You can only post in this thread if your country has the greatest multirole fighter ever conceived.
Waste of our fucking money, wish we didn't.
>tfw Ameriplebs jealous of the awesome British-designed, British-made Harrier so they made a shittier, more expensive version that catches fire in a lightning storm
Top fucking kek m8s
As a matter of fact, they did.
We made the Rafale because they refused out techs for the Eurofighter. They do refused, on purpose to remove the best technologies from their plane, and to get a smaller market.
Why is beyond me, but once you have fought wars with them, you learn that they have strange ways.
make space you plebs EF2000 coming thru in super cruise!
The French Rafale is based.
Too bad we're allied with America so we have to finance and buy their dodgy jet that can take off vertically (what you're looking for is a helicopter) but can't do much else.
Yes. Look at this shit this bird is carrying.
While Drakens are based af, they're obsolete I'm afraid.
Our government did decide not to, yeah, and I think that was a mistake. Can you seriously not envision a better fighter than the overcomplicated, overdesigned, overbudget Lightning II? Especially the VTOL/STOL versions, they're fucking bastardised hybrids with an engine that's too heavy for the airframe, and an airframe with aerodynamics designed for a totally different engine.
Face it m8, it's a boondoggle that's only going ahead because of the sunk costs that every party involved has pissed away on the thing.
Says the guy with the stealth planes that cost $2 billion each, never fly and will be obsolete within 10 years.
USMC version is the first to enter service and currently the only model in service
Fuck the F35
They should have re-manufactured the F-111.
>is there any aircraft that can fullfill the purpose of a multirole "fighter"?
F-4E, F-14D, F-15E, F-16C, F-18, Mirage 2000, Rafale
>Can you seriously not envision a better fighter than the overcomplicated, overdesigned, overbudget Lightning II?
Let's disect this one at a time:
Do you think this is the 1950s or something? ALL jet fighters are complicated. Pick a fighter jet that you consider simple and then look into the actual mechanics and systems of it: it's never going to be simple.
It better be overdesigned. It has to stay relevant for the next 30-40 years.
Every ambitious project like this goes "overbudget", it's the price of innovation.
>Can you seriously not envision a better fighter
Of course I can. The Pentagon has already begun working with the industry on conceptual development for a 6th gen fighter. Possible features include fully autonomous functioning and laser defense systems. But that won't be here for at least 15 years.
>you can only post in this thread if your country's only widely used long-range bomber is an obsolete piece of shit that was designed in 1948, is the size of a small city on radar and they don't make spare parts for any more
kek. America truly is the cuck of the world
USAF has their F-111s mothballed just in case of a large scale war
Bombers don't need to be replaced as often as fighters because they don't need to compete directly against other aircraft. The B-52 could be in service for a few more decades, really.
And it has friends to help it out wherever its shortcomings lie.
Fucking poms have been butt hurt with us ever since we picked the yank F-111 over their fucking shithouse dog ugly Blackburn Buccaneers.
Jej are those fake cockpits painted on?
We fucking buried ours.
Many tears were shed that day.....
GET IN HERE
IRAN IS KUCKING THE US ONCE AGAIN
This guy knows what's up.
It's amazing what Somali people can build. The msulims make great weapons like pic related
>mfw the "cheap" Gripen is actually more expensive than the F-35.
make sure you don't fly them against a proper airforce.
Ask the Argies howcome.
I don't pay much attention to military technology anymore, but is this still a big deal?
I think those were the fighters in the Top Gear challenge
Fucking kek, dumb Micks can't even fly a prop trainer aircraft
>The bodies of the two Air Corps pilots who were killed when their plane crashed during a training flight in Connemara last night have been recovered from the scene.
>The reason for the crash is clear. Both pilots were drunk as fuck when the planes took a radical decline in height. The last words to the tower beforce ground contact were.......
Fuck off Pierre, is that the same reason Brazil, Canada, the Netherlands, Norway, South Korea, Singapore, Saudi Arabia and Morocco rejected it? Face it, your fighter is a piece of crap with shitty Radar and a shitty HUD, and it's only getting built because India is buying it with aid money.
>implying we don't use them
i was stationed in korea and you could hear those bitches all the time
>jack of all trades, master of none.
Of all the objections to the F-35, this has always struck me as the weirdest. All of the aircraft that the F-35 is intended to replace were ALSO multiroles. If all those countries actually wanted a dedicated air superiority fighter, they would have bought F-15s rather than F-16s.
quit being a retard Germany. you can't even remove kebab with that
The tomcat is still viable however Cheney had some ass kissing to do for McDonnell Douglas
>We totally could have developed something better on our own! We just...um......decided not to!
sad thing is this is likely true gotta lick those fucking american balls
You may only reply to this post if your country is 99% white
>once a month
>once every thirty days
>twelve times a year
I wonder what they are working on right now.
Fuck off Mohammed
Our time will come again, anon ...
>i am retarded
That's the Estonian flag, Sven. Or are you one of the 7.91%?
>Your plane will be repaired in less than twelve parsecs
No German posted this? I am shocked.
They based the A10 on it.
Well they don't need to fly it until they do. Also your forgetting that all the money spent on it stayed in the economy and created valuables research and many jobs for aeronautics.
Silly question, anon.
>Well they don't need to fly it until they do.
Actually they are extremely reluctant to fly it, because of how expensive it is to maintain.
This is the one and only Fighter. Tiger edition.
When I went from the F-16, these felt like bicycles. But the F-5 is a fucking living machine. You can fly it in an entirely different way. In supersonic speed you need to use a lot more stick movements to fluctuate, and the wind sound at low altitude is absolutely hellish. Besides, you can slip backwards in the air during flight acrobatics, something management systems in the F-16 prevents. Real flight skills are required because you have no systems that prevents you to pluck the wings of the hull or choke engines if you're too reckless.
>Besides, you can slip backwards in the air during flight acrobatics, something management systems in the F-16 prevents.
That is because you Norwegians clearly don't teach your pilots properly. Otherwise you would understand aerodynamics... or fuck just stick and rudder skills. Hammerhead stalls my friend.
>could hear those bitches all the time
By the time you hear them, it is too late. That's how the speed of sound works. Try hearing them after takeoff too. You can't even here commercial jets at 30,000 feet and they are much lower than a stealth bomber. Which is meant to be stealth as in no radar detection. God you niggers are dumb.
You guys don't even have a stealth bomber. If you do, it must be gay since no one has ever heard of it.
JIDF please go
>greatest multirole fighter
>A-10 unretired because the F-35 can't replace it after all
Fuck off Shlomo
It also keeps the aircraft stable during VTOL transition.
Its role was to be air to ground and air to air combat capable. It's goal was to be from one side of Canada to other, armed, fueled and fighting in 15 minutes.
It used technology that is revolutionary to this day.
That's not my point; my point was in trying to copy the VTOL/STOL aspect of a Harrier they made a mongrel of an aircraft
Pic related, we're doing pretty well so far!
>tfw when we wasted our money.
Seriously wish we fucking supported our own defence industry senpai.
Is it your butchered cock that causes all this insecurity?
This chart is actually full of legitimate argument.
Placing modern electronic, radar, reactors on a already existent platform would make it perform well while staying at a moderate cost. This extra money mean more money for something else, like a gen 6 drone in 20 years.
It do have no guns. While we can discuss it's relevance in modern fights, you can't call that an omnirole.
There is no correct price.
The payload does not hold comparison with the Rafale, or with two Gripen who have the same price than a F35.
There is a reason the truck is painted white on this image.
Stealth by the design of the plane is seriously more expensive than active compensation of the plane reverberation, and give the same result.
The F22 IS better for air to air fights, there is no debate possible. However, the F22 suck dicks at bombing things. They are made to complete each other, not to compete.
With or without external tank, the range is the price to pay for the thrust/weight ratio.
I will stop here, but you get my point.
What're all these non-american faggots doing here? Y''all don't make f-15 eagles.
Inb4 idiots try to argue with the fighter that has more combat kills than any other - a proven track record.
>hating on the b52
>We need this crazy fucking gun to fly
>Put some jet engines on it
>Heavy armor plating
Just fuck my caliph up senpai.
wot r u on about m8, we have plenty of early warning helicopters so we know we're about to get rekt :^)
>Not the American Next-gen attack variant
Implying that the best one isn't using stealth technology and his knows to the general public.
>The Texan failed to qualify for the Light Attack/Armed Reconnaissance program, because the USAF mailed the exclusion notice to the wrong address, leaving the company with no time to protest the decision.
>mfw Amerifats were so incompetent they didn't order the superior CAS aircraft with proven and reliable tech
Now the only option is probably pic related, but they still won't order it and will develop some retarded in-house aircraft that goes ... let me guess ... a billion dollars over budget
Can the Americlaps do anything right?
Tucanos are fucking horrible. One more example of USG being incompetent at handling business.
Rumor has it that the whole competition for the CAS contract was intentionally corrupted by Obama admin for back-door deals with the Brazilians. AT6 was cheaper, proven on T6 model, loved by pilots, AMERICAN MADE and capable.
>Tornado isn't multirole
Try again, retard.
Slav kebab eaters BTFO by superior Anglo engineering
All these shiny jets and not even a MIGHT TUCANO
Even the us buy them from us
Since we built the technology demonstrator, us.
Eternal anglo jealous of superior slav enginuity
Not one, but TWO SUPER TUCANOS
They A-10 evolved more from the Hawker Hurricane, Hawker Typhoon and P-47 Thunderbolt. The stuka did a similar job but it was designed as a dive bomber more than a long-loiter strike/CAS aircraft. I mena the the A-10s Official name is the Thunderbolt II, not the Warthog, which is just an appropriate nickname.
>kebabs so poor they can't even afford an airbase
the demonstrator was derived from MBB TKF-90
so it's the germans.
Not only do we have the best, we have the cutest one too
>Only widely used.
No The USAF uses the shit out of the B-2, you just never here about it or see them because they are damned hard to track and near invisible when dropping bombs. THey used to fly non stop from Holloman in the US to Afghanistan to remove kebab, so their actual strike missions were indistinguishable from training flights. the bomber we have but almost never use is the lancer because it's mission (Low level Supersonic Penetration)was to fuck up heavily defend airspace, which we haven't done since the gulf war. Lancer's are terribly inefficient in terms of operating cost vs kebab removed, so they just chill while the bomb delivery vans like the 52 do the heavy lifting. If we ever end up fighting Iran or North Korea you'll see Lancer's doing Lancer thing again.
>Piece of shit
Muhammad please. the BUFF has literally removed hundreds of thousands of Kebab in the last decade, it is a nearly perfect tool for the war we are fighting, it can just chill in an area for hours, dropping long range guided munitions from stand off range in complete safety. Yea it's ancient, but its still in service because it's VERY VERY GOOD at what it does.
>needing to be defended from an army that used fucking horse and carts
Wow, Croats really are pathetic
