It isn't the Mandella Effect, it has been erroneously been titled Berenstein before. I have proof and I can actually explain this one.

The show that most /pol/acks are familiar is the 80's version replayed. Not the 2003 version. The 80's series featured a theme song where it was pronounced the way we know it. STEIN not STAIN. Since basically no one looked at the fucking title card and only listened to the theme and way it was pronounced in the show this led to a lot of confusion for the publisher. Since most the books were old by the time the show was being syndicated and it hit an upswing in popularity, they simply reprinted with the books with the alternate phonetic spelling.

Then in 2003 when they remade the series, they did the correct pronunciation and reprints with the STAIN as opposed to STEIN.
