Deadmau5 is a moderator at SomethingAwful. R*eddit has regular AMAs with content producers, actors, and even the President.
Meanwhile 4chan is obsessed with pretty internet tribalism, interboard hate, and trying to make sure nobody actually uses the site. There are people who unironically believe that the front page being infected with malware is a positive thing because it results in a deader site.
We're the internet equivalent of North Africa.
God, who cares about celebrities? I don't want 4chan to be mainstream, it would attract more retards. I'd rather have it stay as it is right now (well, having less retards would always be good, but it's difficult to kick them out)
virtually a nobody
mildly famous youtuber
>Aaron from gameshits
no idea, probably a mildly famous youtuber
Not exactly a ringing endorsement, though I agree with your central point. Who gives a fuck.
If you don't like the people here, why stay? I swear, people come to 4chan.org from all of the Internet and world to see what this "assholes of the internet" is all about. Then when they find out that it's exactly as advertised, niggas flip out and try to change everything to match their worldview. What happened to fitting in? Is the concept deemed unnecessary because "lol this place is such a shithole xDDD"?
I ironically believe that.
And anyway, are you bemoaning the nature of anonymity on this site, the utter refusal to honor any form of celebrity? Though of course that seem to have been forgotten with an influx of ... incorrigibles.
except it wasn't
she fell on NYE 2015(maybe 2014) because /b/ told her to.
the guy that made undertale browses here, so does the guy that made "bob's game" and the guy that made RoR
/v/ is also an official kotaku source(although that isn't a good thing).
Being big piles of shit doesn't make them good piles of shit.
Do you WANT a board that is controlled enough to have AMAs with the president on your Malaysian Shadowpuppet Sketching board?
You shouldn't either, faggot.
Remember, Reddit got the way it was because they ban anyone who is a 'troublemaker' IE: Someone who doesn't agree with exactly what they say or think.
4chan doesn't ban you if you express an unpopular opinion or downvote you into the dirt.
This "But 4chan is just as bad!" meme has to end. Reddit has awful community policy built into the design of its posting.
It really doesn't, Not to the extent Reddit does.
4chan bans you for shitposting. So a thread about "XFAGS BTFO" would likely warrant a ban. But uncommon and unpopular opinions? Shit, 4chan is built on those.
There is no other place on the internet where our weeb anime would be tolerated if the userbase was allowed to determine what was or wasn't bannable.
don't get all down on yourselves
reminder that deadmau5 is a faggot who rarely performs at concerts he's booked at
faggot fucking proxys his own shows, does make some damn good music though, but about half of that is just sound design which he only excels at because he's rich and can afford top of the line analog equipment.
No, moot has been making 4chan a welcoming grounds to people from reddit, tumblr, 9gag, etc since 2011 in order to drive up site hits for that sweet ad money. Retards like you who think 4chan and the majority of its userbase are not peoplewho have arrive since the first /q/ and only know 4chan as moot's safespace for newfags can fuck off.
Don't you think it's kind of the anti-thesis of 4chan to have identities? The reason 4chan has anonymous posting is so ideas that are good or equally bad can be posted without the stigma of identity and reputation interfering or allowing people to push their ideas to the extent of overshadowing the entire website.
AMA conflicts with the spirit of 4chan, not being anonymous and all.
Trips are intended to have local use in threads, to designate the OP, and to verify any subsequent or extension threads related to the original. Even a tripfag is still essentially anonymous, and revealing personal identity is against the rules (if I'm not mistake), or is at least contra to the point of imageboards.
Even if 4chan became some safespace cancer, or were at least more communicable and appealing, it would still be essentially anonymous. So the purported 'lack' of celebrities on 4chan is just half-assed conjecture on your part.
I'm pretty sure the board-wars thing came from reddit users, as subreddits that represent opposing ideologies frequently clash on there.
There used to be good-natured banter between boards on this site, now you have people unironically insulting people for being "crossposters" or whatever. It's fucking moronic, and seems to be especially prevalent on /a/.
