It is full of posters, MANY of them underaged, who don't really care about the board's topic so much as it's a convenient excuse to shitpost with likeminded people. People who genuinely like video games have much better places to go even right here on 4chan.

Video games are easily the most common hobby of all interest boards. Pretty much every newfag starts with /v/ or /b/. And since they've been flooding in at an uncontrollable rate, the concept of lurking moar died and the newfags started to reshape the place in their image and according to their skewed perception of 4chan. Along with having a Steam forums level of knowledge about video games.
