Meh. 6/10 movie for me.

It starts off decent. The actual cinematography and sets are amazing. It looks beautiful. But the story is full of stupid shit. At first they set it up to be kind of a mystery, and it builds some decent tension, but then it just turns fucking stupid really quickly. Like they reveal who the "bad guy" is, and it's just dumb. Then everyone basically dies in the most over the top retarded B movie shit I have ever seen. Just as a movie it seems like it's constantly bouncing between wanting to be taken seriously and being absolutely stupid. It's weirdly excellent in parts and simultaneously grade A garbage in others, so you're left with this really uneven experience.

Of course, there's the dumb racist scene that everyone always talks about. Samuel L Jackson makes some confederate general's son crawl naked through the snow so that he can mouth rape him and it's supposed to be some kind of poetic justice since confederates are racist devils or whatever but it's just pointless antagonizing filth that is meant to be porn for leftists. It's just out of place, distracting, and unnecessary to anything in the film. Basically check out his interview about Star Wars and Disney. He was meant to have 2 weeks showing at this great theatre then Disney 2 weeks before that. Anyway Disney got greedy and said they wanted 4 weeks showing or they'd refuse to show the film to the entire state. Disney are cunts end of.
