Snow capped Mountains rise around you and in front of you the sharp rocky steps continue to rise. You’ve already walked so far and are starting to get tired. You know the further you climb the better you will do but you should have gone far enough by now right?

What do you do ?

You sit down and take a breath letting your feet take a break from the harsh stone steps. Your
breathing slows down and just as you’re about to get up and keep walking.

“I thought you would have done better, this far is only good as an outer disciple. Well let's go find your master”

You feel arms in your armpit picking you up from behind and suddenly you're in the air as the wind blows past you. You’re carried further up the mountain and finally enter a great hall at the top.

“Sect Master this one only qualifies to be an outer disciple. Those three have been asking for assistant. Which one shall I send him to ?”

The young man behind you reports to the middle age man at the end of the hall.

“Uhh let him decide if I make a choice the other two will come bother me. So who do you want to take as your master ?”

You've had it with the Non-Orcs! For centuries, your people have lived in this frozen hellhole fighting over scraps, while those greedy bastards feast in the sunny plains! Thousands of years ago, your ancestors ruled them, and now, your people are nothing but a bunch of ignorant savages!

You've decided to rise up, take back Orckind's stolen inheritance, and put the Non-Orc filth in their place! It's not going to be easy, and it's going to take a damned long time to get there, but if, no WHEN, you do, you'll be remembered for all of time!

"It got eaten..." -says Portia with a sigh as the probe is destroyed shortly after being swallowed by the gigantic [ERROR]

Lyann holds and gently caresses our adopted little sister's hand, calming her down while looking towards us for help.

"That's alright." -we say calmly- "As it is, it will probably be weeks before we make even a dent on the data we got from it. This is a historical achievement."
"It is, it is." -reinforces Dawn as she pulls over a chair for us

She even added a 'Project Director' label to it, how nice of her!

"In the future, this will be remembered as the day we started fighting back. They will look back at us with awe."
"They will, they will." - repeats Dawn with a smile as she holds the chair for us

PPPFFFFFFTTTTTH!

There's a loud and clear farting noise coming from our seat once we lower our behind unto the pillow, and the strawberry succubus smirks and tries her best not to laugh.

"First man on the fart cushion! Historic!" -she says as seriously as she can, while pouring herself some tea, with somewhat trembling hands

Well, it made Portia laugh, so it's alright.... it's alright...

7 Years ago, a bright new world was called forth from the chaos. It’s people found themselves at the beginning of their time, in the stone age and lost in a sea of megafauna from bygone eras and metafauna crawling the countryside and the underside. Peopled with elves, dwarves, goblins, orcs, gnolls and faeries...and more and worse the years began to turn.

This is a civilization quest, not a text based PvP shooter, so expect more lore building than dominating your fellow players. We’ve developed a point system for leveling skills, technologies and construction to prevent a well worded action from granting OP swag and to allow for easily made up lost turns, or turn acceleration.

Eventually, there will be RPG quests for players based on the lore created during this phase.

https://discord.gg/AEWpRyq

Is our discord channel. We have several abandoned races, and others available. Currently things are low tech and there are no innately powerful races available. Pop in and introduce yourself if you’re interested in a long round of civilization quest.

With each turn, you get 2 actions. These are used to discover technologies, start building projects, scouting, trading expeditions, etc. You may roll and let the dice decide your fate, or “take 50” and just have an average success. Some actions will require a roll, even if you wish you could “take 50”!

Each turn you get 100 Passive points. These represent what your people are doing during your turn, other than the two actions. Passive points may be used directly to increase a technology, construction project, etc. Passive points are also used to level up your citizens.

Civilizations have notable citizens. These are the inventors, the generals, the kings, etc. For 1 passive point (1PP). You may single out an individual, and train them specifically, rather than just raise a civilization technology.

When training units, PP are used to level up your troops.

After a successful raid on the orc menance and massacuring about thirty of them the gnolls return home with joy and fierce pride in their hearts!

As a result this turn will be spent on celebration and commerating the archery range...once we get it finished that is...

Action 1(96,66): [Culture] Celebration of Victory against Orcs.
>Your celebration firmly cements archery into your people’s culture. The gnollnip is flowing free this season! Your veterans regale your people with stories deep into the nights, while Rogar inwardly wonders where the orcs fled to. On the night of the fall equinox, there is a hunter’s moon this year. Rogar slips out of the palisade for some solo night hunting. Still high on his victory against the orcs, he heads north, across river, looking for a large deer with some fine antlers for tool carving, and of course, to try and break the standing record. He spotted an all white stag in the moonlight, and the chase was on… Rogar intended to take this one home with him. He chased the deer for 2 weeks, tracking it at times, outsmarting it others, but never close enough to take the shot. Until that fateful dawn when he was hot on it’s trail. The two of them dashed into a clearing and Rogar pulled an arrow, nocked it and drew down on the magnificent deer as it bounded across the clearing. It sailed across the clearing at the it’s target… to be cont’d. +66 Archery Range from games and ideas during the celebration.

Last time monsters are about but so too are the monster hunters. You got rescued after being kidnapped. There is rumors of some kind of operation and you decided to go delving into some underwater ruins. Except this time you brought backup and snacks. Which you did admittedly had to deal with a bunch of monsters for...and sorta 'fell' through multiple walls. You're still very much hurting from that previous shenanigan, but hey ruins with possible treasures await! Especially one that is in much better condition then the last one you went into. Sadly this also likely means its much more dangerous too.

Welcome back to Cape and Colony Quest. Where you play a hero in a colony on a wild planet in a star system crawling with pirates and with your very own ship on the way. Hopefully the pirates or monsters don't wreck the place. Well on the plus side at least there aren't any aliens yet...

So what do?

Welcome back, to the (belated) 80th installment of Mecha Space Pirate Quest. I'm Wong, your host, and you are (when you're not the various tourney pilots) Admiral Roarke S. Starwind of the Iron Kestrels Space Pirate Fleet.

Some of you may be wondering "Wong, where were you!? Where was the thread!? Were you attacked by bears and/or antifa and/or bears with strong anarchocommunist beliefs!?"

No, the truth is far worse! I, Wong, had underestimated my seasonal migraines because they were so mild last year, and this time they came in a relentless fury! They were so bad that just looking at a light source, like a screen, felt like being kicked in the side of the head. Worse, they stopped me from getting any sleep, further weakening me and causing me to get a fever. I ended up taking a miniature vacation from work to get better, and at last I am restored to my usual strength!

...but this puts you in a difficult position, doesn't it, because you weren't expecting this thread today and probably won't see it for a few days if at all. After all, this is the first time the emergency backup date situation of "if I don't post the thread due to extenuating circumstances, it will be either up the day after or a week from that day" has come up, in all prior instances I was able to communicate with you somehow. Fear not! I, Wong, have a solution! I made this thread EARLY (well, earlier than Saturday), and will use it to post fluff stuff happening during the break between the first half of round one and the second half.

You are the former United States Navy warship USS HOEL, now returned as a shipgirl and ready to kick Abyssal ass!

Currently, you were looking at a very unusual looking shipgirl facing down a Ta-class Abyssal, a large lance held securely in her hands, a red and white pennant fluttering in the air. She was wearing what looked to be a medieval set of plate armor that seemed to be integrated with her Rig, and protruding from her back were a pair of steel "wings" with real feathers attached, similarly fluttering in the wind.

One look at her Rig, and you could immediately tell she was a fellow destroyer. Made a lot of sense, really.

"What's a Pole doing in the Pacific?" Repulse wonders aloud.

"How about you help me out with this damn kurwa first and maybe I'll answer your question!" The Polish destroyer spits as she dodges a volley from Ta-class, the heavy shells landing around her.

"Hoel, we've got Abyssal reinforcements incoming!" White Plains warns. "Me and the others are slowing them down, but they're going to link up soon!"

"How many?" You ask.

"At least two battlegroups!" White Plains grunts as you can hear the buzz of plane engines in the background. "Being led by some familiar faces!"

Crap.

this is my first quest so we will see how it goes

it won't be like a rpg quest like dungeons and dragons or anything but more like a choose your own adventure story on one go-through. i will make posts and at the end of each post there will be options as to what happens next. i will let you guys vote on it and whichever has the most votes will be what happens in the story. some options may have dice rolls. if an option with a dice roll is selected, i will roll the dice to determine what happens.

BACKGROUND

once colonies on other planets were established, the archaic way of determining the date was abondoned. if it was kept, however, the date would be December 3, 17444 when they finally drilled through the ice on "Artica", a moon of the gas planet "Saphire." the drill was not much different than that of an oil rig from the 21st century, and there were only about 100 people who worked on the drill. the last message sent from that drill was "we did it, we broke through, and we sent down the submersible, but it is picking up some very strange signals down from under the ice. we will send more info when we figure out what it is."

3 months later, there was still no word from them after that last message. a team was sent down from the closest orbiting space station to see why they stopped sending messages. all they found were bodies. this was on the news for months afterward, but what wasn't was on the news was that they brought several of the bodies back to the station to perform autopsies on. and what also wasn't on the news was that the drill started sending messages again, in the form of that same strange signal the submersible picked up months before.

NOTABLE MOONS:

Artica, similar to jupiter’s moon Europa is an ocean planet covered in ice. Its atmosphere is 99% co2 Scientists were drilling into it just to see what was under its surface

Amazon, the only moon that did not need to be terraformed. It has an extremely thick atmosphere and the air pressure at its sea level is 5.2 atm. It is covered in swamps and rainforests and produces 92% of the agriculture for the sapphire lunar system

Vulc, as its name suggests is extremely volcanic. The terraformation of the moon is incomplete, but it is livable, for the most part. At its equator it can get above the boiling point of water, but its north and south poles are somewhat temperate. It is mostly desert, with some lakes and savanna biomes at the north and south poles

New Hawaii, named so because 98% of the moon’s surface is covered in seawater. It was originally covered in ice similar to artica but was terraformed because there was actually landmass poking out of the ice. It is entirely composed of island chains and isolated islands. Almost 100% of every island is colonized so each island is governed like a city
>>
SPACESHIP CLASSES

transport, not powerful enough to even go between moons. only for short range transport between space stations and planets, or around planets themselves

lunar, can fly between moons and binary planets in a matter of hours. can be used to fly from planet to planet in a solar system if they are close together, but may take weeks or months to do so.

Solar, these still cannot move faster than the speed of light but can go a significant portion of it making it the best class to travel between planets.

galactic, these spaceships are practically cities themselves and massively warp space time to go from system to system. it takes weeks or months to get from one system to another, but these ships make it doable

Warp gates, these allow solar class ships to move between systems and quite literally act as a bridge from system to system. this makes interstellar travel easier, but sometimes one of the two gates break down destroying everything moving through it at the time

"did you finish replacing it?"
"yes i replaced it. next time you rent an apartment make sure the pipes can handle your urine"
stuff like this was common for John Wolf. being a plumber on a space station meant that all kinds of aliens lived on it, and some had urine so acidic or basic that it melted through the standard pipes on the station over time and special pipes needed to be installed so that they didnt corrode. those special pipes were extremely expensive however, so most never installed them. on space stations there was almost no middle class, only poor or rich, but John was an exeption. he was a specialty plumber, one that worked on potentially hazardous piping, so he gets paid a good amount, but not enough to be "rich" more "lower middle class".

John rode the elevator down to the 3rd street level, and got in his car. these cars are not like the ones you or I know, more like bumper cars at an amusement park. the wheels absorb electricity from the street to power it so that the tunnels and corridors of the station didnt get filled with exhaust. they were also different in that they were self driving, so john just plugged in his adress and the car moved on its own. it was a cheap car, but more than most could afford, almost everyone took the train, so the streets were almost never busy.

it was getting late, so john dozed off while the car drove itself, so he didnt realize it started glitching until it was almost too late. a t-junction was coming up and the car was about to slam right into a wall. john jumps awake and acts. what does he do?

>jump out of car and roll on the street
>pull the emergency brake (50% chance of working)

You should have trusted your guts, you should have ordered you men to wait....

You have underestimated them . The Doslok federation is known to have fierce, strong and underhanded fighters who can withstand even the worst situations.

Perhaps your temporary numerical superiority had inflated your ego to push onward into what seemed to be a war-torn city in the middle of no where. The ongoing conflict between the Galeon empire and the Doslok federation is somewhat recent. Both superpowers must expand. The galaxy is simply not enough for both.

It was a clear ambush and you walked right into it.

Every nook and cranny spawned a Doslok gnawer. While the ruined rooftops sheltered more sharpshooters. they were waiting for your men, their mandibles crushed pristine imperial Galeon, their bolts went through metal m flesh and bone alike....

You found yourself with an open wound, cornered at the sight of dozens of gnawers, the blood of your men dripping from their mandibles. It was the end.....

.
.
.
.

"...."

"The captain is finally awake, how about that...."

Your eyes flickered responding to external stimuli. Your vision was blurry but you can easily recognize horrid Doslok architecture. Spiral and Ugly, your eyes haven't laid eyes on actual good architecture for over six months as of right now.

Wait, why your innards are still intact not torn apart by these insect like creatures? why are you still alive?

You regained a bit of focus, that voice....feminine, raspy with occasional clicks. A Doslok doctor by the looks of her outfit . your wound was almost healed too, how thoughtful of them....

"Captain J.Oscar , Correct?" asked the doctor as she was checking the monitor next to your bed.

The Doslok remained silent for a moment, brushing your insult with a distinct click from her mandible "Arrogant as ever i see, According to our report, you have been more than a nuisance in the last six months. It does not matter, this planet shall soon belong to the Doslok federation . The last of your empire's colonies on this desolate planet are getting sorted out as we speak...."

The Doslok pointed upwards to the ceiling, you could see one of their Great wormship in its full glory slowly swimming in the skies with smaller ships escorting it. You have heard some horrid tales about these kinds of wormships. they can redeploy themselves as walking fortresses in almost any terrain making it a worthy foe in both land and air, their downside is the insane consuming for power and their rather weak joints in fortress mode.

The question remains, why would they bring a ship of that importance to a relatively low priority planet?

"Damen is the name, can't you get anything straight here?" you spat in anger. It was rather expected to see restrains coiled around your legs and arms. That would explain why the doctor is rather calm.

" hmm, must have been an error in the ID scanner. " The doctor pulled out a syringe with a bluish liquid inside. It had a small worm wiggling in anticipation.

"Where is my men? what the hell is this?"

"Please stand still, The hibernation worm requires extreme caution. Three of your men spazzed to death due to their incompetence. I am preparing your body for the hive drive... "

You wake slowly but surely, easing yourself up from the hard floor. It’s still not quite an easy sleep and you must admit that you somewhat regret letting Beatrice have the only mattress but it’s not a far cry from the countless nights you spent sleeping in the handcar along the railway. So it’s comfort enough.

The aches and pains across your body are naught but muted distractions now, your body having healed itself quite considerably. You rise and stretch, noticing Beatrice still asleep on the other side of the tiny room. She’s curled up on the mattress like a child.
Yesterday had not been good for her.

You can hear people all around you waking and climbing out of the little boxes that pass for rooms in the work-home. No doubt they’re all preparing for another day’s hard labour. But not you. You’ll not be spending today chipping away at brick and stone. Today you can feel a fire blaze within you and it burns hot.

Wick: 10/10
Spark: 8/8

The witch confirmed the identity of one of the sinners you have come to punish. The Green Flame Consortium that spews blasphemous parodies of the sun’s light all across this city. Today will not end until their stolen spark is in your hands.

Anger. Anger. ANGER. The word keeps repeating over and over in your mind as you drift, formless, in the crimson energy that makes up Khorne’s domain. You’ve been humiliated again. No matter what you do, no matter how much you train and prepare, She keeps defeating you without so much as breaking a sweat. It’s been like that ever since She first butted in your fight against an Ork Warboss and proceeded to take one of your horns. Nowadays you don’t have any horns, or even a tail, thanks to Her. You’ve become a laughing stock among other daemons. It’s beyond infuriating.

The only thing that lets you keep reconstituting in the Warp after dying is your boundless rage. That drive and lust for conflict is part of your very nature, being a daemon of Khorne. No matter the cost, you will one day end Her. But something has to change. Such as you hate to admit it, you’ll never emerge victorious as you are now.

This time, as you reform in the depths a Blood Pit, a pool of molten brass, blood, and the bile of Khorne himself, you focus your entire being on Her. Every single ounce of will you can muster is devoted into becoming something, anything, capable of vanquishing your foe. And with that exertion, you begin to feel your body changing. Muscles bulge, bones lengthen, and claws harden. You seem to be drawing the very essence of the Blood Pit into yourself.

Naturally, you focus even harder. Damn the consequences. Even if you come out looking like a warped Flesh Hound it’ll be improvement from what you once were.

If you’re a die-hard lover of canon, I suggest you turn away now. Like all things 40k, the gauntlet runs from “worshiping the printed word” to “over the top silliness.” Most of the time it’s somewhere in between. Others it swerves hard to one side and/or breaks this model entirely. You’ve been warned in advance.

Alternatively, if you’re not at all familiar with canon or want more details on something, just ask! You don’t need to have played the original Khornette Quest to play and enjoy this one. I’m sure someone (or I) will explain any cameos that come up if you’re lost.

All rolls go against a specified characteristic in the style of Black Crusade. You’ll want to roll under the characteristic value in order to pass the check. The more degrees of success (every multiple of 10 counts as 1), the more awesome of a result. A 1 or an 8 is a guaranteed success, and a 100 is a guaranteed failure.

Best of three rolls when it’s called for, with a 1, 8, or a 100 instantly taking precedence. If multiple characteristics are being rolled for each 1d100 counts for its respective test. Any rolls prior to the call for one and those not linking said post will be ignored.

I realize that /qst/ is much slower than /tg/ ever was, but I’d like to keep things moving. Voting windows will be twenty to thirty minutes after the first vote. Same goes for dice rolling. As far as quest time goes, I’ll always start writing at 8pm EST on Wednesday. I’ll keep posting updates in the thread through Thursday and Friday unless otherwise specified, usually around that 8pm time window. It really depends on how active you guys are.

I think that’s it housekeeping-wise for now. Onto the quest!

As the Blood Pit slowly drains away from you, you uncurl from the ball you find yourself in. You use one of your hands to prop yourself up into a seated position. Every single bit of your being feels as if it’s on fire. Looking down, several things become readily apparent:

1. You’re no longer the runty Bloodletter you once were. You’re a bit over two and a half meters of red and black, rippling flesh from the ends of your clawed, brass-colored, digitigrade feet to the top of your head. Or so you judge looking at your legs and torso. You have the body of a prized-fighter, every inch designed to strike fear into your opponent. There’s even the Mark of Khorne on the interior of your right thigh.

2. Your tail is back! Long, thick, and spined, it ends in a brass-colored spearhead. Seeing it returned to you fills you with glee. As you look around, you feel a somewhat familiar weight on your head. When you reach up to feel, your hands runs along the curves of not one, not two, but four horns. Two are smaller, while the other two run along the curve of your head. Much like your tail, their restoration brings you joy.

3. Once your initial surge of sensation and excitement begins to abate, you realize something very important. Those aren’t lumps of muscle on your chest. Those are breasts. And no normal daemon of Khorne would have curves like this. You gasp and are instantly surprised by the sound. It’s unmistakably feminine.

It takes you a moment to put all this together. Best you figure, your undying hatred of Her resulted in a fairly logical conclusion. What better way to defeat your enemy but by becoming like them? As a daemon of Khorne, you’ve never really cared about what gender you were or what form you have, only that you’re able to take skulls and spill blood in His name. So while this transformation is new, it’s not entirely unwelcome. In fact, you almost revel in it. It’s just the sort of thing that might give you an edge over Her.

“Oi! Are you a daemon of Khorne or one of sloth?”

You look about and realize there’s a Furnace Daemon waiting near the edge of the now-drained Blood Pit. Next to the Bloodletter-sized Khornate is a pile of various daemon-forged weapons. All around you, you see countless other Blood Pools from which daemons of all sorts are spewing forth. There too are other Furnace Daemons, handing out weapons and tasks.

“Well?” he growls. “Do you have a brain or should I return you to the pit in the hopes a proper daemon forms?”

> [1] Ignore him and continue to take stock of your new form
> [2] Respond as any Khornate would. Insult him and demand a weapon.
> [3] Test out your new body by challenging the Furnace Demon to a duel. That’ll show him what kind of daemon you are (WS)

PREVIOUSLY ON STARSHIP IDOLS: http://suptg.thisisnotatrueending.com/qstarchive.html?searchall=Starship+Idols

“Crewman Daiko Sena, reporting for duty!” She salutes as she holds her dufflebag of personal effects under her arm. Her Fleet utility blues were ironed and cleaned judging by the lack of any real flaw to them. Even her hair appears to be done up well. She really wants to impress you. “My orders!” She hands off a slip of papers to you. “I am to join the Starship Idols detachment until I am either dead or I am transferred!” She bows to you. “I will do my best, Lieutenant!”

You have to admit, it's quite nice to have Fleeties getting their noses brown for you. “Alright, alright.” Today's work was geared towards rehearsals. So right now, you and Daiko were standing outside the Annex, sorting this all out. “So. Daiko, what are you good at?”

“Er.” She blinks. “I am not good at anything!” she declares at the top of her lungs.

Well. If there’s anything your Career Sergeants have told you during your training, if you do something wrong you might as well do it so wrong that other people think you’re right. That, and the person who knows nothing can learn everything. “Right. Here’s what we’re going to do, Daiko. You’ll serve as a personal assistant to the Idols for now. And we’ll see how things go. Perhaps we may even need a Fleet Groundside Liaison to match Naka’s FTL.”

“Groundside Liaison?” Daiko frowns a bit. “That’s… erm.”

“Something the matter with that?”

“Well. Being an FGL is kind of…” She leans closer to you. “I mean, you don’t enlist in Fleet to do Mobile Infantry stuff, right? I’m not saying I don’t want to do it! But- Fleeties have very low opinions of FGLs.” Daiko says, “I heard once that a man enlisted into Fleet to be closer to his wife who was a fighter pilot. But the man enlisted as an FGL, so the wife divorced him!”

“That’s crazy talk,” you say.

“Oh, is it?” she says, trying to make it not sound incredibly crazy.

“Yeah. It is,” you say again, more firmly.

“Oh.” Daiko rubs the back of her head. “Well. I will do anything you ask, Lieutenant, as long as you give me a chance!”

“I already have a person for that, thanks.”

> “Now go help the Idols with whatever they need.”
> “I’ll go find someone to train you in FGL work.”
> “Just sit back and watch how the Idols perform on stage.”

House Blackett.png

Four hundred some odd years ago, Harwyn Hoare granted a dark, cold piece of swampland to Darvin Blackett. Blackett, a raider and warrior of some renown, took this as a personal insult. His revenge was twofold: Firstly, his family aligned with the Mallisters of Seagard, turning into a longstanding opposition to the Ironborn raiders, the Riverlands' very own leashed saltborn murderers. Secondly, his family has set about becoming some of the most skilled and influential governers in history. Oh, they're not well remembered, few outside personal allies and friends recall their names and deeds, but everyone knows about the Blue Canal. Dug by Logar Blackett, the canal lengthened the Blue Fork, creating a deep crossing to allow trade to flow east and west through Westeros, instead of having to take the long route down around Dorne.

Now, your family has had a long and storied history, but that's not something to worry about right now. Right now, you are Lord Vickon Blackett, and you've just seen your guests all on their way. Finally. You are not the game playing sort of lord, no, you're the fighting and warring sort. Thus, the feast you held was... trying. It had a few good points, though. A Freyspawn, Merrett you think his name was, tried to drunkenly challenge you in your own home, insulting your wife-to-be and daughter both. Breaking his teeth and his sword both felt very, very good. What also felt pretty nice was having your wife-to-be, Mariya Darry, hanging off your arm the whole rest of the event. It made you feel... young, again. Like you're making the right choice in moving on. The inspection of the gathered warships for the first patrol along the coast went off without a hitch, and you had friendly words with several young lords and knights about working together in the future.

And now, you move on to business. Your wedding is next month, but this month you still have war games with your neighbor and protege, Ser Willar Silverwood.

But... wait. Are you Lord Vickon Blackwood?

Welcome to A Song of Revenge and Gold: House Malroy Quest. In which you take the reins of a House of storied glorious past since Aegon’s Conquering, but whose fortunes have taken a turn for the worse in the doom that Robert’s Rebellion brought. You are Brynden Malroy, second son to Lord Vamos Malroy and Lady Esemella Hayford and the last living heir to Steadhold and House Malroy. The year is 285AC, two years after the Rebellion and a year after your return to Westeros.

House Malroy is a pre-genned House designed around the idea of a story within the Crownlands of a House fiercely loyal to the Targaryens and their attempts to live in this new world after Robert’s Rebellion. Lord Brynden Malroy is as well pre-genned but will take direction from the players in his ways and how he develops himself further. This Quest will be moderately more story driven than others of its kind, but the development of the House and her lands will take just as much importance.

If you’ve played one of the many Quests within the ASoIaF setting the rules of the SIFRP system should be known. I will be using the Game of Thrones edition, as well as a few of the expansions namely OOSP and a few house rules which will be explained as we come to them. If you have questions about how things work or why certain actions are taken I can explain them as we go along. In truth this is a learning experience for me as well.

[Month II, Week iii]

“You look a mite greensick there, Mas. Touch paler than usual, eh?”

“Oh piss off Lucas.”

Victor and Lucas roar with laughter, the latter hadn’t ever experienced Mason’s extreme dislike for the open sea. The Blackwater Bay was choppy this time of year, you remembered as much from your youth, sailing with Donold, Pastorn and your father to Driftmark. He had considered attempting to marry either yourself or Donold to a cousin of the main branch, the match hadn’t been particularly good you knew now but Donold hadn’t particularly done himself any favors with his disregard for the fairer sex in pursuit of more military ideals. You had always wondered why Donold never married in the years you were away from home, at least to create an heir. He was a practical man, not foolish. He knew he was the first-born, the heir. It never quite made sense to you. Suppose it didn’t matter now you think, eyes cast upon the sea to the east.

“It’s good to have you aboard Lord Malroy, how does the sea treat you?” Ser Jon Longwaters says as he approaches, heavy boots upon the deck of his Oakenfist, the old dromon shuddered and creaked as it fight through the waves but it was a formidable, a capable warship as far as you could tell at least. House Lognwater’s colors were proudly displayed upon the the three sails, shields upon the bulwark representing both his own House and sworn swords and those that you had brought as well.

“A fair touch better than my old friend,” you respond with a laugh, clapping Ser Jon on the shoulder and taking his extended hand with a smile upon your lips, “And Jon, it’s Brynden, you know that. And again. Thank you for providing ship to Wendwater and the invitation. Are your men excited for the Tourney?”

“Very. I’ve only a handful of Knights, Ser Haldan Rambton, Jorod Blackberry, Donnell Waters. Good men all. Your own?”

“Mason, Victor, Lucas, obviously,” you rattle off flicking your fingers, “Couldn’t resist bringing a few of the men from the Melee as well. Ser Jon Pryor, Jon Pyle, Titus Sarsfield, Duncan Ureye, and Aden Brune.”

“Does Ser Dontos intend to compete?”

You shrug slightly, again casting eyes to the sea, “Unknown as of now. He insisted upon coming when I told him that Victus would be joining me.”

The truth of it was you absolutely refused to leave Victus behind. The two of you hadn’t spent the sort of time together that you had wished in the past few months. With the wedding looming large in your mind and all that would bring. Steadhold would be filled to the brim with those you needed to entertain and mingle and… Attempt to not actively dislike. At least your sister would be home you remember and a warmth fills your chest.

Lucas had received an invitation from Lord Wendal Wendwater about a month ago, he had explained when the idea came up to take some time away from Steadhold prior to the wedding and the next few months thereafter, the Invasion of the Princewood looming heavily in your mind, might be good for you and your men. Take some aggression out, work out the kinks, keep everyone fresh and ready for the war upon the horizon.

As it happened Lord Wendwater’s youngest sister had been Lucas and Jon’s mother, she had passed giving birth to their own sister some years back, a fact he rarely spoke of. Jon had maintained a somewhat decent relationship with his uncle, and his cousin Ser Weldon Wendwater had been insistent the both of them attend. Lucas decided however to make an event of it, proposing to hold a ‘stag party’, your last hoorah before marriage took you. Lady Racheal Conklyn hadn’t been fond of the idea herself you learned later when a red faced Lucas sheepishly entered your solar the night after proposing the idea during dinner. You hadn’t been particularly interested in the idea of the stag party itself the other excuses to get out a bit and forget the worries of home if only for a few weeks had been tempting and here you were. Upon the open sea with a cadre of men of varying marital status’ and all rearing for a fight. The Tourney was to include a joust, melee, squire’s melee, an archery contest, and varying other events. Jon had told you that Lord Wendwater was hosting a delegation of Stormlanders, specifically Lord Ralph Buckler, the Lord of Bronzegate. A marriage proposal was in the works you had surmised with the Knight of Longhall but it wasn’t quite your business regardless. What was your business was the prize for the archery contest, a solid thousand dragons. Mason and Lucas had both expressed interest in the Joust and Melee, three thousand and two thousand dragons respectively.

Ser Jon stands in silence alongside you for a moment later before chuckling at Lucas and Victor’s prodding of Mason and taking leave of you to disperse his brother and your Knight and leaving Mason to his vomiting. You glance about the deck and notice Victor, Arron Qorgyle, Edmund Pryor, and Grant Conklyn taking their midday meal together. Dontos, your uncle, was practicing with who you presumed was Ser Jorod Blackberry. A couple of your Knights were about as well, Jon Pryor and Duncan Ureye meeting with Lucas Longwaters.

Who to talk to?
>Your son, Victus Waters, and the squires, seeing what sort of nonsense they've gotten into or plan to be getting into.
>Your uncle, Ser Dontos Malroy as he practices.
>Your Knights, Ser Lucas Longwaters, taking your midday meal with them.
Alright so this is going to be a flashback thread, happening between the Melee of Steadhold and the Wedding. I needed to find all of the character's voices again and figured this would be a good way to do it. The next thread will be us returning.
