Some boards like to have their tans getting dressed up for the ball, [s4s] and /int/ for instance. /pol/ decided to dress /c/ up in a costume which references some northern European party (I think it's in Norway, I'll look it up).

Why not add [s4s]'s Winter Ball outfit in the mix and we could have four different pictures? So all clothes swaps are taken into account? Pic related if necessary.

If you're not up for that, I'd say change the colors for /c/ and call it a day.

Also the armband she wore is from the Nordic Resistance Movement. Not sure about the rest of the costume, probably WWII related or something.

Headcanon. I just thought about it and it made more sense to me. If /fur/ is a human in a fursuit due to backstory rather than being a furry, then /s4s/ is half reddit due to her backstory.

And canonically, black suit /pol/ tan is the /new/ news board redirect. He wasn't originally made on /pol/, which was one of the reasons there was an identity issue with /pol/'s board tan during the 2014 Winterball. Well the redirect disappeared earlier this year (possibly after the /pol/ harbor), but he keeps being drawn despite being the news anons' board tan. There was a fair bit of support for green suit. I don't hate him, he's more representative of current /pol/. Black suit represented the news anons.

Out of all the boards with two tans, /pol/ was concretely justified in having two tans. They literally had two userbases mixed together.

It makes things alot more interesting. Out of respect for the original artists and people on /s4s/, I didn't draw antenna /s4s/, but I always find it sort of weird that the majority of the /s4s/ artists choose to debase /pol/'s black suit board tan rather than work with the /pol/ userbase. There's usually a mix of people upset with black suit being anything less than serious.

kek. My interpretation leans toward somber/serious since it was my homeboard that got deleted. When the arab spring happened, I think the only place to talk about it was either /int/ or /k/, but most of the news users got banned because we started talking about politics on a weapons board. Then people started getting banned on /int/ for talking about politics even though both boards crossed over all the time. Back then it was literally censorship, but only because I think moot wanted 4chan to become more fun but the news anons were very dramatic and trollish people.

There is no lobotimized news, in my opinion. Since I was browsing both /new/ from 4.c h0. n and /pol/, I just took meta info from user posts and used it as a storyboard. According to 4chanhouse, the original /new/ artist was going to retire the news board tan but someone pointed out the redirect, which was why he drew /new/ tan as /pol/ tan. Around the same time, we also had other anons drawing new /pol/ tans (green suit being one), but the /new/ users wanted to keep black suit. What I'm thinking is /new/ tan hijacked the /pol/ board and hid its board tan away until the /pol/ harbor, when moot invited all the boards to crash /pol/'s place. Haven't decided what happens afterwards.

More headcanon: other boards used to think /i/ was a mean board due to rumors that she was an invasion board. Also /x/ and /p/ used to hang out before /x/ became a paranormal board. /b/ canonically hates all the boards.

I just enjoy drawing various depictions. Although I thought /pol/ would be /new/'s kid but that didn't happen with the userbase.

He was also a female during the /pol/ harbor when he turned into a kid. I just put her in an ambiguous jacket with people assuming she was shota. It was why she wanted to get back into her original body in my drawings. She's currently dead now since she was still considered the /new/ redirect after the /pol/ harbor.

The winter balls I never took seriously. The /pol/ users keep bringing back the news tan even though it originally was based on the redirect. /pol/ can pretty much create their own tan at this point.

There are boards where it makes sense, like /vp/, because the pokemon games give you the choice between male and female avatars, or /sp/ which arose, as I understand it, from the dual nature of "football", a major board subject matter.

A board like /cgl/ or /co/ could probably get away with two tans, because of the significant devide between two subject matters in the same board (cape shit vs cartoons; lolita vs cosplay). But /his/ has no reason for such a divide, the flimsy line of reasoning for the old man and loli is that one is "ancient" history and one is "recent" history, but those two aren't divided or vastly different subject matters.

It's like /a/ wanting two tans because old and recent anime are "different", there's no real split, they both easily fall under a single category.

/aco/ is cant get your shit together, the board. Probably don't want to follow their lead, since their tan design has been a clusterfuck from day 1.

There's a big difference between old cars and the latest sports car, but that doesn't mean /o/ needs two tans. The same is true of the various types of food on /ck/, etc. "But there are different kinds of x subject" is not a very good reason for multiple character tans. There are a lot of boards with far bigger divides in subject matter (/co/, /cgl/, /v/, /x/) that work fine with a single tan.
