Why was I warned for reporting a picture of animal abuse on /v/

If I were to guess its because you called it Illegal Content instead of just breaking the rules

Not quite. That's always been a bit of a gray area and just reporting it for rule breaking is best. Illegal content reports are basically reserved for CP, probably threats against the president, and shit like that.

Animal abuse may be illegal, but not really in that sense. It's more about legal technicalities or other little laws that get them because otherwise, hunting, slaughterhouses, and things like that would all be illegal. And they clearly aren't. It's fucked up, but not really "report this for illegal content" level fucked up.

And talking about drugs/talking about being high isn't illegal. Same as having pictures of/posting images of animal abuse isn't illegal. The act being illegal doesn't mean that applies to images/video of the act. That only applies to CP. Everything else doesn't have that rule. I can look up tons of gore sites right now that are up legally. And tons of drug forums.

Animal abuse is illegal, but evidence of animal abuse is not illegal to possess. That "illegal content" button is basically exclusively for child pornography and maaaaybe for something like national security secrets or whatever.
