So when is the autistic mod banning everyone who uses ''reddit'' on /tv/ going to get fired?
Next he'll try to start a crusade banning everyone who uses ''faggot'' on /b/?
What the fuck, if you're reading this, call mommy so she can come hold your hand and walk you the fuck back home, i.e. reddit.
This reminds me of the crybabies who get banned in League of Legends, getting mad at everyone else because they're too immature to follow the rules they agreed to when they signed up.
4chan has rules too. Maybe you should have read them.
It's actually hilarious if it's swaglord/plebwood doing it
This is literally all their fault for enabling /b/ tier cancer over the last 2 years on the board
>b-b-but we get laughs for taking back bane pictures to the irc channel
Reminder that "Quality of Content" is a very vague rule and has been abused countless times in the past.
Write to Hiro and ask him to clarify the rule.
Well, you shouldn't, because almost every board is either accepting of, or outright dominated by /pol/. So you might as well be saying "please stay here"
It's not about the secret club. The issue with redditors is that they're often clearly unfamiliar with the culture of the board. If they can successfully pretend they're regular anons - I'm 100% okay with them. But they have to walk the fucking line, not post dumb shit thinking they're special.
To play the doubles advocate, that all hinges on if the accusation is accurate, or just thrown about because they disagree with the person in question (which we see all too often on /tv/).
That said, blanket bans don't seem to be particularly effective, especially when done so publicly. It's just led to revenge shitposting and blatant ban evasion.
I don't necessarily disagree that redditposting is shitposting and should be banned from /tv/
What is ridiculous about this whole thing is how they've gone about enforcing this new standard. If this is the precedent for dealing with /tv/'s shitposting problem, we're in for a bad run.
Instead of putting up a sticky, issuing a mass warning, or even issuing a mass ban with links to the 'reddit' posts that caused it, the mods are shooting out blanket bans on dozens of people without explanation. If some newfags who don't know how to use the archive got hit, or even people who didn't stumble across the thread where the mod was doing all the public bans, they aren't going to have a fucking clue what they did wrong.
Hence the /qa/ thread yesterday with a bunch of people wondering why they got a bizarre linkless ban which didn't show the usual 'Anonymous' in the name section
>or just thrown about because they disagree with the person in question (which we see all too often on /tv/).
If this is what you think is happening, you obviously have reddit opinions and taste.
Most anons don't even react to the accusation if they know they're not. I certainly don't. It's just the redditors who get triggered to the point of creating threads asking for a worldfilter.
Again, the quality rule is bullshit that gives the mods an excuse to enforce whatever the fuck they like.
Trying to remove redditposting on /tv/ is like trying to remove baneposting. It's board culture pal, it's never gonna stop.
I agree with this. Redwood 2.0 in the making.
>If some newfags who don't know how to use the archive got hit, or even people who didn't stumble across the thread where the mod was doing all the public bans, they aren't going to have a fucking clue what they did wrong.
Lurk more, faggot.
i am 99% sure the people crying about being called "reddit" on /tv/ are actually people that only came to the board for star wars episode 7
i have noticed no difference in the amount its being said in threads i post in over the last 3 or so years
>The samefag is immunized against all dangers: one may call him a scoundrel, parasite, swindler, profiteer, it all runs off him like water off a raincoat. But call him a samefag and you will be astonished at how he recoils, how injured he is, how he suddenly shrinks back: “I’ve been found out.”
yeah i actually do as i've posted on /tv/ for a very long time and there has always(not always just since game of thrones came out in 2011 really) been redditors throwing shit at each other
and calling each other out. you pick up on stuff
its why i don't get upset when people call me a redditor
based on whats being deleted and what isn't:
this is a janitor from another board that just got promoted to moderator and only came to /tv/ for star wars the force awakens
he is leaving up threads that usually get deleted within 5 minutes(cunnyshit, youtube, etc) but is just going for any post that mentions "reddit" or is full blown '/pol/'
Stay butthurt anon-child.
I've written the equivalent of a fucking 100 page dissertation of quality posts on tv during my tenure, despite the equal amount of butthurt shitposting I did and I have the archives to prove it.
You've not contributed 10% of the quality posting that I did.
Good to see you're still a bitter, one sentence hate poster though. Not much has changed.
literally beddit the post
>stop saying things that offend me!!
I browsed 4chan for a while. Went to reddit for a few years. Now I'm back to 4chan. The people over at reddit fucking ban everything. Anything they disagree with they ban or censor or downvote so it's hidden. They're a bunch of control freaks. They can't stand an opinion different from their so they try to control it. They have lots of money and lots of people. If you don't think they're trying to do the same thing here, you're an idiot.
Is being called reddit an insult?
I honestly don't get it.
People go to 4chan to shitpost.
People go to reddit for actual discussion, albeit it's still pretty shitty, but it's not shitposting to the extreme like /tv/ is.
>It's garbage precisely because of terrible people like you who come to 4chan for the sole purpose of inflicting your shit on people trying to have discussions.
Sorry hun but it's 4chan inflicting their troll bait shit on your threads and not reddit.
You make me laugh hun.
The average 4chan-"only" user, as much of a shit eater as he is, at least has the decency to shit where he eats. Most people want a mix of actual discussion a rollicking meme hilarity. That means that most they'll be aiming for some sort of balance between serious discussion and shitposting anarchy.
People who go elsewhere for their serious discussion, like you, have no qualms about reducing the whole thing to a mindless wasteland. You literally admitted that's what you do just now. Multiplied by a hundred other people like you and you'll drag the whole board even deeper into the trash like shitposting gravity.
So why is reddit the boogieman on /tv/ then?
Why blame it all on reddit, when it's also crossboarders coming to shit in your food in the first place for shits and giggles?
Unfortunately for you, 4chan isn't about serious discussion, it's about light hearted discussions to keep up with the fast posts from incoming traffic.
Also can't really drag down a whole board when it was at the bottom to begin with.
>all these fucktards who think only redditors get upset about getting called reddit
For fucks sake it has become literally impossible to discuss anything without newfags calling it reddit, the board is in worse state than ever
>Why blame it all on reddit, when it's also crossboarders coming to shit in your food in the first place for shits and giggles?
At the end of the day 4chan is one big ship where half the neighbors hate each other, but we still know that if one board descends into an utter trash heap it's going to have an effect on the other boards. Some 4chan posters will sometimes admit that they go out of their way to shit on "other" boards but these people are being fucking cunts and we all know it. We just chalk it up to the fact that there are assholes on the internet and thank the stars that most people aren't out to see the site burn.
>Unfortunately for you, 4chan isn't about serious discussion, it's about light hearted discussions to keep up with the fast posts from incoming traffic.
4chan is about whatever discussion you can muster. Everybody knows that it's easier to post garbage than quality. And people are happy to find quality where they can, like diamonds in the shit.
>Also can't really drag down a whole board when it was at the bottom to begin with.
It can always get more shit. You have to realize that every board is in a constant struggle between more shit and less shit. Don't pour water into a sinking ship just because you think the people trying to bail it out with spoons are misguided or stupid (don't do it for laughs, either). Have some respect for the places you post. At the end of the day, as terrible as the whole place is, a lot of people still think of it as a community where people are struggling together.
Why? Because he's trying something?
I mean it's retarded to ban anyone bashing on reddit that's for sure. But what if it actually works, what if it actually is good in the end?
Mods have been doing nothing for months. /tv/ became a shithole. Someone is trying to do something, wait before judging. It's better than not trying anything.
>what's wrong with shitholes? just because they're not glossy starbucks for braindead millennials to spend daddy's money in doesn't mean they can't exist
>fuck off to reddit, cancer
>le 4chan is for shitposting meme
You might want to go back to /r/4chan. What's wrong with shitholes? This isn't even relevant, what is relevant is that a board got completely changed by a bunch of retards screaming reddit left and right everytime they saw something they didn't like.
You like it? Nice, but the people that were originally populating the board don't, and the board wasn't created for that.
You want a shithole? Then go to fucking >>>/b/ .
If your actual discussion in any way consists of "gb2 reddit", you're not helping your case. Shitposting to counter shitposting just adds another shitpost to the shit pile. Stop feeding the trolls. They'll go elsewhere for food.
Once again newshit mod leaves up threads that use to be deleted within 5 minutes
Whilst he deletes post that appease star wars tourists like him
/tv/ is weird about the whole reddit thing, it's probably because it's not my home board, but they seem to fling reddit accusations around at the drop of a hat. Probably just don't get the culture, but it does, at times, seem detrimental to discussion.
/TV/ is one of the most popular newfriend boards, so a lot of them just latch onto any meme they can to fit in. So they start calling everything Reddit, because they saw somebody else do it and think more they're cool for doing it too
/tv/ has historically been full of the most reddit cross site users since 2011. we've had several injections of them because of things that get made for "mainstream" media
Some examples: Game of Thrones stream share, Game of Thrones lazer eyes(honestly just search "game of thrones 4chan" on google and it all leads back to us), Robert Paulsons 2011 survey, those big bang theory comics, baneposting, star wars TFA leaks, the list goes on.
The worst part is however that if its invisibro/swaglord thats this autistic mod then its literally all his fault for encouraging memes over the last 2 years
