Why are the "safe for work" places on 4chan?

The notion that "there is nobody who would ever use 4chan in mixed company" is one of those affectations of "board culture" that ruins this place.

Not sure why you are focusing on just images when the text on some of the blue boards is basically NSFW. And it isn't just "board culture" it is site culture. Like how fag is attached to most words. Not really work safe, is it?

I focused on the images because these are image boards, and pictures are things you can see and interpret on screens on the other sides of rooms. Text no so much.

I seriously doubt people use their work computers for this shit, I'm talkin' a personal device you bring into public or work, and on your own time, you can use it for whatever you want. And reasonable workplace is going to have 4chan blocked, anyway.


So your case, as I understand it, is as follows: People on 4chan say dirty words, and because of this you should not use this website (that is to say, the myriad CLEAN boards) in mixed company because words can kill.


I don't know about you, but people really like Facebook. There are a lot of dirty words on there. Nobody noticed because text from a distance of 10 feet is a series of horizontal, greyish lines. The content is incidental. A picture of a tranny cock leaking pre-cum is going to standout a lot more. And if there is no rule regarding that, that's what you're going to get.

And the mods already can't "fix" tranny cocks on /v/ as it is.

What the fuck happened to this place? 4chan is known as a racist, homophobic, sexist alt and far-right wing, weeaboo, loli, nudes and porn sharing shithole. It's like browsing a porn site in public.
