"Containment board" does not just mean "thing that is bad" or "thing that I don't like".
It refers to something very specific, that being topics that are not permitted to overlap with other boards.

So for instance, if you have a case of a video game that has an anime adaptation or vice versa, you will be permitted the video game adaptation of the anime on /v/ or the anime adaptation of the video game on /a/. This is a case where the topic is permitted on both boards.

However, the same can't be said about My Little Pony. You'd be allowed to talk about a My Little Pony video game on /mlp/, however, you would not be allowed to talk about it on /v/. This is because /mlp/ is a containment board.

While [s4s] does heavily emphasize shitposting, the board does not have any actual topic, and thus it is not "containing" anything. It's just a statement that the content quality standards are lower than other boards. Same goes for /b/.
The only containment boards on 4chan are /pol/, /vg/, /vp/, and /mlp/. You *might* be able to argue that /r/ counts as well since recommendation threads are b& on several boards, but that's really up in the air.

4chan would be fine. s4s only has a few hundred users. The real danger is for them, a lot of s4s users are very clever and very depressed young men. There is no drama because they are huddled together for emotional security. The light-hearted and stupid jokes, wrapped in layer upon layer of irony with punchlines so far-removed from themselves they are only funny to the one who posted them, are a defense mechanism. They pretend to be much dumber and much happier than they really are and more than a few suicides have plagued the s4s community recently.

It's the only leg any of them have to stand on and they keep to themselves. s4s does nothing but good for the whole site and especially for its users who really need it. The only reason people don't like it is because they misidentify a lot of the other board's shitty memes as coming from s4s because they are "stupid." If they actually left their pillow fort of safety, they wouldn't share their memes with you because that would ruin them. If you think something on another board is from s4s, simply by merit of the circumstances it almost certainly isn't.

What I'm seeing is too many of their posts outside of 4chan. I've gotten to know many of the namefags and they are consistently very depressed men and boys with an artistic streak. s4s is the only light in their lives and they aren't comfortable anywhere else. Anything you can say about 4chan NEETs applies double or even triple to them.
