Apparently I have this but I was saving thumbnails for the first 10 or so images of 127.
Go fucking figure.
man looking back i can't believe this was 5 years ago feels like i just saved them
>tfw your pc got fucked and you lost almost all those images you saved through the years
My real oldest is really hawt, but apparently this board is for keeps, and all rules are enforced, so have this instead.
Christ, this commercial was funny in 2007, and I can't even find my oldest folder...
>tfw all your old shits being deleted in 2013 because PC fucked up
One of my old pictures...
i think this is legitimatly the first image i saved from 4chan
This is the oldest that I have still saved, lost the others after getting v&
Remember when OP wasn't a fag? Yeah, me neither.
I showed this to all my friends on my first generation iPod touch. the thought I was a fucking badass for actually going on 4chan.
I don't have it any more. The drive I had all my shit on died and I lost the majority of it.
I'll admit, I was browsing intermittently because of family problems before 2012, so you could technically say I started browsing regularly then, but I did save a fuckload of images in my on-and-off years that I lost when my computer got wiped.
All these computer failures. How do you manage it? I've been using the same HDD and win7 installation for like 7 years now.
>I was browsing intermittently because of family problems before 2012
>family problems made it difficult for me to waste all of my time on the internet
Seems like it would be the other way around.
Huh, so it isn't. I guess I waited like a year after I moved to buy this PC. Now a days, everyone acts like HDDs are supposed to explode on the 5 year mark, though.
Nope. These fucks basically had control of my life and took my computer privileges away. They even threatened to publish my internet history to all my friends and teachers.
I wanted to escape to the internet and watch anime so much then but I couldn't.
I used to have fairly frequent hard disk crashes during early 2000s.But it wasn't related to the quality of the disks or their age... even right now I'm running some 10 year old HDDs that have seen shitloads of power cycles. Turned out the damage was caused by vibrations from a table I had at the time.
Haven't had a single desktop PC on table since that. Always on the floor.
They weren't my parents. They were some family friends that basically tricked us into following their every word for an entire year until my mom snapped out of it.
I could write a novel about it but I don't want to.
>mfw HDD went bust around Christmas
My mom got caught up in a pyramid scheme. Having stupid parents is rough.
I don't have my old /b/ folder anymore but i'm pretty sure it was longcat
I thought longcat was the funniest thing in existence back then
My mom wasn't stupid. They were just very convincing. They were originally friends with her before I was born and they had just reentered the picture. It started with them doing little things around the house and then it slowly spiraled into a shitstorm. They even made me, the person they were mentally torturing, into believing that they cared about me and were doing things in my best interest.
Enough with this, it isn't my blog.
I'll bet you didn't know it required Abstract Algebra either, but you can't have the naturals without Fields.
somewhere amidst the reposts of repost reposts, I found this. pretty sure it was the first pic I saved.
Shit, I remember going on /b/ and seeing some animu thread and this was one of the pics I saved to make a wallpaper
>all these 11xxxxxxxxxxx and 12xxxxxxxxxxx filenames
I feel like such a failure
who has a working hard drive from 2005?
some shit is just lost forever
I lost all my old pictures when my hard drive crashed in 2012, so the earliest I have is from September 2011.
Shit sucks, I had so much shit saved I've never seen again
No, but I devoted YEARS and YEARS of just plain autism straining myself to find the "perfect" file sorting system for my 4chan fuckery. See current setup - /b/ folder on the left, /a/ on the right. (/a/ is my main board; I haven't been an active /b/ user in 5+ years)
I've strained myself needlessly to try and come up with a sensible, objective, intuitive folder scheme that would, most importantly, make image fetching easier for a particular situation. It also served the utility of not having one big /a/ folder with 10,000 images with no organization. For example, someone's asking for sauce in /a/? BAM! Go to /reference folder, which is less than ~ 50 images, and find the screencap of someone using reverse google image search. Shitty rec thread? --> /OP & His Orientation, select any image, and OP learns of his fag status.
A useless endeavour. But having been on 4chan for 9.5 years, I'm no longer ashamed of my hobby or the time I've invested into it.
I see no reason to or what utility anyone would find in it. Plus there are sure to be some personal things sprinkled here and there that I'd rather not see - for example, the folder of my personal uploads/shoops/threads (and my bans), text posts I never submitted, me asking /b/tards for sympathy on my 16th birthday.
You're better off without it.
>pic related, pls no b& /qa/ mods
I already said what I use. Whatever makes the most sense given the board (like a particular board's staples, recurring discussions, its most frequent topics, ie "waifu faggotry" or "TV vs BD comparisons" or "failsubs" on /a/, "muh rig" or "stallman" on /g/), and whatever makes it easier.
I think it's a journey that's worth embarking on by yourself. Perseverance is its own reward.
One of the oldest pictures I have saved, its from futaba channel before 4chan even got made. SA goons use to go there and bring funny pictures and cool stuff back.
My first image. I didn't save it in 2005 but the file dates back to 2005
