Why are they a full minute on /c/ when /e/ (for instance) is 30 seconds? Given that and the lack of discussion (which seems to actually be discouraged in the mod sticky), there's little incentive to dump in there instead of /a/.

I'd hope they get lowered to encourage people to use it more.

What do you think?

I don't think it would matter. It seems like /a/ wants to post everything on /a/ even though they have multiple boards they can use. I mean, there's a Japanese language general on it when /jp/ exists.

Welcome to /a/ - 2D/Random/Otaku Culture/Japan General
>>
I completely agree. It makes dumping images on /c/ needlessly long and tedious. Another problem that plagues some threads is bumping them as much and as quickly as possible, leading to fast threads filled with crappy, low-quality fanart.
>>
>>430051
/jp/ doesn't have a general for it, they just have sporadic threads.
/jp/ is mostly just for 2hus and onaholes and it only moves about twice as fast as /po/.

DJT is currently the only reliable way to discuss the learning of Japanese on a regular basis, which is necessary for learning. Yeah there's /int/, but that's a different animal.
>>
>>430204
To be fair, all it would take is a little mod effort to tell people to move it to /jp/. I think the hardest part would be trying to get some of the more cocky users to go there because they're so used to it being on /a/. It's seen as too much effort just to move one thread. So it continues to sit on /a/, helping to keep the "Everything /a/ likes, stays." mentality in the heads of enough frequent users.

Image dump boards are a relic of the past, like image galleries, most people use boorus/pixiv

A bit of /c/ posting on /a/ is normal, generals don't help
/e/,/h/ are mostly inhabited by plebs just reposting images, sometimes low-res versions or source requests.
/w/ is the only one offering some added value

What?
>>
>>430277
The image post cooldown was changed to 30 seconds on /c/ and /cm/.
>>
>>430278
I'm testing it now, it's still a minute.

I don't post on anime boards but I think it should be whatever it is on /a/.

Why isn't it 30 seconds on all boards? What is the reasoning behind the distinction between boards in the first place?
>>
>>430280
Try reloading the page on the thread you're dumping in.
>>
>>430283
*the distinction between board timers I meant
>>
>>430284
It works now. Splendid.
>>
>>430283
Some boards are mostly dedicated to image dumps while others are mostly dedicated to discussion. It makes sense for the cooldown to be 30 seconds for images on image dump boards, not so much on others.
>>
>>430278
I'd wager it was changed because of this thread. /c/ is a forgotten board so when it was pointed out they were like "Oh."
>>
>>430243
>most people use boorus/pixiv
I disagree. There's tons of people who don't even know of the built-in image search (which uses IQDB), let alone IQDB proper or SauceNao.

>>430291
That really is funny.
>>
>>430292
I meant most people from /a/
>>
Why is /c/ so dead?

Just checked out /cm/ Cute/Male, and they even have a drawthread.
>>
>>430306
I could be wrong, but /c/'s sticky does seem to discourage discussion.
>>
>>430306
/c/ has other places it likes to bleed into, but fujoshits can't go anywhere but /cm/.

Yeah they try to shit up /y/, but mods have been getting better about sending them on their way lately.

Most would-be /c/unts just post it on /a/ or /jp/ instead.
>>
>>430481
...Why would fujoshi on /y/ be a problem? Isn't that the point?
>>
>>430542
Not him, but presumably they start ranting about the patriarchy and such.
>>
>>430542
The point of /y/ is porn, actually.

From an outside perspective the two are pretty similar, but it's like going into /hc/ and posting the tamest pictures from Vanity Fair.

There's a distinction between people who want to fap and people who just like the general idea of husbandofagging.
There's no real hard line between the two, of course, but it's broad enough to know it when you see it.

I think /cm/ has like twice the amount of women as /y/ too, so that should give you a hint about who uses the two boards.
