Cruz did not settle the issue.

Trump brought up the very logical point that you should be 100% sure that you're eligible. Because the Democrats will hit him even harder on that.

And since Trump is right on literally everything (including the anchor baby issue which constitutional lawyers said Trump was right on), the people investigating Cruz's eligibility will probably find a bombshell or some kind of loophole that prohibits him from being President.

Also, the argument that Trump is ineligible because Trump's mother was born in Scotland showed that Cruz has a very minimal knowledge of American law.
