Generals are like boards, you need to monitor them for awhile to get used to them. I tried going into the star wars rebels general and it's 100 percent hardcore SW fans who have played every game, read every book and comic, and will call you an embarassment if you get a planet or battle name wrong.
Generals have their own culture because they're the alternative to 6 different threads a day about the same show, and they're generally more fun because mods stay out.
