Because an otaku is actually Japanese, while a weaboo is not Japanese, but thinks Japanese things are really cool (and/or superior to non-Jap alternatives) solely because they're Japanese. They are often very similar in how they live and act, but not always. And the distinction between one actually being Japanese and the other wanting to be Japanese (Using a flawed definition of what it means to be Japanese most of the time) is pretty important.
>>436277 >They are often very similar in how they live and act, What? No they aren't. Otaku is basically the Japanese word for nerd. Weeaboo/Wapanese isn't a word fot nerd, it's a term to refer to those stupid faggots obsessed with japan, consume nothing but japshit, want to live in japan and basically think japan is better. Basically, they want to be Japanese. Otaku and weeaboo are two different things, however, weeaboo will most likely refer to themselves as otaku, like stupid faggots.
>>436282 Weaboo try to live like otaku because, in addition to being obsessed with japan, they are almost always "nerds" who are into the exact same things as otaku. It's very rare to see a weaboo who wants to pursue non-otaku Japanese things.
>>436283 Except, you stupid retard, as I said, Otaku is basically the Japanese word for nerd. There is no 'set way' for Otaku to live. What you are saying is fucking wrong. Weebs might try to 'live like' Otaku, but in no way do Otaku live the same as them. The majority of Otaku aren't fucking Hikki-NEETs.
