It's been pretty horrific for over a year now, and it was never the model of a sophisticated, civilised discussion group in the years I've been going.

I'll probably get called a paranoid tinfoil hat lunatic for suggesting this, but it's clear to me that there are many people who want to stifle some of the more controversial debate on /pol/, and they go about it by going to /pol/ and spamming, sliding, derailing, and playing /pol/acks against each other, as well as other underhand tactics to "BTFO the Nazi hive," or whatever their agenda might be. The problem is that it just wouldn't be /pol/ without the freedom to post virtually anything, but that same freedom opens the door wide for /pol/'s enemies to infiltrate and sabotage the board with destructive spam and false flag posting.

I second the removal of country flags, I don't think there should be any at all. They derail discussion and add nothing.

I don't think you can really enforce Global Rule #3 strictly on any board, least of all /pol/, and I wouldn't want the mods to anyway. Imagine 4chan with no flames! It would be Facebook-level politeness and nobody would show up. But definitely ban for off-topic porn.

Global Rule #6 is too open to interpretation. One could say there hasn't been a quality post on all of 4chan in 5 years, and how could you disprove it?

I'm hoping the election will actually bring some level of normalcy to /pol/, as, like /tv/ often experiences with a show finale, hundreds of new users flood the board and dilute the usual chaos of the regular users who have become too obsessed with the board and are only capable of one way of thinking, which they can only express through memes.

You morons direct brand new traffic towards /pol/ on an hourly basis and those faggots aren't going to stay there despite not having your permission to leave. They will return to their homeboard (and other websites) having been exposed to /pol/.

You are the reason this site is saturated with racist opinions. Trolls love to troll you with race-bait on every board, Stormfags think they need to counter your "SJW propaganda" all over the site, and the general users are siding against your self-righteous preaching and heading to /pol/ in droves to see what the fuss is about.

If allowed to gain traction, they will use any significant policy change to censor all political discussion on refugees, illegal immigration, and likely target Trump supporters across the board.
