I completely agree. It makes dumping images on /c/ needlessly long and tedious. Another problem that plagues some threads is bumping them as much and as quickly as possible, leading to fast threads filled with crappy, low-quality fanart.

/jp/ doesn't have a general for it, they just have sporadic threads.
/jp/ is mostly just for 2hus and onaholes and it only moves about twice as fast as /po/.

DJT is currently the only reliable way to discuss the learning of Japanese on a regular basis, which is necessary for learning. Yeah there's /int/, but that's a different animal.

To be fair, all it would take is a little mod effort to tell people to move it to /jp/. I think the hardest part would be trying to get some of the more cocky users to go there because they're so used to it being on /a/. It's seen as too much effort just to move one thread. So it continues to sit on /a/, helping to keep the "Everything /a/ likes, stays." mentality in the heads of enough frequent users.

A bit of /c/ posting on /a/ is normal, generals don't help
/e/,/h/ are mostly inhabited by plebs just reposting images, sometimes low-res versions or source requests.
/w/ is the only one offering some added value

I don't post on anime boards but I think it should be whatever it is on /a/.

Why isn't it 30 seconds on all boards? What is the reasoning behind the distinction between boards in the first place?

Some boards are mostly dedicated to image dumps while others are mostly dedicated to discussion. It makes sense for the cooldown to be 30 seconds for images on image dump boards, not so much on others.

From an outside perspective the two are pretty similar, but it's like going into /hc/ and posting the tamest pictures from Vanity Fair.

There's a distinction between people who want to fap and people who just like the general idea of husbandofagging.
There's no real hard line between the two, of course, but it's broad enough to know it when you see it.

I think /cm/ has like twice the amount of women as /y/ too, so that should give you a hint about who uses the two boards.
