I had a dream about The Donald.

For some reason he contracted me to write and direct a movie. He told me that - within reason - I would have any resources I needed. The only condition was that the movie must become one of the Top 5 grossing films of all time.

I told him Donald, Mr. Trump, I have no experience writing or directing movies! You've got the wrong guy! He wouldn't accept that as an excuse. He told me:

Rubio will have a hard time winning the primaries, he simply doesn't have a path. It's true that he only needs 800 delegates as opposed to Trump's 1200 (the RNC holds the balance and will give it to Rubio for sure), but right now he doesn't have enough support and some of his policy positions are poison to most of the base. Rubio will inherit Jeb's Right to Rise money, and much more probably, the establishment will go all out to push Rubio and make a final move on Trump but it won't matter. If you assume that the race narrows to three candidates, Trump, Cruz, and Rubio, in which Trump gets 45 and Cruz 30, then the fall of Cruz will surely bring Trump well over 50% nationally and especially in states like Texas. No matter how well Rubio does 1-on-1 against Trump, he will probably end up only winning Utah, California, Colorado, and possibly New Mexico. The bottom line is that if Trump can actually win Iowa, 1) he will have proven he can translate his support in the polls into actual votes, 2) he will have the momentum to clear the table on ALL the early primaries and especially on Super Tuesday and go on to dominate the other primaries.

As an aside, winning Iowa will be particularly impressive for Trump considering it's a social issues state, not exactly Trump's strongsuit, and it has an intimidating caucus process that turns off new voters. That's why everyone says winning Iowa is the holy grail for Trump.

Not winning Iowa on the other hand will harm Trump's image as a winner, depress his momentum, and means he can't get voters to the booth--a big problem because a 20 point lead in New Hampshire is meaningless if these people don't vote.

I find the primary process infuriating and ridiculous. Iowa should not have this kind of power, it's the lamest state in the nation.
