I make over $100k off the games I sell. I have not been featured in an online review by any major site. I don't even need them. I have my base of fans that I cater to.

Steam, app stores, and even consoles being opened up to independent developers have done much to change the landscape. These game journalists are fighting over scraps. The thing that affects game sales the most are customer reviews at this point.

I have information you guys need to hear.
I can't give any sources, and this is going to seem crazy so bear with with me.
If you've already gotten some word of this sorry for the delay, I have been without internet.

You are all under the impression that the conspiracy against the industry is a Marxist one, but it goes deeper than simple e drama and nepotism.

There is a very powerful government firm of a major world power invested in this, believe it or not.
They've put together a think tank of sorts to use alter and exploit "fringe" or "niche" media and entertainment as a propaganda tool.

I'll layout the general plan, it will make understanding much easier:

1. Break into niche media/entertainment by way of purchasing companies and intellectual properties

2. Mass inflate budgets and marketing of niche products and widen demographics, this accomplishes two things:
a) Draws in the easily controlled trend following masses who sustain your new products
b) Alienates the original fanbase/consumer base

3. After a few years of this, purchase or setup media commentary and communities for said entertainment
This allows you to further alienate said fanbases as these sites become less niche and the trend followers flow in

4. Become hostile to old consumer base in your products and media, and turn new consumers on old consumers and vice versa.

5. After the old consumer base has retreated as far as they can into complete fringes, create a controlled crisis

6. When this happens allow the old consumers a "way out", usually by getting them to compromise to a degree or accept a half victory.

7. "Normalization" period were the media becomes less hostile and people begin to come back out, this causes the two consumer bases to "mix"

Since the consumer base is heavily mixed in demographics this causes people to have a "herd" like mentality and lose the ability to discern information.

The end result is the complete elimination of any "fringe" communities, or a complete and total reduction to the point of meaninglessness.

This isn't about social justice, or the "casuals", or the money. This is about elimination any consumer groups who don't drink Dew and mindlessly spend, they want to eliminate critical thinking entirely.
