You feel an... emptiness about yourself. Looking over your body, you don't even have any features. Just a silhouette. However, the fatigue in your head makes you think it might just be an inability to focus.

Across from you, however, is a plenty-featured man. Lanky, tall. Smug. He rests with his back to a crumbled pillar, his air of assumed superiority palpable even in his injured state. Blood drips from your hands, each drop feeling like a punctuation to the vicious description for as to how you attacked him.

"Hey there. I'd like to say we have all the time in the world, but we don't. It looks like you forgot who you are, and I didn't figure out who you were before you managed to nearly kill me."

The air remains dead with a faintly awkward aura. The man resumes speaking without much of a thought.

"Good grief, just look at you, it's so bad you even forgot how you looked."

You look back at your hands again, and it's true. It wasn't a trick of the eye, you appear to just be a faded, smokey black silhouette with no real distinct features other than the blood on your knuckles and palms.

"Now thankfully, we don't need to play twenty questions here, as there's only seven people you could be."

He snaps his fingers, before a silvery, rippling-water like portal falls through the air, creating seven floating cards in its place. Each plain white, sans a pair of kana with each one. Names.

"To keep it simple, I'll give you the important information first so that way your memories may surface more clearly. There's a war right now. A war between me and someone else, and right now the city of Fuuto as the battlefield. Three are on my side unknowingly, three are on his side without choice. There's one who's in-between. I'll point to a card, give you their name, and a little rundown about them. It should help you determine if they're you or not. As for who I'm fighting, I wish I could tell you but even I don't really know who he is. I just know who's working for him and who isn't. If you turn out to be on his side, I guess you'll find out."

Starting with the leftmost card, you can suddenly more clearly read each one as he goes down the line.

"Tsugami. Son of Shouichi, his name is Sokichi. Always loved names like that. An Agito like his father, though for some reason Shouichi never trusted him using it. The one time I ever did see Sokichi transform, he turned into a green monster. He nearly killed me! Which is funny, since he's on my side. He uses the G3-X system to fight, given to him by, as he calls it, 'Uncle Makoto.' Good-hearted, but pretty timid when he's not on the job, makes me think he doesn't feel very sure of himself. Has a habit of knowing your name before you say it. He calls it a journalist's intuition. Speaking of which, he's a freelance investigative journalist. I was thinking of calling him Nogito. Short for Novus and Agito, but he isn't much of one at the moment, now is he?"
Beneath the kana manifests two helmets. One of a green, almost bug-like creature baring its fangs. The other of blue and silver helmet, sporting three horns above its red eyes.

"Kagami. Son of Hiiro, named Yuumu. Never did figure out when he found a girl to do that with, and I never bothered to ask. Somehow compatible with the Gamer Driver system. Has access to one of two Gashats, I can't remember which. Real fighty type, has his dad's ego but instead of stroking it by being a master surgeon, he got into martial arts. Also one of mine, the first I recruited. He's either going by Box or Sect, but if that's you, you'll figure it out."

"Minami. Son of Kotaro, his name's Shinji. Are you seeing a trend, here? It's an accident, I swear my life on it. Shame, he was probably the most normal one, other than his dad. I don't have anything against Kotaro either, it's just he's a very paranoid guy after the Golgom stuff. Didn't help his son got kidnapped by a remnant. Stuffed him with the same old Kingstone as his dad, was never the same. Real quiet, very abrasive type, but he intends to help more than anyone else. As such, he's my third and final fighter. I think he's got an NX in his title, calls himself the heir to the sun, since Golgom calls him the 'Return of the Black Sun' or some trash like that."

Calls it the 'Sonic Driver,' has little discs called 'Beats.' From what I've seen of him, he means well, but I don't see him rebelling any time soon. He's the only one of that bunch I definitely trust, however, since he helps everyone. Calls himself Kamen Rider Sonic, feel free to guess what he does based off of those discs. Two Century Kings to a battle, they fight, winner rules whatever's left of them for fifty thousand years. Kirin here apparently is the moon to Minami's sun. Has a Kingstone combined with... something. I don't know what exactly to call it. He calls it Laplace. He's trapped in his suit, and I think it pisses him off. He told Minami that if he wins the fight, he can turn off the contraption and finally be human again. Real light show of a suit as well, when it's time to fight. Very hostile, loud guy, a definite opposite to Minami. If you're him, you have my apologies."

I don't really know much about him, other than he's a bit of a romantic type I guess you could call it. Real fluffy wording, romanticizes everything, acts like he's in some sort of noir novel. STAT OVERVIEW
Each stat acts as a bonus to a roll for the relevant stat. IE, POWER would be used to punch a monster. After rolling a 1d6 and getting a 3, a POWER stat of 2 would make it a 5, which is fairly good.
POWER: How hard you deliver justice.
INT: How cleverly you deliver justice.
HEART: How badly you want to deliver justice.
GUTS: How much you can handle as you deliver justice.
SKILL: How stylishly you deliver justice.

For numerical reference:
1 = Lowest possible point. If it's INT you're either a moron or just have a very one-track mind, if it's HEART you're sort of evil.
2 = Extremely average human.
3 = Noticeably above average for a human, but about average for a karate bugman.
4 = Definitely above average, even for a karate bugman.
5 = Above and beyond even others.

(Credit for stats idea goes to Dangerous Zombie, the OP of the Kamen Rider Chronicle Quest!)

You pick who we are. Voting ends in 15 minutes.

The Raiders – Part 13

For the price of a weapon that might as well be a Silver Sword, you have bought - or perhaps secured – Yashi's loyalty. That won't make her any less of a drama queen or a danger in general, but it will ensure that she stays with you when you leave the safety and security of the Stronghold and strike out on your own to avoid being eaten by the all powerful ruler of your race.

You're hoping that's just a euphemism, but you're really doubtful.

She has also stated that it is very possible that she, with the help of Rana Najla and yourself, can heal the severely damaged mind of one of your three slaves, the sweet natured and utterly broken Cyrillian. The possibility of her being useful to you in the capacity of a spy and intelligence operative if you do so is very high; you are uncertain, as of yet, if you want to subject your other two slaves to the trauma of returning to the physical world or if you want to sell or give them to trustworthy and allied slave keepers of your race. Technically you could free Yustuoc and she would be all right, but you've broken poor Mayune a little too well, and abandoning Cyrillian would be like tossing a newly hatched feral githyanki into the Ether to be eaten by brain moles and ethereal slayers.

Jiyua has made good on her promise to enchant the living metal rune embedded in your cheek, and you now possess the power of the run of the Inscrutable one. Not only does it protect you from both scrying and divinations, it will help make you aware of such attempts. A quick study in the mirror shows the painted symbols and marks she used are gone, subsumed by her enchantment.

Now you get to decide what to do with the poor scared little skulker.

[] Let her enjoy the Colloquy a while – she's not part of your cadre but she earned a respite.
[] Dismiss her with a warning/encouraging word or three for later use.
[] See if she's responsive to being played with before sending her on her way with no further owed favors.
[] Play with Yashi a bit and see if you can learn more about the lesser gish's capabilities.
[] Write in?

Vaguely feeling this, but more just tell her her presence is no longer required and see if she tries to leave as soon as is politely possible.

This is a memory.

You are seriously hungover. Your stomach is twisted into knots and the inside of your eyelids feel as though they've been coated with salt. Last night, hell, the last three days are nothing but a slideshow of vaguely connected images. You barely remember why you came to APE-3.

Oh yeah, the Calvonians.

You reach under your pillow and pull out the water bottle that you stashed there last night. You rinse and spit on the barracks floor before taking another slug.

You haven't been this fucked up since the night after you volunteered for the Federal Republican Navy. Why were you drinking again? Oh yeah, you were grounded.

After landing you had encountered the local Republican Navy Planetary Administrator. He'd stripped you of your brevet rank of Sergeant and told you and the surviving members of your sector not to go any-goddamn-where. Looking around at the empty barracks you realize you must have been the only one who listened..

>Head out into the camp and look for the rest of your survivors
>Sneak out of the barracks the back way and slink your way back to the bar
>Turn on your Navy-Issue radio and try to catch up on the news
>Go pilfer the other survivors belongings
>Try and get the barracks coffee machine working

You walk over to the barracks coffee machine operating console and sit down in the swivel chair at the center of the controls. Normally a trained technician makes the morning coffee for you and your fellow pilots but there is no one with the sufficient credentials to make coffee on APE-3.

Some of the controls are labeled:

>Caffeine Concentration
>Bitterness
>Adrenal Components
>Mood Suppressants
>Coloration
>Hyperidnia
>Triglomerides
>Civet Emulation

There is also a large button with a sharpie on masking tape label that simply says "EMERGENCY".

>Write-in what kind of coffee you're going to make using three of the above factors. Post with seconds will win.

Welcome yet again to our production; Starborn For Hire Quest! The carriage rolls onwards, with the bodyguards now joining everyone else in the rather luxurious seating. After that incident, it was deemed they’d need a bit of rest- the Harwolves likely would’ve scared anything else away. And apparently, that wasn’t the only reason. The countryside rolls, by uncaring of the bombshell that was just dropped.

The sound Purps makes is...unique, to say the least. Kinda like a gasp of rage, shock, embarrassment, laughter, all in one go. “Come again?”

Switchwick sighs as you lean on the edge of the carriage, desperately trying to not look their way. The grin would probably just piss her off. “I was hoping that, considering the horrible incident that happened to Billie, that you would, well…”

“Take her place!?” Purps repeats; you think she’s incredulous but it kind of comes out the same as everything else she says, not that you’d really blame her. Sounds like Switchwick’s had it in for the girl since she met her, mostly. Can’t really understand why she’d ask Purps to do something so important if she didn’t like her, though. Seems like it’d be an easy way to cause problems. But, hell, she’s the client. Not gonna argue. “Why the hell me?”

That better not be an implication. “Well, let me put it this way.” Switchwick says patiently, “Verde’s Northern looking. You’re not.” ...Hm.

“Okay. That does not explain- why me?” Purps demands. You decide to risk taking a peek in her direction- the girl’s staring her down with clenched fists. You kinda hope she’s not gonna haul off and try to punch the lady. You’d hate to interfere, but that’s your paycheck there.

She fixes Purps with an imperious stare. “Because, it was initially suggested by Vernon - and while I told him where to shove it at first...” She pyramids her fingers, while the girls look back and forth as if this is some tennis match. “He says you are an adept singer and dancer.”

“I might be. But I’m not a siren.” Your comrade protests.

“Which is why you will only be in duets and group numbers where my girls will handle all the magic.” Man, Purps’ face is starting to take on the same color as her hair. Honestly kinda funny. That said…

You were a former soldier of the last war.

You'we seen it all.
The beginnings that kinda creeped on to the population of the whole world. One proxy war that led onto another, a whole decade of war abroad, the small nations just paws in the bigger game of world superpowers. But then the war started to creep closer and closer to the home borders, the flames that burned for so long in the far distance now on ones own doorstep. The threats of the superpowers turning from words to deeds...
Deeds that swept clear the face of the world with nuclear ashes and turned the sky to fire. You were there when the remains of the governments fought over what was left of their power, a global economy now reduced to fight over what little uncontaminated resources remained.
In that time a new 'leader' rose every week out of the rubble that remained and fell the moment another asshole with more guns or men shoved up. You were part of those groups, some times on the winning side, some times on the loosing one. The world has gone to shit and molded you into a part of it.

And then... The fighting just suddenly stopped one day... At a pre-war world population of 11 billion one would think that there would be no end to fighting, that there will be an infinite supply of more meat that could be thrown into the grinder. Each fight you were a part of a smaller group than before. But... One day you just kinda found yourself alone. The people you knew died off from violence... From sickness... And hunger... So much hunger....

Your stomach growls.

You sit by the road, leaning your back on twisted metal that once was a car and open your backpack.

This quest, as the title suggests, takes place in the world of Dragon Ball. You're playing as a twenty-two year old man named Tofoo, and will adventure through the story of the Dragonball series alongside characters such as Goku, Yamcha, Bulma, Tien, and many others. Through your actions, you can make significant changes to the story, and perhaps even become the strongest fighter on Earth.

>Rules

At the end of each update you'll have ten minutes to vote on options. Write-ins are allowed, but I do reserve the right to veto them.

In the event of a draw, the option to receive the next vote wins

Rolls will be used on certain occasions, such as attempting a technique for the first time or attempting something extremely difficult. You will have three rolls, and if one succeeds, you succeed. There are no crits.

Rolls are made AFTER an option wins, not during the voting process

I hope everyone has fun.

It is the Year of Our Lord 1120. You are Victor Reis, a Knight-Captain of the Order of Brothers of the German House of Saint Mary in Frankfurt (The Teutonic Order.) You had come to the Holy Land after a request for aid from your brothers in the newly-formed Templar order, and traveled with them to a mountain pass Northeast of Acre, and joining a Saracen horde in battle there, suddenly found yourself in another world, along with your Teuton brothers and Templar allies.

"That's an amazing tale. Would you like to hear ours? Cellica was almost done with it, so I'll let her tell it."

Natalia nods, smiling. "Of course. I believe you two were freeing the prisoners?"

Marcus looks at your questioningly, as you didn't get to that part of the story, but you wave him off. You'll fill him in later. Turning to look at Cellica, Natalia and Marcus stare at her, waiting patiently.

After focusing for a bit, Cellica nods. "Yep! We freed everyone, and then headed to the Matriarch's tent. She had done... something with the pleasure slaves inside, and used their vitality to become a monster." Cellica makes a little face, and imitates what the Matriarch's head looked like, using her fingers to replicate the fangs.

"She had a buncha' mouths, everywhere, which were all breathing a weird fire. I... got hit, and Victor carried me outta there. From what my father tells me, Victor did as well. After that, we were taken to Mornaur, and we recovered! After that, we left for here!"

Satisfied with herself, she seems to be finished, but remembers something, holding up a hand. "Oh oh oh! I'm also now the official Ambassador from Mornaur to you... uhh... Teutons, was it?"

Marcus kindly supplies an answer, grinning. "Not just Teutons, we've got Templars too, but you'd call us Crusaders, overall."

Nodding graciously, Cellica points at Marcus, saying, "Yes, that! I'm the official Ambassador to you Crusaders!"

Standing up, Natalia smiles at you, Marcus, and Cellica. "Well, this has been a lovely, but I must be going. I've things to do. Farewell."

Watching her go, grinning, Marcus pats you on the back. "Like the Lady said, it's been wonderful, but I have to go now. Who knows? Maybe we'll get a chance to travel together, someday!" Following Natalia out, Marcus leaves you, Cellica, and Edgar alone in the tent. Looking at you questioningly, Cellica seems to ask, 'What now?'

Good question. You aren't on duty, and you don't suppose there are any missions for you to do, at least, not until the map of the surrounding area is completed.

Choose three.

>Train Edgar. This world is dangerous, and you'll need him to be knighted soon.
>Oversee the training of your newly expanded force. Make sure they work together well.
>Train with Marcus. It's been a while, it'll be good to reminisce about the past.
>Train with Natalia. She's interesting, and might prove to be a valuable ally.
>Train with Cellica. She has a... unique style of fighting, and you'll need to learn how to utilize that in combat effectively.
>Take care of Gunnar. He's a good horse.

Well we have quite a few problems that need to be taken care of. First off finding who blew up our ride and making his day significantly worse.

We also have a problem with this abandoned craftworld not exactly being abandoned. Seems some other Eldar decided to show up and from the psyker's description they are not here to play nice. Also it seems there is a daemon here and Heresy cannot stand while you serve the Emperor.

Then there is the item that the fucking clown has promised you. Really that fuck likes to avoid giving you details like this.

Well you and your two buddies the half insane zealot Mark and the unstable at best psyker Terisa. Oh this is going to be a lovely trip though the craftworld.

Welcome to Guardsman quest.

we are re-voting on the last decision since it landed in the equal vote point so your options were
>[1] get to the Ordo Xenos troops, ya sure there is a daemon but it is lesser so not that bad, also they can help with the Eldar problem (ag, int, per)
>[2] have Terisa guide you to the warp signature, if she freaked out that hard from sensing it then that might be the thing that clown wanted you to have (int, per, Terisa's wp)
>[3] time to do Ordo Xeno's job for them, space elf extermination time, lets clear out a few rooms (bs, bs, bs Mark ws, Terisa's wp)
>[4] remove the daemon, its a fucking daemon and you are a daemon hunter, things like this are destiny (bs, Mark ws, Terisa's wp, int, ag)
>[5] try to disable the guns, you are going to need a way out so may as well make it easy for you now (int, ag, per, tgh)

New players are always welcome!

In this quest you assume the role of an aspiring student who is about to enter the Mageknight Academy. You must hone your skills, make some friends (and perhaps also some enemies) and fight battles in order to prove yourself worthy of graduating as a fully fledged Mageknight! Each year (every 100th turn) your character will be tested by the academy to see if your character is progressing well and meeting the Academy's high standards. After the 3rd year your character will head off into a their first mission for a final test.

How to Join:
New players must fill out their character sheets. The sheet must include the following information:
>Anyone can join at any time. Latecomers and laggers are given bonus action points to catch up with the other players.
1) Your character's full name
2) Your character's backstory, appearance and any other useful information.
3) You are given 3 Skill Points. Choose 1 starting spell and 2 other skills or spells.

How to Play:
1) Each turn you will be given 2 [Action Points]. Post your character sheet and your chosen actions along with a 2d100 roll.
>Normally your roll must pass the [Difficulty Challenge] of 25 in order to succeed.
>Getting a 10 and below is a [Critical Failure] while 91 and above is a [Critical Success]
2) All players must wait for the "TURN GO" post before submitting any actions posts. After which you must post your actions only to that post.
3) After all actions are processed and a new turn begins, update your character sheet.

Acquiring and Improving Spells & Skills:
1) Study, research, explore, train or take classes to discover and learn new spells.
2) Training an already learned spell or skill will raise it further to the next tier once enough [Progress Points] are accumulated.
4) The progress threshold is based on the Fibonacci sequence (1,2,3,5,8,...)
>Usually Spell and Skill tiers are named as Basic => Intermediate => Advanced => Expert => Master
>Alternatively you can label the tiers as T1, T2, T3 and so on.

Spellcrafting:
Spellcrafting involves fusing spells with various skills, knowledge and even other spells that your character has learned together creating a new spell or skill.
>The name of the resulting new spell will be determined by the QM. By default it will be "Cast A B C..."
>Your dice roll will affect the result of the spellcrafting. Lower rolls will result in weaker or negative version of the intended spell and vice versa.

Social Interactions:
1) Role playing with other players is a free action. Role playing with NPCs, however, will cost an action point to do so.
2) Collaborative Player-to-Player actions like trading, tutoring and PvP, will cost an action point to do so.

Combat:
1) Post 2 actions like you normally would. Your opponent will roll their own 2 actions.
2) To defeat your opponent, you must overcome their defensive or evasion roll and vice versa
>If you have not rolled an evasion or defensive roll then your opponent must pass normal DC to hit you and vice versa.
>If both combatants attacked successfully then it's a Double KO.
>If both combatants defended successfully then it's a Stalemate.

A leering, pervasive wave of dread poisons your mind as the driving rain soaks you to the bone. The Techno-Fortress looms ahead, the vista of the wind-swept fortress, wrecks, and outlying stations almost overwhelming.

You are Lieutenant Commander Reynolr, of the Citadel Empire, recently-promoted captain of the CAS Brora (PS-4-917), an armed trawler based in the wretched Kraegsk Archipelago. Your presence here is tied to the nature of the storm-ravaged Kraegsk - north of resource-rich islands and a major naval warzone, the floating wrecks of great warships are carried by the currents to smash against the jagged coasts of the Kraegsk. You are to recover Citadel personnel from wrecks, protect salvage ships, and ensure that the enemy Republic and its craven mercenaries does not gain control of the Kraegsk from their own naval base, at the opposite end of the archipelago. Every month, a convoy of cargo ships picks up scrap that cannot be used or embezzled by the forces of the Kraegsk and takes it back to the naval yards of your homeland - loss of these ships is unacceptable.

Before the Citadel-Republic war, the Kraegsk was inhabited by a series of destitute fishing communities living in the shadow of the ruins of the old Astaeran Empire. Now they are forced into the service of the belligerents, powerless to resist the meager forces allocated to the Kraegsk.

You're stranded south of the Kraegsk, in the Interim Sea - if you kept going for half a week, you'd end up at the very northern tip of the proper battlefields of the war. Originally, you were sent to escort an anti-aircraft cruiser as it intercepted the path of Republic bombers, but a terrible open-ocean storm and a brutal point-blank fight with a Republic gunboat as left the Brora holed beneath the waterline and partially flooded. Seeking shelter before your sides caved in and you were lost beneath the crashing waves, you came across a huge, enclosed base of Astaeran origin - abandoned for decades, even centuries. With the base on automatic lockdown and the Brora listing badly, you need to decide on a course of action, repair, or exploration - a massive Techno-Fortress of the old wars looms nearby. The storm is continuing outside the walls with unabated fury.

The rain is unmerciful as you stand there, soaking in the sights, halfway up the central tower’s catwalks. Faintly at first, then with an urgency bordering on panic, you comprehend the enormity of your predicament and the problems that have to be solved.

The Brora is heavily damaged, no doubt. Perhaps you could limp north, pumps at full capacity, once the storm dies down - but you might run into the Republic flotilla you know is in the general area. A light carrier, a corvette, and a few lighter ships - death for the wounded Brora, should they find you.

You could attempt to find supplies to repair the Brora with - emergency repairs are already underway, but proper patches and welding equipment would be a godsend, and some reinforcing beams would be even better - you could even continue with the mission with that kind of repair work, should you find the Citadel flotilla.

However, all attempts to enter the central tower of this relatively small base have been met with ancient, locked doors. The techno-fortress looms ahead, linked to the base by a sizable pipe and catwalk that looks very small indeed in the storm, great clouds of mist occasionally breaking over the top. The rain obscures the detail from the techno-fortress. Of course, some of the items in your pack may be useful.

>Continue up the catwalk, to see what’s up at the top of the tower.
>Set out across the pipe, to the techno-fortress.
>Head back down to the Brora.
>Open your pack. Take out the map of the Interim Sea.
>Open your pack. Take out the Amulet.
>Something else?

“Sir, what shall we do?” Conscript Kenneck asks from behind you.

>We’re waiting out the storm, then leaving as soon as possible. Emergency repairs will have to do.
>We’re staying here and trying to find materials to affect decent repairs with. Hopefully we finish before the storm ends.
>We’re going to try and raise the flotilla on the radio - even if the Republic intercepts the transmissions, they won’t know where we are.
>Something else?

Welcome back to Trawler Quest! It's been a long time, but school is finally dropping down to manageable levels - I'm quickly eating, then this thread will run tonight, tomorrow night (With a pause for Samurai Jack), and hopefully Sunday night. After next Wednesday, threads will be more frequent and unburdened by school work.

You're a wizard specialising in American meme magic and storm magic.
You were heading to explore (loot) the ruins of an old Fortress and have stopped at a nearby town.
In town you met a fellow wizard, a geomancer who seems like he's suffered psionic damage.
He has allowed you to stay the night at his home.
It is now the following morning but before you head off and do your own thing: You've been studying his spell-book (with his permission) and have learned how to cast one basic spell from it.

You're not entirely sure who this Trump person even is. You know him from the numerous times he is mentioned in your spellbook. Based on context he seems to be some sort of great hero or demi-god. You suspect he may be the founder of American meme magic.

You made a terrible mistake.

“So what was it like!?” Most of the commanders were crowding around you as you brushed your hair. Your expression in the mirror matched that of your mind: unamused. Serina leans over your shoulder. “Was it like a quick peck or…”

“No, no! That doesn’t match Ellie,” says Serafina. “I bet she practically ate up Jeep Jockey’s face! Just look at the way she dances! She probably commands respect in all aspects of a relationship!” All the girls look in awe, realizing that Serafina is probably right. And she couldn’t be more wrong. You wouldn’t ever- in your life- WHAT IS WRONG WITH THESE GIRLS!

“Ooohh, I swoon at the thought of it!” says Regina. “Kissing your beloved with the warm sands beneath your body, the waves crashing upon you as your lips caress each other!” All the girls sigh in bliss. Fantasies, eugh. “Really, what was it like?”

“I don’t know. BECAUSE I DIDN’T KISS HIM!” you state loudly firmly. “Now go away!” All the girls confusedly walk away, muttering and gossiping to each other. Damn vultures! Standing next to you now was Iris. “… you believe me, right? I only did it to try and distract Winona, I swear! It was part of my plan, which almost worked because Winona was too caught up in it, right!?”

Iris takes a sip of tea from her cup, nodding slowly. “I believe you. Though initially when I heard you said it, I did believe it happened.” Oh come on! “Elodie, a lady never lies. And unfortunately you are one of the most trustworthy people not just in this team, but on the ship in general. What makes people think you would actually lie about something?”

How long had it been since you stepped into this fake world?

In the search to reclaim your stolen Testament, you had willingly taken the invitation of the very thing responsible for her kidnapping, and entered the distorted purgatory you reluctantly imagined it called 'home'. A broken world, trapped in a cycle of events that repeated time and time again which one could only guess the veracity of. Whatever had happened here occured so long ago that you wouldn't be surprised if it would take the attentions of one of Luna's attendants just to dig up the truth of whether what you were experiencing was real or not.

Unfortunately, it was Luna and her attendants that seemed to have the most to gain in keeping it hidden. The story of an eighth Mana, its Shrine, and the people most attuned to it. The story of their struggles, and the tragedy of a disaster that all but crippled East Heaven.

A story of betrayal, which brought to mind the baleful fury echoed by the forgotten Mana's misbegotten apparitions as they railed single mindedly against any trace of their celestial sibling.

You are Irue Valen, and the forest around you is familiar. The same song of nature played mutely through the rushing wind that you had let lull you into sleep's embrace since you were a child; you could make the gentle whispers of a wood that had sheltered you from the sun and watched over your every moment of study, even through the clopping hooves of a horse being ridden to its limits.

Your gut told you that Ari was close, and that with the mystery laid before you of attendants of Luna armed to their teeth, yet slaughtered in cold blood, you would undoubtedly find her soon. The problem, however, is that simply finding her wasn't going to be enough.

This place, this story... These memories held meaning. A meaning you suspected you would need to understand before it would allow you to leave. Even if that wasn't the case, it was something you felt the need to do on your own.

This wasn't like the Ice Queen's Atelier. You weren't simply a bystander, walking through someone else's most intimate moments. This was karma, weighted by blood. A contract, signed under a single name.

Luna's Shrine had planned this. It wasn't a spur of the moment decision, but the conclusion to carefully laid preparations spanning Mana only knew how long. Premeditated betrayal, brokering no room for escape, no margin for deviation. A plan-

'if they invited you, they consider your presence necessary.'
'When we had heard you would be coming with them, naturally we thought...'

-The Valen name had been a part of. One that, from what you had pieced together so far, had been going wrong from the moment you woke up.

It was only natural, afterall. You had been given a role to play, with no knowledge of the script, or even the character you were meant to be standing in for. Whose side were you supposed to be on? Why, in a matter between the Shrine Dominions, did Luna's Dominion consider the presence of your House Founder to be worth including? Why, if you were invited by the Shrine, had you woken up already trying to gain ground on them and be the first to reach Dryad's Shrine?

The list of questions went on, with precious few answers to be found.

"...It vanished." Elly's anxious voice broke your reverie, her grip tightening around your midrift as she started to panic. "One of the presences vanished, I can't sense it anymore!"

"Whatever's out there doesn't waste any time..." Tim groaned disheartenedly, "Where's the next closest one?!"

"It.. East, I think. There's definitely one that way, please hurry!"

For now, all you could do was chase the leads you had... And hope that you could catch a break before they met a similar fate to the last attendant of Luna you had encountered.

>Warn Elly about the betrayal
>Meditate en route
>Ask something (what?)

>Warn Elly about the betrayal
Not sure how good it is for her mental well being but honestly it's not getting better anyway.

>Ask something (what?)
Make sure Tim is ready to fight. If we are up against enraged nymph apparitions, Elly needs to clear her head and be prepared to attempt to soothe them in some way. We'll protect her whatever happens.

‘There is no such thing as paranoia. Your worst fears can come true at any moment.’ You never imagined these words would mean everything you knew was a lie. You were never one to be scared of a monster under your bed, you were more scared of some murderer or something hiding there. But the worst has come to fruition, evidently the world actually does have monsters in it, and one is sleeping right next to you, firmly grasping your hand in what you can only describe as a death grip.

You couldn’t sleep the night away, not with a succubus next to you. Just a step up from an actual demon… you think. Why didn’t you think of this contingency? Sure it would have sounded ridiculous to you a day ago and you would have been more focused on other kinds of invaders, human kinds, hell you’d probably be more accepting of aliens too. But this mythical creature is right next to you, has been next to you for the entirety of the night. Other creatures around you probably your entire life. All of them ‘feeding’ off you.

If she was actually feeding off you, you couldn't feel it, but she is probably lying. She is just waiting for you to let your guard down and fall asleep. Then her real feeding can begin; the feeding that will kill you. You look over to your old clock, a unhealthy red indicates that it is 6 am. This has gone on long enough right? You lasted this long and if she actually has already fed on your ‘energy’ you can get the info you need on your neighbors and kick her out right?

Will she even tell you anything? Will it even be something true? These monsters bring up too many variables and unknowns. You know nothing of them, and evidently they know everything about you, your kind. What to do what to do…
