I'm sick of not being able to talk about movies or shows on there. It's just a constant dick measuring contest of who can be the most elitist while give the least of a shit about the quality of their posts.
I don't care if someone hates a movie I think is good, but can we at least get a real discussion instead of meme spamming?
I don't watch Game of Thrones. But people should at least be able to talk about it.
>You and people like you wanted this and this is the result of opening the doors to plebs
But everybody on /tv/ are obsessed with proving they're not a "pleb" or "reddit" by putting anything and everything down. I've seen people shitpost in "kino" threads too.
What's acceptable? Besides memes, of course.
>I'm sick of not being able to talk about movies or shows on there.
so stop going there
>board's purose is talking about movies or television
>cannot do that due to shitposting and constant contests to create the dankest meme
>"THERE'S NOTHING WRONG WITH THE BOARD, GO SOMEWHERE ELSE"
No, fuck that. If a board isn't fulfilling its purpose, either change that purpose or clean up the board. /b/ and [s4s] might be full of shit, but that's the fucking intention so it's acceptable. /a/ might be elitist and myopic, but at least you can discuss anime there.
/tv/ needs to be cleaned up. People should be free to banepost or whatever else they want to do, but do it on [s4s] from now on.
Amazing that as shitty as /tv/ is, your complaint has nothing to do with the actual reasons that it's shitty. So I'm going to hazard a guess and say you don't even post there.
Actual problems /tv/ is facing:
>daily porn spam
>constant crossposting from /v/, /a/, and /co/ (i.e. who would star in the movie of [non-/tv/-related property here], which then turns into a discussion about that property that has nothing to do with /tv/)
>/pol/ hijacking threads and turning them into /pol/ threads
>constant shitposting/derailing by bringing up reddit
>shameless youtuber/e-celeb channel whoring
I'm hoping the capeshit and star wars garbage threads will eventually go away on their own.
Also before some autist starts throwing a fit, I don't have anything against /pol/, I browse it myself now and then. But it doesn't fucking belong on /tv/ and I'm sick of having legit /tv/ threads derailed by /pol/acks.
/tv/ is why I love talking about capeshit shows on /co/. You can't fix TV, it's userbase is movie critics, writers and hollywood insider wannabees.
The best way to enjoy /tv/ is to start a Fuck You I Liked It thread, otherwise only use it to bash movies you hated.
The open field day that was Star Wars on /tv/ is the same thing that happens every time something hugely topical or relevant releases. If it's too big to contain in a sticky, they don't bother. Let the hype train roll in and out on its own accord and clean up whatever straggles behind.
Can't say I disagree with this method t b h
I know your pain, baneposting was actually funny as fuck at first, but now it's dead anyway so it doesn't matter.
Now all it is is cuckspamming, calling anyone who disagrees with your opinion pleb or r*ddit, and discussion of actress's "bodies of work"
Fuck you the current /tv/ mods know how to throw a party and have fun. If you want "serious discussion" fuck off back to reddit already. I fucking love swaglord and the rest of the crew, they know how to have fun and not be uptight pricks.
Check this out, based swaglord banning some fag for being a redditor, he got BTFO and put on suicide watch multiple times
