Excessive pride on race/family is just a crutch for those with low self esteem. That's why its so prevalent on 4chan and internet forums in general.

Normal people think "I did x. I am smart".
/pol/ think "Some one who looks like me did x. We are smart."

It's a way to take credit and boost self esteem while still being a fuckup. It's why most racists are working class.
