Yeah i understand now. Paquis is basically the hooker and drug dealing neighborhood of Geneva. It's not new though, the neighborhood was in the same state, and had the same reputation, more than 30 years ago. That's a neighborhood to avoid if you aren't used to the city.

As for Cornavin, well it's the center of Geneva and the main railway station so of course you can expect everything that usually comes with main railway station. I live extremely close to the station, used to it.

What you should do is take a walk near the lake, one of the most beautiful view of Geneva. As for coffee, there's some nice ones in the main market districts of the city, try something like Rue du Rhône. Warning : it won't be cheap.

What i can tell you is to avoid Geneva if you want to shoot guns, the only armory in the city with a shooting range (a good one of top of that) was officially closed not so long ago. You can still find guns, but mostly for hunting.

In addition to that it says "Ersatzfreiheitsstrafe aus Geldstrafe" which means that his fine was replace with prison time. I guess he should have paid his darn fine and moved on.
