>>Information

This quest, as the title suggests, takes place in the world of Dragon Ball. You're playing as a twenty-three year old man named Tofoo, and will adventure through the story of the Dragonball series alongside characters such as Goku, Yamcha, Bulma, Tien, and many others. Through your actions, you can make significant changes to the story, and perhaps even become the strongest fighter on Earth.

>Rules

At the end of each update you'll have ten minutes to vote on options. Write-ins are allowed, but I do reserve the right to veto them.

In the event of a draw, the option to receive the next vote wins

Rolls will be used on certain occasions, such as attempting a technique for the first time or attempting something extremely difficult. You will have three rolls, and if one succeeds, you succeed. There are no crits.

Rolls are made AFTER an option wins, not during the voting process

I hope everyone has fun.

The Raiders – Part 14

While telepathy and psychic power are a fact of life among your species, the githyanki have forsaken those techniques that control, dominate, or otherwise master another's mind. It is both abhorrent and illicit, though technically not truly forbidden. The illusionists are the closest thing that the githyanki have to mind-benders and dominators, and it is accepted that the strong willed can break the hold such a one has over the mind. As a result, psychic chirurgery is a rarity, and those who can perform it are watched most carefully by other githyanki.

Accidents are common among those who delve too deeply into such techniques.

With the deadly murderer Tzanzi looming over you after you, with the help of the illusionist Yashi and the ifrit slave Rana Najla you have just finished rebuilding you delicate and interesting slave's mind from scratch, after nearly wiping out any trace of personality, intellect, or ego. It will take time for her to recover, but the effect should be to restore her broken, nearly insane mind to a semblance of normality. That you had to use the power of the Elder githyanki, immense and forbidden power that you possess in secret, is something the others might not be aware of, though Yashi seems to suspect something more was at work.

Especially given that the serpent-folk wearing human flesh that is your slave Cyrillian should have been utterly immune to most of what you and Yashi and Rana did to her mind. A quality she shares with the enigmatic and famous Tzanzi, whose expression is largely unreadable at the moment.

Rana is looking up at the tall woman in fascination, the half mask that covers the left side of Tzanzi's face a creation of your own and glistening in the strange were-lights of your cell. Yashi is watching with intense interest – no, closer to desperate interest as Tzanzi looks down at you. She is dressed in simple leathers, a chamois tunic, loose in the sleeves and at the throat, and tight breeches that give her muscular legs perfect and alluring definition. Her good eye is narrowed, the muscles for her missing left eye not capable of such fine manipulation of the glass eye that replaces it (also your work, and some of your finest). She is bare footed, and unarmed, but then again, Tzanzi is never truly unarmed.

She is githyanki, so dangerous is a given.

[] Dismiss Rana and Yashi, have them take Cyrillian away while you speak with Tzanzi.
[] Ask Siobhan for a little help in guessing what Tzanzi might be thinking.
[] Stand up and take Tzanzi aside and let Yashi and Rana finish tending your slave.
[] Wait and see what – if anything – Tzanzi does or says.

I'm in favor of standing up, but not going beyond that.

I feel like assuming we'd need to have this conversation in private without her making the first move could kind of start things off on a bad note maybe?

Also, hi XS!

In the last thread, we didn't really do much since I got busy with a case of Workitis.

But we were in the middle of convincing Haroldr to go out with Renexizia... And narrowly convinced.

It's not too long until you fly back home finally... You of course, tell Haroldr to make himself at home while you get ready to "treat" him.

It's not until your almost about to inject him with the mutagen you get interrupted...

By your mother, of course.

"Rennie? Are you busy?"

You of course, sigh as Haroldr looks up from the operating table to your mother.

"Mom, what do you need? I'm kind of busy right now..."

"Oh, I know dear, with your world-conquest thing... I brought cookies though, and I was ever so curious if you could help your mother out with a few things."

Goddamn it...

"Such as?"

"Oh, well... I mostly just wanted to spend some time with you, you know. And also, I think it's been a bit too long since our last mother-son bonding raid!"

"It's been a few months though."

"That's exactly what a human would say, you know... "Oh, I'm too busy! Doing... Silly mortal things." Karestina says, mocking a rather poor impression of a human.

"...Mom, that's a bad impression."

"Well, I wasn't really trying dear... Besides, I need to get some more slaves to help me construct my lair..."

"...I could dig it out for you. Or you could dig it out."

"...Well... By Tiamat, I just want to be with my darling boy. I doubt Richard would like to go on these trips... He's so sensitive." She sighs out... Of course, she fully enters the room at this point, and puts a nice, large plate of cookies right on a table.

"...Mom, can I at least turn him into a half-dragon?"

"Well dear... I suppose you can. Is it dangerous in any way to you?"

"...No?"

"Oh, great! Go ahead dear, I'm watching you, don't worry."

She gives you a pat on the head, and a kiss... You go to inject Haroldr with the mutagen...

"Oh, by the way... Who is this? I just want to make sure."

"Erh... Why are you asking?"

"Just making sure this isn't one of my agents, spies, conspirators, slaves-to-be..."

"I thought you stopped enslaving people?"

"...Well, only torturing them. Enslaving mortals is a family tradition you know."

"Stay away from me, monster!"

Accusation and shattered glass both fly across the room as my desperate attempts to calm Camille are drowned out by her screeches.

"Camille, please listen! I just want to-"

"NO!" She screams once more as another vial from her seemingly bottomless bag is sent hurling across the room, forcing me to duck behind the bed for safety. I can only wonder at the intended effect its content as it shatters splashes impotently against the wall behind me. I'm not sure even Camille knows at this point.

"You can't trick me, monster! I know the truth!"

I really wish she would stop calling me that. It really hurts..

"I just want to talk! Nothing else!" I yell back at, figuring that if nothing else works, maybe outscreaming her will. Not really much of a plan, definitely not one I really expected to work, and yet she actually seems to, if nothing else, quieten down.

Taking a cautious peek from behind the bed, I finally get the first proper look at her since she started freaking out. Her face carries a grimace like that of a wild animal, cornered and terrified. Her eyes shine with both anger and fear, her teeth are bared as she pants heavily.

A sharp contrast to the cool and casual look she's usually sporting.

"..Is that okay, Camille? Can we talk now?"

It's a little difficult to tell between the poor lighting and her gasps for air, but I am fairly sure I saw a nod. Maybe she's finally going to listen to reason.

I carefully lift myself back unto my feet, ready to have a civilized conversation. It is only by sheer luck that I manage to catch the sudden movement through the corner of my eye, the latest in the long line of potions-turned-projectile just barely passing overhead as I drop back onto the floor.

There might be a lesson about trusting witches somewhere in there..

Like the others, the sound of shattering glass quickly follows, yet somehow not quite the same this time. And even more so is the sudden change in the air, a heavy and deadly silence suddenly descending. Curious about the sudden change, I turn my head to see...

"Mo-mo-mom?" Camille nervously stammers we both realize what has just happened.

Where once was a door now stands the second most intimidating woman I've ever encountered, surpassed only by her own teacher. Much unlike Camille's present state, her face reveals not a single sign of emotion as she casts an authoritative eye across the room. In her hand rest all the evidence I could possibly need to decipher the situation: The same hat I've seen her carry proudly so many times, and the same hat that once rested on my own head even if just for a minute, now reduced to something better fit for a young girl's doll.

"Mom, I can explain! It's not-" With a single gesture, she commands silence and immediately receives it.

I still don't know why Camille was so afraid of me, but I know and understand exactly what she is afraid of right now and the tremble in her voice has only grown worse from the previous situation to this one. For a single moment Mistress locks her eyes on me and, with the movement of a single finger, commands my body to stand even before my mind can interpret its meaning.

I can only be thankful as her stare moves from me and unto Camille. Blank as her face is, it does reveal one simple fact: This room is about to become very uncomfortable.

"Nadja, out." She commands.

I can't think of anything I want more right now than to get out of the line of fire, but. Even if Camille was trying to attack me just before, and I definitely feel that she's the one who started this, I really do pity anyone in her current situation.

>"No. This is my fault too." [Stay. Defend Camille.]

This is a tough memory.

Rules: Actions are determined by votes and the d100 rolls of the winning vote.

Nicofluxine floods your brain as you sit on the back of the subsonic train, watching the colorful flora of APE-3 go by. You were told not to smoke these by the conductor but whose he going to call - the police?

Government has been deteriorating on the planet for weeks. The APE-3 administration is unable to keep up with the black market in providing for the frontier planets denizens. They've been overwhelmed by riots and a crime wave and holed themselves up in the planetary capital, all under martial law.

But out here in the boonies' boonies, they have no authority. Which is why you can enjoy this fine, felony-worthy military-grade nootropic.

In the sealed rear-cockpit of the train you click the cylinder of your revolver around in its' cradle. It's also why you're here, doing the government's job for them as you protect this valuable food shipment on its way to the nearest city for emergency resdistribution. Naira and her lackey, "Helmets" (as your fellow pilots named him when they learned he had not one but a collection of military face visors and helms) turned out ot be decent people willing to work with the government of APE-3 in exchange for gold and they were willing to let you and your 4-man crew in on the work.

You probably never would have made it back in Baalia. Your men could only find hard labor availible for money and they weren't willing to do that. Taking up bounty work was the only way...

Suddenly your vision warps a bit in the peripherals. The scenery seems to change shape around the edges and the light dims a bit.

You pick up your radio to let the others in the middle of the train know you've seen something but... what?

The ocean just got a whole lot more crowded, because advancing on this small island chain was over thirty Academyships from all over the world. It was around 8 AM when Commissioner Durocher came aboard LGA, and on stage facing out towards the island she made her announcement. “I now declare Lafayette Girls Academy the stage for the NATO Combined Fleet Festival!” The huge crowd of girls and cheers and hollers at the proclamation. Even your crew looks positively excited to be here today.

And for good reason. Today was the All-Star Game, the event that would kick off FleetFest. And surprisingly enough, you’d be participating in it.

“I can’t wait!” yells Winona. “I’m so excited!”

“We’re going to be famous!” says Stack. “I mean, I’m gonna be famous, y’all are gonna be like those uncredited extras.”

“As if,” says Ingrid.

“I’m just excited to be here,” says Josephina. “I’ve never seen so many Academyships in one place before! How are they all going to fit into the docks?”

“They’re not, our tanks are going in by airlift,” says Ingrid. “But whatever! It’s time for FleetFest! Ellie, you ready to show them what we can do down there?”

Winona hugs you from behind. “Hmph, Ellie is ready for anything!”

Future Naruto Quest

This quest is set within the universe of Naruto, long after the end of the series, but ignoring the events of the Boruto Manga and Anime. Of course, because this is Naruto we're talking about, the geopolitics and technology haven't advanced as quickly as they would in the real world. As such, the technology is similar to that of Boruto the Movie, though a bit more refined, and the villages you know and love are largely the same, though their diplomatic situations may not be.

However, the characters will be less familiar, because as much time has passed between the Last and now as passed between the Founding of the Hidden Villages and Shippuden..

You are playing as Kuro Nijiiroh, a fifteen year old Hidden Leaf Chunin. Once a member of Hōōmaru Tachibana’s Team Seven, along with Hakurin Hyuga, and Jimmaru ████ Uchiha. Your family consists of your older sister, an ANBU Black Ops, Shirou; your mother, the restaurateur Ki; and your father Aomon, a Tokubetsu Jounin who specializes in Hand Seals, also living with you is your cousin Haiiro, who's mother sent her to attend the Ninja Academy.

You've returned to the World after three years of being consigned to the Moon for general Otsutsukery, and also the degradation of the diplomatic order of the world.

"I would think that it was quite kind, but I would think that you would test me before promoting me to jounin. I'm sure that making someone a jounin just because the village owes them isn't standard procedure, or at least it shouldn't be. So I'm thinking 'what's in this for you'?" Comes your reply, accompanied by a suspicious squint. "Why would you want someone fresh off the Moon to be a jounin, to maybe even lead a squad?"

The Jounin Commander shakes her head, "It's not like that Kuro, but as much as I dislike it, it's far from unheard of for someone to be promoted for 'special circumstances,' if you really want to go through the normal channels of promotion, I can have it arranged for you," she ends with a sigh.

>A) You'll take it.

>B) You don't really want to be just handed a promotion.

>C) Ask if there's anything else she's willing to do. No lewds.

>D) Ask her something else.

Things are going relatively well in Hive Desoleum. In the past month, you’ve gone from nothing to holding the Shattered Foundry. Or, as some gangers-turned-cultists have taken to calling it, the Ember Forge. It’s grown from a simple base of operations for your Fleshcutters to something more grand. It’s now a hub for all manner of heretical, Chaos-related activities within the Hive. Most who have come to your doors are oathless or hail from the seedier side of the Imperial citizenry. You accept them all the same. After all, Khorne does not care from whence the blood flows, only that it does. So long as the new blood is able to fight in some manner, they suit their purpose as mere tools just fine.

In all, your original group of about 300 Fleshcutters (plus a handful of Ironmongers) has grown to a sizeable 2,000. You have more than enough manpower to affect whatever change you wish upon the Hive at large, especially if the multiple Sanctionary raids are any indication. There’s been about fifteen or so raids in total, none of them successful. If anything, they’ve served to both spread His word and grant you more vehicles and armament. You now have a little fleet of ten Rhinos with which to perform deadly, urban guerrilla warfare, not to mention a whole company of cultists outfitted with shock mauls and flamers.

It would be remiss of you not to recognize Niazach’s influence in all of this. Most of the time she’s up higher in the Hive, luring in those mortals who are weak to the whispers of Chaos. Whenever she’s at the Foundry, though, she’s taken to corrupting the Ironmongers. She preaches about becoming a “perfect blend of machine and man,” which has only emboldened the Tech-Gangers to undergo countless limb and organ replacement surgeries. Only a few of her followers truly worship Slaanesh, though. Probably due to the fact there’s now an overwhelming number of individuals aligned to Khorne.

What matters in the end is what you do next. You’re perfectly poised to strike at the very heart of Desoleum. If all goes well, you’ll have brought the Hive to its knees by the end of the week. Possibly sooner. All you have to do is tear your way into the highest spire and destroy the great Oath-cog belonging to Lady Desoleum. Simple, right?

If you’re a die-hard lover of canon, I suggest you turn away now. Like all things 40k, the gauntlet runs from “worshiping the printed, grimdark word” to “over the top silliness.” Most of the time it’s somewhere in between. Others it swerves hard to one side and/or breaks this model entirely. You’ve been warned in advance. I do try to keep things fairly reasonable though.

Alternatively, if you’re not at all familiar with canon or want more details on something, just ask! You don’t need to have played the original Khornette Quest to play and enjoy this one. I’m sure someone (or I) will explain any cameos that come up if you’re lost.

All rolls go against a specified characteristic in the style of Black Crusade. You’ll want to roll under the characteristic value in order to pass the check. The more degrees of success (every multiple of 10 counts as 1), the more awesome of a result. A 1 or an 8 is a guaranteed success, and a 100 is a guaranteed failure. NPCs I roll for only crit succeed/fail on a 1 or a 100.

Best of three rolls when it’s called for, with a 1, 8, or a 100 instantly taking precedence. If multiple characteristics are being rolled for each 1d100 counts for its respective test. Any rolls prior to the call for one and those not linking said post will be ignored.

I realize that /qst/ is much slower than /tg/ ever was, but I’d like to keep things moving. Voting windows will be a maximum of twenty to thirty minutes after the first vote. Same goes for dice rolling. This week’s a little strange schedule-wise. I’ll be running today (Sunday), Tuesday, and Wednesday for sure. Thursday is a no-go, and Friday will be our overflow day.

As you may have noticed from the OP, there’s been a small time skip to keep things interesting. I didn’t think going through each and every day would be fun, so here we are. Hopefully that doesn’t bother anyone.

That’s it housekeeping-wise for now. Onto the quest!

“A-And now I shall read from the Book of Armaments, Chapter 8, verses 8-24… ‘And Kharn raised the chain axe up on high, saying, ‘O Khorne, bless this Thy chain axe that with it Thou mayest tear Thine enemies to tiny bits, in Thy mercy.’ And Khorne did grin and the people did feast upon the grox and the corpse starch and…’”

You try not to smile as you watch Feva conduct her daily sermon from the Chaos altar near the kilns to a group of a hundred or so cultists. She’s become quite the spokeswoman when it comes to preaching the good word of Khorne. Granted, she’s still constantly nervous and stammers most of the time, but you think that’s all part of her appeal. She still can’t wield a chainsword properly yet either, but she’s skilled enough with other blades that it hardly matters. You do wonder at times what might happen if she ever got really serious in a fight, though.

“Excuse me, Scythe-Mistress…”

You turn around to see Eraric and Crocus waiting for you. The former was the overall victor of the tournament you held weeks ago. Since then, you’ve made it a point for the pair of them to be paired up and become a functioning unit. Besides Feva and Rikiar, they’re probably about the only other Fleshcutters you feel like you can really count on to get something done and done right. In their case, that’s mostly been retaliatory strikes on Sanctionary outposts following a raid.

“Yes, what is it?” you ask.

Eraric and Crocus both bow their heads respectfully. The former answers, “We return from patrol with interesting news. It seems that Sanctionary Supreme Rosa has issued an edict. He has ordered all able-bodied Sanctionaries and most of the PDF to rally under his banner for one gigantic push to retake Ember Forge.”

“Not only that, but rumor is he’s also called upon the help of the Inquisition,” adds Crocus. “We were unable to substantiate said rumors, though.”

“Hm. It would not surprise me if the Inquisition did show up,” you muse. “After all, I did exterminate an entire cell of acolytes. Tell me, what word of our feelers into reaching the Prime Spire?”

“As we just told Rikiar before being sent to relay it to you, we believe the time is ripe. Just say the word and the plan will be executed.”

Said plan more or less involves using a few Rhinos still doctored up as Sanctionary vehicles to bypass most of the security in the Hive’s Spire. They’ll deliver a team of 64 hand-picked Fleshcutters and you as close to the Prime Spire as possible. From there, you’d lead a charge to take Lady Desoleum’s Oath-cog.

The only sticking point is this supposed imminent attack on the Foundry. You can’t be in two places at once. And if you wait to strike the Prime Spire, there’s a growing chance that either security will grow or your quarry will flee offworld. You need to make a judgement call here.

> [2] Make an Executive Decision: Prepare for the Sanctionary attack

At dawn the Scalefolk hunters return from their hunt dragging their prey by sled through the dense jungle. Their families rush out to meet them and help carry the corpse of the gargantuan shark man inside, already cutting and preparing the meat for a feast. The victorious hunters are ushered inside by their families and are made to celebrate immediately. Songs are sung and dances danced as the massive slabs of meat are roasted over the fire and split amongst the tribe, with the newly made adults the first to eat from their hunt. Avila and Victoria participate in the merriment, although they forgo the meal due to the dietary constraints that come with being somewhat undead. The Imps are offered a few fair portions as well as thanks for expanding the barracks to accommodate their new hunters. Gabriel is quick to accept and savor the strange taste of the fishy meat. Even the Myconids are offered a portion of the hunt despite the fact that they do not eat. The Father none the less accepts gratefully and makes a show of chewing on the meat to appease the scalefolk. Later you find him spitting it out in private and burying it so that it can be eaten more rotten, as the mushrooms prefer their meats. As the party begins to calm down and the celebration ends so that your minions can return to work the Chieftain approaches you and offers a leg of meat as thanks for protecting the new hunters on such a dangerous hunt. You accept and levitate it the meat above your body and attempt to will a mouth into existence, after some time you are able to drop the offering into your newly formed mouth. The meat is tough and the bones are strange, considering that the sharkman was mostly cartilage, but it is well seasoned and cooked. You will a digestive system into place and swallow the meal, thanking the Chieftain and personally thanking the cooks.

Gabriel approaches you when the imps have had their fill of celebration, saying that they are ready and willing to continue work on the dungeon.

Gray emptiness surrounds all that you are. You feel nothing, you are nothing. Then, a faded voice, blurred beyond comprehension. You feel energy surging into your body, as you are reawakened anew. (Alright, I saw this one on /tg/ and thought it would be fun to turn into a quest thread, so here we are. We can either do the categories of this CYOA one at a time, or you all can just create entire characters, and we'll play the one that gets the most support. Let's do this.)

Battered buildings stand in a row, glowing in the afternoon sun, and the narrow streets stink of cigar leaves and alcohol. There are a few stragglers out and about - either locals, trouble makers or those who can't afford a bed, making the suicidal departure into the dusk.

You walk carefully, boots slick with mud, eyeing each building as you pass. Near the end of the row is a two story place, still mostly in one shape, where two heavy bruisers sit lazily by the door - one smokes while the other counts out some grimy cards onto the table between them.

The building is brick and timber, large sections of the front and side wall patched up with planks of wood over the years. That being said, it's the most sturdy looking structure in the small wayside stopover. The loudest, too. From within comes the sound of chatter, both casual and argumentative, and the very light ding of music. As you approach the front porch the smell of some kind of meat mixes with the almost unfamiliar scent of baking bread.

As you take one foot from the mud onto the bottom step of the establishment a grunt comes from one of the heavy seat men by the door. One continues to smoke, his droopy eyes starting at you blankly. The other, though, stops what he's doing and rises to his feet. There is no mistaking the heavy axe hanging from his belt, nor the dark bladed dagger resting on the table.

The standing man steps forward, holding a grimy hand up toward you, and leans against the railing of the small porch.

"Hold up righ' there, my friend. What's your business comin' down this way?" He does not hide the appraising look he gives the rapier by your belt, nor the eyebrow raise that comes from the sight of the pistol strapped to your chest.

> My business is but my own. We're all friends here.
> Move aside or you'll regret it, 'friend'.
> I'm only after a warm meal and a cold drink.
> I'm meeting a friend inside, just running a bit late.

It's eight PM, and you're on a date.

Amid the candlelight and gentle chattering of other patrons, the two of you have sat in relative silence as you gaze at your phone.

You've been waiting for your food for the past twenty minutes.

And still, she's looking at you as if she's expecting something.

Twelve years have passed since the mists drew back, and revealed the unspoiled wilderness that is Admor. Civilizations have grown and fallen, in this short span. Great evil has spread across the face of the lands, and been chased back into the darkness. The dark dryad, Julhana’s first plot to bespoil the face of Admor has been thwarted by the elves of the Belegorn tribe with an important assist by Oberon and the kingdom of the Fae. Still, evil witch runs free, and has seduced another to the Dark Sidhe. One thing is for certain, they will be heard from again.

Our young civilizations are just beginning to meet one another, trade and commerce are beginning to bloom and thrive with the establishment of our first trade routes.

The forces of magic our civilizations have been taming apparently have a downside, as not all magical awakenings are beneficial in nature. The core of Admor leaks a dark substance that taints all it touches, and like the all things, it doesn’t touch all things equally. The forests it soaks turn gnarled and forlorn and the inhabitants become feral and ravenous, and sometimes they Awaken, and hell breaks loose. Running loose on the drought ravaged plains to the east of the noble Aarakocra, a species of flightless hunting bird has awakened. Due to their ability to move in complete silence, they are called awakened stealth raptors in the common tongue (not yet invented). Their bellies are gnawed by a non stop hunger that is not satiated by food, no matter how much they eat, they must seek the next meal… which bodes poorly for any who live nearby.

Trying my hand at a YuGiOh Quest. I'll probably simplify the game to keep things progressing at a decent pace. Essentially this is YuGiOh but with cards inspired by other media, themes for new cards can include (and are not limited to):
>Disney
>Cartoon Network
>Marvel
>DC
>Harry Potter
>4chan memes
>Shonen Anime
Whatever this quest might become would (perhaps rightly) never be made or released due to copyright infringement. Alright, and yeah bear with me as I'm doing this on the fly. If anons want to share and post their ideas for cards that'd be a great way to bump the thread besides participating in the quest.
Current rules (roughly following Duel-Links format):
Deck Minimum: 20
Deck Maximum: 30
Monster Zones: 3
Spell and Trap Card Zone: 3

More info coming.
