If you could permanently remove one board and it's userbase

This is a blue board which means that it's for everybody (Safe For Work content only). If you see any adult content, please report it.

If you could permanently remove one board and it's userbase from 4chan, which board would you choose and why?
>>
>>402870
this one
fuck you niggers
>>
/r9k/

reddit
>>
qa
>>
/pol/

It'd be one thing if they stayed in their board but they don't, they always feel a need to force their beliefs on the users of boards such as /tv/ and /v/

Even the occasional intelligent discussion that does happen on /pol/ almost always devolves into "white people good, black people bad" or "republicans good, democrats bad"
>>
>>402870

/mu/. The board is a literal tumblr outpost on 4chan.
>>
Anyone that started posting on /tv/ after 2012
>>
>>402870
/f/, but I would replace it with /html5/
>>
>>402883
/mu/'s userbase probably has more in common with /pol/ than tumblr, lol
>>
>>402870
None.
>>
/pol/

Is there really any contest? Maybe /v/ would be a close second, but at least they (typically) keep their shit contained to their own board.
>>
Only one? /vg/.

Multiple choice?
/v/
/vg/
/jp/
/b/
/a/
/cgl/
/mu/
/co/
And every porn board.

There, I saved 4chan by practically killing it.
>>
>>402870
/pol/

Not because i hate racism/homophobia/antisemetism/and other bigotry/ but because the board has gone to shit and is better off gone than existing.

Replace the board with an actual politics board.
>>
/a/, or to be more exact: anyone from /a/ that browses other boards.

Only due to the sad truth the over politicization of this site is caused by everyone and not just /pol/.
>>
[s4s]. The rest are easy enough to ignore.
>>
>>402989
No /b/ is the cause of 4chan popularity.
>>
>>402997
I never said /pol/ made 4chan popular. Nor I claimed anything about /b/.

I actually mean that back when it was recreated /pol/ was envisioned as a contained board for racists and political extremists (mainly conservatives).

Now it's clear that it wasn't a single community doing this but it was an trend that has taken over the Internet. There's no way to get rid of it.
>>
>>402988
>actual politics
but that's exactly what is
nice try tho shill
>>
>>402870
The only acceptable choice is /v/. /v/ is the modern /b/. Killing it and its users would kill a good portion of /r9k/, /pol, /b/ and the vast majority of shitposters and memespouters
>>
/r9k/ no questions asked
>>
>>403013
Yes but there is no discussion, threads about actual political theories are ignored and you get more indepth discussions on the history board about communism and its applications than the politics board, its nothing but country shitposting at this point in time which should be restricted to /int/

>shill
So anyone who disagrees with you is a shill, you poltards are insane.
>>
>>403013
BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH
>>
First choice: /v/
Second choice: /r9k/
>>
/v/
being as large as it is it spawns cancerous crossposters that shit up other boards far more than even /pol/tards with reddit-tier shitposting, master rusemen and emotional manchildren

plus, a lot of the shittiest boards like /pol/ and /r9k/ also likely have a significant portion of /v/ crossposters because their topics and culture go hand-in-hand with being a dependent manchild
>>
>>402870
/mlp/
For being fucking annoying and breaking rules.
>>
If by remove it's entire userbase you mean completely remove them from all boards, then /pol/.
As for a single board, probably [s4s] or /b/. Actually a complete reset of /b/ wouldn't be a bad idea.
>>
>>402985
>getting rid of /jp/ and /vg/ but not /pol/
I never see /vg/ posters infiltrate threads on every board with their shitposts, nor do I even hear about /jp/ fags. /pol/acks, on the other hand, literally shit up every board with their semi-ironic underage shitposting.
>>
>>403117
Why though? They almost never violate the global "no ponies" rule. I never see /mlp/ shitposts on other boards, and I feel like they assimilate into other boards when they're posting there.
For example, when they go on /vg/ they actually post about /v/ideo/g/ames instead of stuff related to /mlp/. Can't say the same for other boards like /pol/ or [s4s].
>>
Definitely /pol/

Because they've leaked out of their containment board ever since the beginning
>>
>>403385
He probably thinks it's still 2011.
>>
>>402989
If you'd ever been on /a/, you'd find that most of them aren't the type to crossboard. I think the 'weeb' images and posts you're seeing are from /v/, as they always crossboard onto /a/ and everywhere else.
>>
>>402889
>yeah haha that board you don't like is more like \pol\ so you basically dislike \pol\ too haha isn't that funny goyi- friend.
>>
>>403433
There's always one dude who thinks /a/'s board culture is 4chan's default culture and will derail any discussion he's on when he sees those tenets are not obeyed.

They are vexxing as fuck. And that's not even talking about the smug anime face shitposters.
>>
>>403435
Fair enough point, I suppose, though, I can't say I often browse other boards besides /a/ and this meta board at times, out of curiosity. I am curious now, though. Can you elaborate on what parts of /a/'s culture that they're forcing?
>>
i particularly hate /s4s/ and their awful sense of humor that's infected the wider site. would delete twice.
>>
>>403437
Mainly about 3 things:

- "User moderation" (aka shitposting unpopular opinions) instead of ignoring and/or reporting
- Recs being literally the worst thing you can do, coupled with the near delusional beliefs of it's consequences
- Always upholding elitism as a good thing and having a constant need to keep newbies out, outright denying the idea of assimilating them.

/co/ as of late is getting their rec threads derailed every time.

Then of course there's the dudes who will troll by claiming 4chan is an anime site, that /a/ was the first board and spam anime faces.
>>
>>403452
Valid grievances, as I suppose some boards would like to welcome newcomers. If that's the board's choice, then so be it. I would say, however, that rec threads are technically a violation of global 16, so I believe that their deletion is most likely justified. The reason /a/ hates rec threads so much is due to the fact that the board would be overrun with them if they weren't deleted, as there can be as many as five rec threads in one hour. If /co/ gets a smaller number on the whole, and the board is generally fine with it, it wouldn't be so much of an issue, then, I suppose. I would understand not wanting to refer them to the shithole that is /r/, but we now have /wsr/, which, on the whole, seems to be handling rec threads quite well.
>>
>>403452
This has always been the way 4chan dealt with newfags though. This is not just /a/'s culture, but what is left of pre 2010 4chan culture.

4chan still is foremost a weeaboo website. The fact that normalfags have taken over most of the boards doesn't mean that 4chan doesn't have the to maintain that image anymore. This is why /a/ isn't being treated as a containment board, definitely not by the mods. Anime or anything related to Japanese culture is allowed everywhere on the website. Hiroyuki could one day take the decision to crack down on all the boards that aren't weeaboo-oriented.
>>
/v/
They never say who their quoting and get really mad when you ask
>>
>>403463
/r/ is a relic that the mods don't want to get rid of. It was made to get rid of "pls shoop this 4 me guise" request on /b/ and other boards but it died almost immediately. /wsr/ will suffer the same problem (that you can't have a community dedicated only to asking things of each other) and posting will drop in a couple months.

People later began to use /r/ to shun newfags who asked for help because lol elitism, then the more anime oriented mods fell knee deep in that culture.

The rest of the site never cared, and rule 16 will only be used by the weeb mods and the odd "I don't like this topic" abuse.

>>403464
m8 /b/ stopped doing anime in 2006. And if you haven't forgotten /b/ was the absolute majority of 4chan until the 10s.

"containment board" is really a buzzword, isnt it?

The only times userbases where tried to be contained was with /pol/ and /mlp/. /pol/ was a spectacular failure and /mlp/, surprisingly, worked.

You're nitpicking, anon. It's a board specifically made to discuss Western comics. It doesn't contradict the fact that 4chan's main focus is Japanese culture.

/vg/ heavily affects /v/. Page 9/10 bumps to not talk about video games. That often causes actual video game discussion to get pushed off of the board. This kind of posting style is just plain stupid on a fast image board. Yes, I go to /v/ more often than any other board, so /vg/ does affect my enjoyment of 4chan by quite a bit.

I forgot about /pol/ for some strange reason. Sorry about that. I never go there, and I see them as the biggest joke on 4chan. Add /r9k/ and /tv/ to my list as well.

/mu/mblr er, /mu/-male, excuse me, I meant /mu/. That board would not be missed if it vanished tomorrow.

This shitheap of a place should be purged
>>

>>402985

why /mu/ though, They never really join any big events ( with the exception of the cups). Few people mention them out side of their board too
>>
>>403651
It's a gateway for redditors and tumblr.

They go to /mu/, feel safe on their blue board where hurt feelings are soothed by the janitors banning people for racism and other hate crimes.

Then they wonder if other boards on 4chan are worth visiting. So they shit up good boards with their redditard opinions and want of censorship.
>>
>>403651
It's just a wasteland of a board
>>
>>403678
Pretty much this.

/mu/ wasn't the first board I went to, but I remember my first time there I was disgusted by the leddit-tier opinions. Now I just ignore it entirely, just looking for different rec's depending on what's being meme'd or browsing random threads.

But /jp/ was made mostly for 2hu containment. That was the main purpose of it to begin with. It did used to have Japanese generals, but they all moved to /int/

Really though I would delete /tv/ at this point. From its ashes make a board for /film/, /cpsht/, and /so/: Soap Operas and Drama Shows
>>
>>403117

>breaking rules

/mlp/ is what containment boards should strive to bee. They always stay in their board, don't shitpost on other words and throughout entire 2015 I've not seen a horsefucker complaining about free speech or censorship due to GR 15.

4chan is a weeb website. Look at the fucking banners and ads. /jp/ and /a/ doesn't have a monopoly on 2hu or anime either.
>>
>>405624
/jp/ is literally made to contain diaperheadposting. Just because should be welcome on any board doesn't mean that /jp/ isn't constantly bombarding other boards with their shitposts.
>>
>>405632
/jp/ is mostly 2hu and monster girl stuff now. Hell the monster girl threads do extremely well

>>405624
Newfags don't want to believe that at all. They refuse to look up 4chan's past and its culture.
>>
>>405635
>4chan's past
Exactly. This is the present, not the past, and 4chan is NOT an anime website.
>>
>>405632
> constantly bombarding other boards with their shitposts

You agree that anime reaction images do not mean /a/ is invading a thread, right?
Touhou discussion, however stupid it may be at times, does not mean /jp/ is invading.
Much of /jp/ and /a/'s base want nothing to do with the more normal boards
>>
>>405647
Except moot said it is and always will be. In fact he sold the site to Hiro because moot wanted 4chan to go back to being an anime centric site again faggot.
>>
>>405652
Nope, moot said that he HOPED 4chan could go back to its roots. Hiro has not made any changes in that direction, he even created a history board, something that you weeb cunts hated.
>>
>>405659
The weebs never hated it. 4chan wanted a history board for the longest time, same with a /wsr/ board.
>>
>>405363
But it's true though

Even when they do post mlp outside the board it gets 404d quickly

Even if many were just shitposters, that has made a lot of users into actual Stormfaggots. They spread their shit everywhere, to boards that are strictly not political. I'd be bothered if I kept seeing Tumblrfags spreading their shit on the boards I go to. If I wanted politics, I'd go to the political board. But none of their users can manage to do that. I'm not mad at /pol/ because of their opinions necessarily, but because they're entitled fucks who think everyone on the site should listen to them.
