How to find sexism 101;

1.Find an industry with more men than women
2.???????
3.Sexism

>Devastatingly, it’s also one of the most gender biased entities in the Western world.

>According to its own numbers, Wikipedia currently has more than 27 million registered editors, yet studies show that up to 90 per cent of them are men.

>But when a handful of users edited the Gamergate page to reflect events from a feminist perspective (as opposed to justifying and minimising the impact of the online abuse of women in the gaming industry) they were banned from the site.

>In a list of 25 best-selling history books of 2014 only two were written by women.

>When the UK Government threatens to remove feminism from the A-level politics syllabus (but is forced the backtrack) it becomes blindingly clear that we’ve got a problem with female representation in history.

>it made a pledge to increase its female editor base to 25 per cent by 2015. Yet most recent studies put the number at 10-15 per cent at best. Jimmy Wales, the most well-known face of Wikipedia, has admitted publicly that it had been a failure.

>reasons she thinks women don’t edit Wikipedia, including a lack of time, a generally off-putting atmosphere and less of a predisposition to battle with a not-particularly-user-friendly interface.

But by far the most poignant and worrying of the suggestions was that the editing process often involves dispute and confrontation, which women are less likely to be willing to deal with than men.

>Simply, tech spaces have a huge sexism problem.

Or. Or.

Women just don't know shit about what 90% of the entries are about.

Do they know the difference between a 4L60E and a 4L65E?

Or how about the LLR and the L52?

What about the Battle of the Bulge? The History of the United States Navy?

These are things that manly guys know about, and I doubt 10% of /pol/ even knows what the 4L60E is without googling it.

>Clearly the solution to this is to ban dissent rather than teaching women to defend their points.

That is exactly what they are trying to do.

While this "banning" is practiced through a complex methodology which involves many different practices, I will name one or two.

One way through which this is accomplished is to control the definitions of words. This allows them to exercise cognitive dissonance and to redirect the conversation to silence the opposition. For instance:

>Racism - ...the belief that all members of each race possess characteristics or abilities specific to that race, especially so as to distinguish it as inferior or superior to another race or races... or .... prejudice, discrimination, or antagonism directed against someone of a different race based on the belief that one's own race is superior.

However, they instead redefine the word by turning it into a math word problem:

>Racism is all that the definition above describes, but it can only be practiced by those who have "power + privilege."

What does this new definition allow them to do? It allows them to exercise cognitive dissonance by issuing statements and supporting laws/policies/procedures that are inherently racist in nature.... but they escape the claim that these things are racist because they lack "power+privilege."

Another means is by simply declaring certain words and terminology to be wrong-think or "discriminatory." The purpose here is to simply deny the other side the ability to make any argument at all. For instance:

>The campus speech police at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee just declared “politically correct” to be taboo.

By these actions they can quell dissent by enforcing punitive actions against wrong-think. This creates an atmosphere of fear that prevents debates from even taking place.

These are just two examples out of MANY, but they highlight my point.

It is, we even had a meme about it

>Only if they cost less in the long run.

Producing sound waves is cheap already. It is just a matter or refining, optimizing and mass-producing units to bring down any costs.

It does not need to even be "massively cheaper" at all. All it needs to be is slightly more cost effective and slightly more efficient and it will replace all current gas-based systems. Combine all of this with the fact that you are not having to deal with toxic gases that can harm the environment and can kill or injure people.... and that do not require expensive haz-mat team to disposed of of when it is time to trash a unit..... and you have a good case for getting rid of gas-based systems entirely.
