>>409568 I see absolutely no problem in /fg/ threads being themed with other boards in mind.
Something I wish 4chan was more receptive of is "Cross Board Contamination" as I think people should be renaissance men. Sports athletes should also need to be poets, etc. I would like it very much if "Redirect Threads" were legal and acceptable, where you make a thread on /vp/ about the thread on /fg/, etc. It would be nice to see a /v/ thread about Gamergate whose OP is telling people to go to this /pol/ thread, or whatever. I know that this would cause problems, but all good things cause problems and that doesn't necessarily stop good things from being good just because they bring some bad things with them. I dream of a day where we happily dust off our Runescape masks to discuss Runescape as if Runescape is the only thing we know anything about, and then the day after that we talk about Tibia as if it's the best game ever, or Pokemon, or Habbo Hotel, or Second Life, or any other piece of trash that we might not like, but pretending to like it is fun sometimes.
>>409533 /l/ was a thing in the early days. Got shut down because of faggots posting 3d. I do think it should be brought back with aggressive moderation but I don't have high hopes of that actually happening.
You can start adding more boards when we start getting more mods. The mods we have now cannot moderate all these fucking boards. That said, I do want to see in the future:
/wre/: Wrestling board. For all things WWE, Luchadores, Japanese wrestling, Olympic wrestling, NCAA Wrestling, anything wrestling.
/rp/- Roleplay board. Hunger Game Threads, and basically any of those old avatar RP threads /b/ had many years ago. A sort of containment circlejerk board. This would be a blue board.
/mdc/: Capeshit. For all things Superhero. That includes comics, movies, and TV shows that are all related to superheroes in the Marvel and DC universe. That would also mean making /co/ a board for cartoons and comics that aren't Marvel or DC related.
/kai/- Monster board. For all things monsters. Meaning giant Kaiju's to monster girls. Monster Girls are growing in popularity, and Kaiju fans have a loyal base.
/so/- Soap Operas. Basically a board dedicated to any Soap Operas. Korean Soaps are hugely popular, and Chinese ones as well. Mexican ones are also up there
/fur/- Furry board. Sadly this was voted down by /trash/ and 4chan a while back, seeing as hate towards furries is still there. Would still make a lot of sense to have one.
Lots of board ideas, but again only when we get more moderators and janitors. And no a drug board wouldn't work at all. Hiro got into some legal shit a few years back when it was discovered people were running a drug operation ring on 2ch
>>412428 Also remember for those who want a drug board: The server is hosted in the USA. Meaning the FBI can and will crack down on this place if its discovered people are dealing drugs here. Trust me, if this ever does get made, people will do this, specially the cartels.
E-celebs, websites other than 4chan, that kind of thing.
If we had a board for it, we wouldn't have to put up with it on /a/, /v/, and so on. And people who actually are interested in talking about Youtube channels or Twitch streams or websites that aren't 4chan would have a place to talk about them.
It's weird to me because, internet is just another form of media, like TV, music, etc. And it's probably one that a ton of 4chan users spend a lot of their time consuming. Yet there's literally no place on 4chan for discussing it.
>>412446 There should never, under any circumstances, be a loli board on any website as popular as 4chan. Loli is an underground community. 4chan is much too mainstream for a loli community to exist here. You wouldn't like it on /loli/ if /loli/ were on 4chan. It would be absolute garbage.
>>412446 Just make loli okay on /d/. Nobody who finds loli horrifying would be perfectly fine with everything else on /d/, after all. And they don't fit on /b/ because /b/ is full of fucking normalfaggots who derail them with Spiderman spam. So basically it's like saying "okay, you can post it here but only on this unmoderated board."
>>412529 Trust me. You don't want a LARGE lolicon community. The shitposting would drive you nuts. Lolicon should be an underground interest, and it should be on small chans, boorus, and things like that. You don't want an /l/. It would be godawful.
>>412692 Lolicon isn't an underground interest. Every major anime/hentai image sharing site has hundreds of thousands of loli images.Hell, even reddit has like 6 loli subreddits with pretty active communities.
>>412712 No, generals were already once banned on /a/ a bit after they cropped up. This problem never existed. Generals should of never been allowed to creep up on the site. They need to banned not catered to.
>>412725 The big-three were going to shit everything up in their prime regardless of everything. At least one of them for a while got the hammer for a while. But that isn't the point. The point is, banning generals won't have any negative impact and only positive ones. The only threads that will suffer from it are the general shit like madoka and anime with ungodly episode numbers like precure. They will just get beaten in and prevented from doing their eternal general shit that is mostly image dumping, rping and waifufaggoting. On that, the bannings of generals would reduce waifu faggotry, because generalfags are the biggest contributors to that because they don't know any other way of posting
>>413687 Being incapable of picking up the usages of the quote system is not an indicator of newness. I don't understand how newness would have anything to do with whether or not I picked up the usages of the quote system.
There really should be a secret /i/nsurgency board, but it should be heavily moderated. It should be raids for fun, not shit hacktivism. Also, something like a /b2/ where you can post anything but with a heavy moderation, so something like a civilized random board. >>414170 /cs/ is a fucking good idea and there are a lot of collectionists on other boards >vinyls on /mu/ >weeb stuff on /jp/ >books on /lit/ >comics on /cc/ I have a lot of collection-level TCG cards, but there isn't any board to discuss about them. >>412426 This is a fucking great idea.
I'd like to find a board where you can find and discuss famous artists. As in, people that make paintings, sculptures and etc. These are image boards after all. The art boards here are designed for people that make art. If it was allowed on /his/ it would breath more life into that board.
Most of these other board ideas wouldn't be necessary for dividing up those original boards. A lot of this wouldn't be a problem if there was more >Rule clarification >People that report the threads >Mod and janitor intervention
I think the wildcard idea would work on a month to month basis. The GET posters would become an annoying problem. They would have to be niche themes that wouldn't really fall into another board. >/th/ - Theater It would be good for a solid month. I don't see many discussion of plays on /lit/ fwiw >/am/ - Armed Forces People in the army, navy etc. as long as it doesn't become some form of /pol/ board >/bl/ - Blogging and Stories /adv/ and /r9k/ have threads with to an extent, but people usually bitch about them and I think there is a rule preventing those on /adv/. More people should hide them if it really pisses them off >/art/ Art board. See above >/theo/ - Religion Might become a full out flame war board >/sc/ - Social classes The Rich, the poor and middle class. Throw in family heritage and history because who cares >/ap/ - Anthropology and Psychology Stopping now because I'm starting to sound like a pseudointellect. The mods hopefully could probably come up with some other ideas that would be funny or minor
/?/ - Wildcart board when? Change topics in a bi-weekly or weekly basis. The problem is finding topics that are niche enough to not deserve a board, but not too niche to leave /?/ empty during those two weeks.
>>409404 /sew/ Really, why there is no sewing board? because /cgl/? /ag/ needs to exist. A game related board for things like roll images, do your own adventure threads, etc so they can ban that kind of shitposting from boards that use it to derail threads like it is used in /v/.
>>418113 >shitposting CYOAs and Quests are some of the best content to come out of this site. They're also regular. I agree that some are bad, and they shouldn't go on /tg/, but that doesn't mean that it's shitposting.
This. As a regular on /tg/, they are a bit much and clutter things up sometimes, but that's just because they're popular, it's not exactly "LE ROLL LE D20 2 FUCK DA TOOHOO ANUS". It's just guys playing games and I'd love to just have a forum games board. Shit like Mafia, Risk threads, quests, etc., can all go in one place. Then we can all be happy. Labeling them as shitposters for having fun with a game, though, is just overexaggerating heavily.
>>418853 Containment boards don't contain anything, you retard. There is no win/win here, only a lose situation. Furfags have been banished for a reason and they can stay banished. People who are trying to welcome them back were clearly not here for them.
>>418857 Ponyfuckers got their own board because it was around the time when moot started to soften up and lose interest in the site. He didn't want to fucking put the effort in. Also, yes, going by what he has said, he isn't here for the money and he should damn well know its not profitable. Furfags sure as hell aren't going to make him any money either.
