrument quickly flies from its place on the desk towards Elizabeth to her surprise. She ducks quickly as it traces above her head and shatters against the face of a nearby worker. The drone chitters in a mad panic, its legs twitching in momentary confusion as it rapidly spins in circles to assess the situation, eventually settling down to look back at Elizabeth as it wipes at its face with its graspers.

“I'm sorry!” She says quickly. “I was just trying to get a reading and- I didn't hit you in the eye did I?” She quickly moves closer to try to examine the worker as it begins to pluck the shattered accelerometer up off the floor and carries the pieces off with an annoyed hiss.

Elizabeth turns back to the lab, this time with more care and an outstretched hand, and slowly the empty drink mug left on the table lifts into the air, and quickly floats into her waiting hand.

"It seems far more potent than I was expecting." She says as she examines the mug, looking to where several small cracks had formed from the telekinetic force. "I think at this point it's more a matter of practice than research, however."

With the help of some new friends -- Alex the enforcer, Nick the thief, and the Yamada family -- you went all-in and led a daring heist on the Triad's skyscraper fortress, Dragon's Nest. It went great until you got shot and fell off the roof, twenty-five stories down.

With luck or fate, and the help of your friends, you survived to tell the tale. Something happened, recently. There's some reason you're lying here. You can't really remember what. At least you remember who you are this time. No weird visions of ranches or detective offices. Just good old Johnny the thug, for better or worse.

You look to your right, feeling an odd warmth on your arm in that direction. Catherine is slumped against the bed, kneeling beside it while resting her head and arms on the quilt, her dark hair spread out on its surface. The warmth is her cheek resting against your bare arm. Her eyes are closed, her mouth open slightly. You can just hear the sound of her quietly snoring.

“Alright, everyone, settle down!” Griselda addresses everybody from atop her Sherman tank. “This weekend is our weekend off! And I intend to make the most of it! Because it’s almost time for FleetFest!” Everyone murmurs excitedly.

“FleetFest!” Suvorov pumps her fist. “Now I can finally discuss the finer points of the Napoleonic Wars with my colleagues at Kursk!”

“That’s nothing!” says Serafina. “We have friends across the pond who we can finally have conversations with in the native tongue!”

“Yes, yes.” Griselda calms everyone down. “But before all that though. It’s time we make preparations. Now, over the next week, the ships will start arriving slowly. And our ship has been selected to host the Commissioner of the NATO League and her people in the ballot voting for the All-Star Game next week! So I want everyone on their best behavior, and I want the best decorations and festival stuff! Let’s get on the bounce and show ‘em what LGA is really like!”

“Yeah!” Everyone starts dispersing to make their plans for FleetFest. You and your crew stand by Oliver. “Man,” says Winona. “To think we got this far.”

“Yeah!” says Stack. “We’ll make the All-Star Game for sure.”

“Actually.” Ingrid holds up a finger. “I checked the stats with the official NATO website. Elodie won’t have much of a chance of making it in.” Huh? You look to her. “Elodie’s been having an amazing second half, but the All-Star Game is all about people who are consistently good all through the tournament.”

“What are you talking about!?” Stack stomps her foot, glaring at Ingrid. “Ellie’s the best on our team! Have you seen all of her MVPs?”

“She’s actually considered the weakest part of LGA’s Big Three. Iris has the big guns and Griselda leads our team competently but Ellie’s good at both but not the best at either. Most analysts consider Ellie’s MVP awards the result of the fact that for most of our time in the tournament, we’ve been outnumbered. Therefore, the sample size is smaller. It’s much harder to get an MVP or any kind of kill title when you’re in a full team of twenty on the field,” Ingrid explains.

Stack huffs. “Stupid analysts. They ruin everything.” Ingrid quirks her brow at that.

ITT: we build a history / mythology of a fantasy world, one step at a time. Each post adds to the mythology (unless I veto it, but you guys know the sort of stuff that would shit up the game).

I'll begin.

"The race of Men awoke in darkness. Each man and woman thought themselves alone, for they had awoken in different glades in the great pine forest that covered all the land. There was no sun in those days, only the stars, and the silver light that shone from the moon; and that light did not grace them continuously. For months the Men wandered the land; it was silent and bereft of animals.

But after a time in which each wandered alone, a number of them found one another; and looked upon each other's hair and snow-white skin; and they knew that they were not alone and rejoiced. Together they ascended a slope to a treeless hilltop, and upon it they set a fire, and talked amongst themselves in a primal tongue. They were loathe to venture far from the hill and its orange light for fearing of being lost once again. Seeing the fire, others of the Men began to gather to the hill from far around, and it was named the Firelight Hill."

I'm quite bored so i thought about running a quest this Sunday night.

You see yourself in a bar at night, unsure about the reasons that led you to be there, but that didn't really bothered you... It was a quite crowded bar but weirdly silent, so silent you could hear the thin rain sobbing in the cobblestone streets outside of it.

You see a couple of weird figures and decide to talk to one of them, going straight to

The Voodoo man had flashy colourful clothes, he didn't used conventional methods such as stones, bones and other trinkets... Instead he used two small crosses of ivory. You observed him for some time and saw him acting.
He'd focus, close his eyes deep and asked the client to do just the same, then he'd write a number on a piece of paper and gave it to the client.
After that he noticed you and used his low and slow voice "do you want to know when are you going to die?"
