I have a "fuck boomers" folder, I'll repost some shit

--------------

>have boomer uncle
> baptist christard
> scolds anyone who says the lords name in vain
> obese
> whines about the gubmint while having a useless public sector job (education bureaucrat)
> thinks all young men should join the military
> calls the cops when he sees teenagers smoking weed

Its as if they're actively trying to be hated.
>>
>>32324696
haha made me laught
>mfw when getting ready to use post 9/11 bill and make some money while i'm out
things are looking good once you know how to get what you want from the system
>>
>>32325772

personally, I can't stand how fucking stupid they are. baby boomers have destroyed America, they've destroyed the institution of marriage with feminism, and they've destroyed the white race with their multiculturalism.

what sad, utter, complete failures at life. Baby boomers were the most selfish generation to ever exist.

-----------------------------

>"I'm telling you, you need to walk into a McDonalds or Wendy's and show them you're commited. Walk in and tell him you want a job, that's how i got one. You keep working there until you get Manager, then Regional manager and then CEO, by your age i had already had a family, paid off my house and 2 cars and raised 2 kids. Your generation isn't committed enough."

------------------------------

>or maybe rather, because you goddamn DUMBFUCK BABY BOOMER MOTHER FUCKERS ALLOWED TENS OF MILLIONS OF FUCKING PARASITE ILLEGAL IMMIGRATES TO FLOOD INTO OUR COUTNRY AND TAKE ALL THE JOBS, maybe that's why I can't get a job, dad.
>>
>>32325806

>"Son you're a loser, you aren't committed. You need to start at the bottom of the corporate ladder and work your way up. Go to college son, what's that? WELL OF COURSE it's expensive but that 50k debt is worth it. You will find a job with a degree"

-----------------------------

WHAT'S THAT SON?! YOU GOT A DEGREE SO YOU DON'T HAVE TO BE A BURGER-FLIPPER. WELL, NOW IT'S TIME FOR YOU TO GO OUT AND GET A JOB! WHAT'S THAT, YOU DON'T WANT TO FLIP BURGERS AS YOUR FIRST JOB?! YOU THINK YOU'RE TOO GOOD TO FLIP BURGERS?!

-------------------------------

"Hi, boomer dad. Why did I have to travel 10,000 miles to Asia just to find a decent woman who isn't a filthy disgusting slut?"

"Oh, that is because my generation created feminism, which ruined my generation and your generation of women, son."

"Thanks dad. Enjoy your racially mixed grandchildren, you bastard."

----------------------------

"Son, just walk into some place and ask to see the manager they will automatically GIVE you a job!"
>>
>>32325848

yes boomers had a much easier life. they actually had jobs, nice non-feminist wives, a nice and clean white society, low crime rate (because drugs hadn't been suppressed yet giving rise to a black market and niggers hadn't been given equality yet). and so on and so on.

goddamn you baby boomers. you sold your own children into a life of slavery. and yet boomers don't even feel ashamed about this.

I hope the govt creates a repressive police state and starts killing off millions of Americans, starting with boomers. Boomers truly are useless eaters who should be terminated.

----------------------------

SON, SO YOU GOT TIME TO TYPE ON THE INTERNETS BUT NOT GET A JOB???

WHATS WRONG, TOO GOOD TO FLIP BURGERS????

THAT REMINDS ME I JUST GOT A BONUS FOR REPLACING BURGER FLIPPERS WITH ROBOTS. I HOPE YOU GOT YOUR DEGREE IN BURGEROLOGY SO YOU CAN GET A MANAGER POSITIONS!!!!!

LOL!!!!!

-----------------------------

or hey mr boomer, how about i just pound your head in with a crowbar while you are walking home from the bank with your pension check, and then take your pension check from you and leave you half-dead in the street?

how about that, mr boomer? sound fun?
>>
>>32325879

THAT REMINDS ME NEW IDEA:

WHAT IF WE CHARGED PER WORD FOR TYPING ON THE INTERNET THING???

LOOKS LIKE ANOTHER SUMMER HOME FOR ME!!!!

------------------------------

>The Baby Boomers: whiny, narcissistic, self-indulgent people with a simple philosophy: “Gimme that! It’s mine!” These people were given everything, everything was handed to them, and they took it all, sold it all; sex, drugs, and rock ‘n’ roll, and they stayed loaded for twenty years and had a free ride. But now they’re staring down the barrel of middle-age burnout, and they don’t like it. They don’t like it, so they’ve become self-righteous, and they wanna make things hard for young people. They tell em abstain from sex, say no to drugs. As for rock ‘n’ roll, they sold that for television commercials a long time ago so they can buy pasta machines and StairMasters and soybean futures. You know something? They’re cold, bloodless people. It’s in their slogans, it’s in their rhetoric: “No pain, no gain,” “Just do it,” “Life is short, play hard,” “Shit happens, deal with it,” “Get a life.” These people went from “Do your own thing” to “Just say no!” They went from “Love is all you need” to “Whoever winds up with the most toys, wins”, and they went from cocaine to Rogaine. And you know something? They’re still counting grams, only now it’s fat grams. And the worst of it is we have to watch the commercials on TV for Levi’s loose-fitting jeans and fat-ass Docker pants because these degenerate, yuppie, Boomer cocksuckers couldn’t keep their hands off the croissants and the Häägen-Dasz and their big fat asses have spread all over and they have to wear fat-ass Docker pants. Fuck these Boomers, fuck these yuppies… and fuck everyone, now that I think of it.

I don't think my dad can really full understand that even if I worked full-time on minimum wage, it'd take me 2 months to save up for school, maybe three so I could afford the books.

Full time minimum wage is less than $1,600 per month. It's a trap.

--------------------------------

fuck that shit, man. back in 2010, i applied to 150 different jobs, and like 70 or 80 of those were fucking fast food jobs. only got two interviews, and no job.

Fuck you boomer, you shouldnt have let all the immigrants come in and steal all our jobs. now you are going to have to support me financially for the rest of your life, retard boomer. have fun working till you drop, lulz, i'll be having fun jerking off and playing video games.

---------------------------------

yea funny how boomers did all those drugs as hippies, then in the 80s, they started the "war on drugs" which caused the prison population in America to skyrocket to astronomical levels.

what disgusting, fucking hypocrites.
>>
>>32325942

dude, you can barely afford a shitty one bedroom apartment, and food, and gas, working full time on a min wage job.

boomers are such stupid fucks. i cannot wait for them to all hurry up and just die off.

---------------------------------

Saddest thing is todays youth dont have the wisdom of their grandparents to turn to. Instead they have babyboomers who forsook the traditions of their elders.

-----------------------------------

It's the rat race and theres a time limit. No one wants higher anyone at a certain age without anything that will back you up besides a paper telling Them that your qualified. I'm sure you've seen your fellow dinosaurs working minimum wage jobs before

------------------------------------

well as tyler durden said, we are the smartest generation of men to ever exist. we have so much potential and yet it is squandered.

Fight Club really was the movie that captured the feelings of our GenX master race, at least for young men.
>>
>>32325976

This boomer movie one is great:

---------

>tfw 19
>tfw all 'entry level jobs' require experience in the work place
>tfw no experience because the majority of the jobs here require that
>makes no sense
>grandpa tells me to just go in and full out a resume
>tell him that's a waste of time
>goes on a rant about when he was my age he had a job and enlisted in the military
>tell him times have changed and it's not that easy
>tells me to leave
>okay.jpg

The boomer RV.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_QKbIb8wcz0

Skip to 12:00. These 2 obese baby boomers say they plan on spending everything they have on an RV trip, they sold their home for a 250k RV and plan on leaving nothing to their children.

I'd love to go on an RV trip, but do you really need a 250k RV when you can make do with a 15K one? Do you really need to sell your house when you can rent it out?
>>
>>32324878

Ha.
>>
>>32324909

My favorite.
>>
>>32326022

Life's so hard. I have to adapt to a new employment environment and possibly consider moving or doing a trade. The movies told me that a college degree would get me a job! What do you mean my oversaturated STEM degree won't land me a 100k job at Apple? Gee whiz, my failures surely aren't my own fault. Well screw it! I applied for 50 jobs and heard nothing.

--------------------------------------------

>16 years old
>'oh honey, you don't need a job! You're going to study hard, go to university and become a famous artist! You dont want to make the same mistake as flipping burgers like me.'
> 5 years later, doing well at university studying full time.
>'so you're too good to flip burgers, huh? Go get a real job.'

------------------------------------------

ITT: gen xers talk shit because they already passed their prime and faded into obscurity without doing anything significant, blame young people for being dissatisfied with the state of the world they didn't do anything to fix because all they ever had to do to live comfortably was learn how to use machines that 6 year olds can now operate
>>
My story.

>Graduated high school in 2006
>Didn't give a shit about college because I know a history degree is worthless.
>Got a job at a supermarket making $10 an hour.
>Moved up the ranks started to make $23 an hour.
>Union got buttfucked by the company. Benefits slashed, hours soon cut.
>Quits job goes to work at warehouse.
>Starts at $15
>Moves up the ranks
>Gets brought in by the facilities engineers.
>Learn how to fix conveyer belts.
>Takes a short class to make it official, and get a paper.
>Makes $32 an hour.
>>
>>32326511

And this is where things have changed. Employers don't give a shit how well an employee does their jobs as long as they are not losing money. In their eyes the mediocre employee is just as valuable as the hard worker. If the hard worker quits there is another mediocre worker to take his place for the same pay or less.

Employees are commodities in employer's eyes rather than investments like they were 50 years ago.

-----------------------------------------

The Boomers on the other hand:

>outsourced all the jobs
>bankrupted the country and the world's trust in endless/futile war (Drugs, Terror, Vietnam)
>cowards who only stood against the Vietnam war when the draft was a thing
>draft ends, none of them care about the slaughter of yellow people anymore
>stood by as hyperinflation occurred
>stood by as college tuition went up 50000%
>stood by as taxes continue to go up to pay for their precious medicare and social security, of which none will be left for any other generation
>doesn't understand the new technological world which they watched grow
>sees themselves as the greatest generation (lel)
>blames the youth for all of this

gonna be a brave new world when you old fucks die
>>
>>32325772
>>32325582
At least turn off your trip before you samefag.
>>
>>32326562

>You can do anything!
>Turns out you can't do anything and the game is rigged
>Better go to college if you don't want to flip burgers
>What's the matter, too good to flip burgers just because you've got a degree?
>Get a job you welfare scrounging kid
>They better not cut my pension or social security
>Still have all the top careers meaning no one can move up meaning entry level jobs are fought over tooth and nail
>Telling kids they should work for free to get experience in order for the privilege to make someone else rich
>Having to figuratively suck the dick off every interviewer and have a bachelors in customer service

>Why do kids have no respect for their elders these days?

-----------------------------------------

No, boomers are THE WORST generation.
> sold off American jobs to China
>"hurr durr lazy kiddos don' have jobs' cuz they is lazy! I blame them comptuors n' gadgets"

Worst part is, many of these detached old farts are in places if power (congress, House of Representatives, etc..) A sort of ivory tower they built themselves.
>>
>>32326596

I'm not the same guy that dumped the boomer pics, I'm dumping old posts from my archives.

>>32326601

The baby boomers have consistently shown themselves to be the most selfish generation in living memory. They were given the world, with amazing education in math, science, language, and college professors that actually fucking cared. They had limited debt and costs of living were low.

Their political activism was a clusterfuck. They voted for the worst politicians ever. They allowed corporatism and political elitism to corrupt society. They were indifferent or endorsed crisis just to make the near future "easier" while fucking over millions in other parts of the world. They never cared one instant about the world they were leaving behind for their own kids, or how all those people who were fucked over might hold a grudge.

When they finally had kids (if at all and very little) they were too busy with their own lives to raise them: Instead the likes of Mr. Rogers became a surrogate father for millions. When they failed to make their marriages work they went on to become spectacular failures as single parents who worked even LONGER and spent LESS time with their kids just to make ends meet, all while trying to pretend with a false smile that they were a normal family.

They agreed to foreign wars of aggression, they allowed themselves to be manipulated by politics of fear and consumerism, they follow irrational blind creeds and forced their kids to believe the same bullshit. The older they get the more hateful, fearful, and obsolete they become. They are parasites in every single sense of the word. They won't even leave any social security or welfare behind for their kids
>>
>>32326645

>no jobs, all positions are held by old fuckers who don't want to retire because muh pension
>burger flipping jobs taken by foreigners who can get paid 15% less and employers let them go when they have to pay them minimum wage and then hire new foreigners and the cycle continues.
>graduated from IT program
>employers STILL choose to hire foreigners for this because they can pay them 15% less
>nobody will fix it because this country is foreigner heaven and we can't let it stop.
>no party wants to get these fuckers the hell out.

-----------------------------------------

Those people fought and died so the third world could be free to destroy the Caucasian demographic throughout Europe and America, under thecodeword "Multiculturalism". Those people fought so that homosexuality was pushed onto the young as a trendy and preferable lifestyle. Those people fought and died so that women could use every institution and every opportunity to castrate and berate men to the point where the modern male is a shell of its former self. So, what are we to thank them for again?

Entitled boomers are a large part of the problem. I recall once overhearing at a restaurant some boomer bitching about how if his lawn service couldn't hire illegals then he'd have to pay 5x more and couldn't afford to have such a huge lawn. I couldn't help but think that was the most boomer thing I had ever heard. And that's how they think.
>>
>>32325132
More like

>>
>>32326687

Baby boomer dad when I was a child: "Anon, you can't give up on things so easily just because they're hard. You have to practice and work on something until you get better at it.'

Baby boomer dad today: "Anon, come help me with this computer thing you showed me 5 times how to do already! Technology is so hard, I just don't get it!"

--------------------------------------

Boomers don't follow "The Golden Rule." Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.

All this bullshit that boomers put me through. Getting all these certifications, degrees, previous experience, internships, are violations of the golden rule.

A boomer could go into a workplace and "give them a firm handshake" and get hired that day. Now it takes months, lots of paperwork, years of school, and years of experience for that same job. This isn't following the golden rule. Boomers would not want to be treated like this, this is not how they got into the workforce themselves.
>>
>>32326691
which lead to prosperity?

what kinda point are you trying to make here
>>
>>32326729

This was from a thread that basically asked "Why do politicians cater to boomers?"

>You want to actual answer? Because there are a lot of them.
Politicians cater to majorities. It is how they win votes. There are a lot of baby boomers and always have been, so politicians have always bent over backwards to do what ever will please them. All though their life policy has been directed to benefit them, giving them an easy ride, and the generations before and after have had to pay the price. Being able to live this charmed life of hope and opportunity, they think it will always just be that easy for everybody, unknowing that they are ruining the world for everybody around them.

They are selfish pricks because they don't know any better, like a spoilt kid.
>>
>>32326755

>Boomers make children get into debt for college, indebting many of them for life.
>Boomers refuse to give children jobs
>Boomers refuse to train anyone
>Boomers import millions of Mexicans who don't pay taxes and send money back to Mexico.
>Boomers expect their children to pay for social security.

There WON'T be a social security for anyone like this. Boomers want to steal from their children, but that's like stealing from the poor, they don't have anything.

Boomers were so stupid to make their children go into debt, refusing to train them, and hiring foreigners. Boomers are just like their obesity, the obese and rich baby boomers expect to be carried by the malnourished and poor gen Y. This can't last and gen Y will simply leave the baby boomers to die.

-----------------------

When the boomers retire and die off, there will be no one replacing them in jobs. Boomers refuse to train their children for a job, so the jobs will get filled by incompetent and under-trained gen y'ers, assuming those jobs get filled at all.

The 2009 crash was caused be a decline in spending power of the Boomers, they reached an age where they no longer spend as much money as they used to. When the boomers physically die off, there will be an enormous collapse.

The worst thing they did was fund the Mujahadeen in Afghanistan and now look at Syria, Iraq, Afghanistan, Chechnya. The real enemy all along was Saudi Arabia pushing their Wahhabi/Salafist/Jihadist crap onto the world, removing secular dictators like Gaddafi, replacing them with Jihadis. Trying to do the same with Assad.

The Soviet's were the good guys in Afghanistan. An Afghan Soviet Socialist Republic would be a lot better than the hellhole it is now.

A lot of people have fond memories of living under Soviet Communism. Free housing, free education, jobs even for people that didn't want jobs. Then Capitalism destroyed it all.

My parents are boomers, my grandfather was from the generation before them. The man worked like a fucking machine to get what he had.

A few months before he died, we had a discussion. He told me how when he was young, he often ate nothing but some bread and water and baloney was a luxury. I pointed out to him that nowadays, baloney is cheaper than bread. Much cheaper. That's when he realized how fucked up things are for his grandchildren.

The reason we denounce their bullshit isn't to try and enlighten them. It's to make people realize how full of shit they are and how their perspective of the world is completely worthless. >Saddest thing is todays youth dont have the wisdom of their grandparents to turn to. Instead they have babyboomers who forsook the traditions of their elders.
Holy shit... This!

I'm Gen Y. What a difference there was when speaking to my grandparents (who had their flaws. Though nowhere near the degree of my careless, boomer parents) and my parents. Anything I needed to learn about life and self-respect, I learned from talking to my grandparents. They would bring the topics up in a meaningful conversation. My boomer parents talk about nothing but the televitz (honestly, they do not talk about anything else); never anything of meaning or consequence. My parents taught me nothing past the age of ~14. My parents taught me nothing about life, responsibility, or the real world. My grandparents told me to always be and try my best, because that's how you (as a good person) make a positive and meaningful impact on the shitty world that the boomers were creating.

My grandparents (again, though they had their flaws) died in fairly good physical health (they were as active as they could be, up until they could be), had a respectable personality, and I -and probably most of history- saw them as a good example. My boomer parents are disgusting couch potatoes, who eat nothing but shit, watch the televitz all day, and I cannot recall ever seeing them "genuinely" respect another human being, unless they had something to gain.

History will judge the boomers as one of the worst generation's that this world has ever seen. Their ability to lie to themselves, and sleep well is almost admirable. However, history will put that fucking myth to rest, along with their morbidly obese, feeble-minded corpses.

The overwhelming majority of boomers I've met are shitty people, whom the world would be a much better place without. Thankfully, they have one foot in the grave.

Though yes, the current boomer generation is going to go down in history as perhaps being the most selfish, and outside of Rome, the generation that squandered the most promise. The difference between that Roman conclusion and the boomers, is that the boomers are so arrogant, that they are currently going down in flames and pointing the finger everywhere else, except where it belongs - on them.

People don't need to work harder, they don't need to get more experience, they don't need more education, they're not "entitled". Everything boomers say concerning those statements is complete bullshit which can be shot down by having any knowledge of how things were back when they were young.

What people need to do is change things. Realize the upper classes are draining the wealth from the rest of the people to the point where they can barely afford a home, let alone kids.

Actually, my grandparents did not own a television until much later (I recall that my parents were in their late teens by then). They encouraged my boomer parents to be physically active, respectful, and well-read. My grandparents (on both sides) required my parents to attend church. This was mostly due to surviving the atrocities of war and respecting life. Everything my grandparents stood for, my boomer parents rebelled against. Any proof I need of this (since I was not actually alive), I can see in the fruits of their labors. I respected and loved my grandparents. I admired them and felt a duty to make them proud. My parents were (and still are) fat, stupid, arrogant, aggressive, careless, pothead, drug using, assholes. The biggest difference in character between the two generations, is that the majority of boomers I've met do not have self-respect, and thus none for others. This is a magnificent character trait.

The difference in character and behavior between my parents and theirs is night and day. I have no reason to believe that my parents were not raised with every good intention, but every reason to believe they were disrespectful, rebellious, little pieces of shit.

They would rather waste away at our own expense in paid off housing (which their parents actually paid off), go on cruises to countries where there is slave labor getting drunk on mai tais and eating shrimp cocktails, while lambasting their own children for not meeting their expectations of how they should live their lives. Meanwhile, their children worked their asses off in school and jobs to try and live up to their expectations in order to get some kind of respect, or love, that will NEVER be fullfillled. The children of the boomers will either accept that they will never be as well off, or, resort to medication and brainwashing by the MSM in order to not only feel better, but to also garner some sort of sympathy / relation to their parents. Boomers inherited a vast system of interstates built by their parents and now, a generation later, 67,000 bridges are "structurally deficient" and they complain how the highways are too congested with the young people that they made.

Boomers grew up seeing the Civil Rights Act enacted and President Kennedy putting a man on the moon as he boldly promised.

Unfortunately the Baby Boomers weren't able to replicate such paradigm shifts of civility or ambition.

Boomers grew up in a country that was ascendant toward becoming the world's first Superpower, and instead of taking the ball and running it, they handed it off to China.

After jacking up the price of a college education, Baby Boomers started for-profit colleges and predatory education loans for our generation, which temporarily lined their pockets at the expense of America's future both domestically and on the global commercial stage. Since 1978 compensation for CEOs has risen 725%, while the growth in worker compensation has risen only 5.7% in that time (making our income inequality WORSE than Ancient Rome's). After having their balls plated in brass, the Baby Boomers are blaming this generation for not contributing very much to the economy.

The greatest irony from the worst generation is their inexorable refrain that we are, "losing traditional America", which is to say, "Things used to be better", and they are exactly right- things used to be far better before they were handed the keys.

actually, no. the US ended the gold standard in order to protect the dollar as the "go-to" currency for international trade transactions.

by 1971, european nations (previously decimated by WWII) were recovering, and exchanging the US dollars they held for gold. ergo, european governments of countries (such as france, germany, and the UK) were increasing their gold reserves, wherein their currencies began to "creep up to"/catch up to the value of the dollar.

while it is true that we citizens are suffering from the artificial inflation caused by losing the gold standard, it wasn't due to some decades-old "jewish conspiracy." it was a geopolitical strategic move the save the "bretton-woods" agreement.

>Typical Starting Salary for Petroleum Engineers with a Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree

>When a prospective student looks at a career, becoming a petroleum engineer is likely one of the highest starting salaries of any profession. Not only does this field pay extremely well compared to others, but the job market looks to remain steady in 2014 and in the near future. Petroleum engineering starting salary with a bachelor’s degree is going to pay on average $75,000 and 95,000 depending on the company and location. This is one of the best starting salaries that a college graduate could hope to get and it looks to remain strong for the near future.

As one would expect, the top paying industry for petroleum engineering is oil and gas extraction, averaging $161,100 annual salary.

but kids are led to believe that we won't be using oil and gas in the next 20 years.
So instead they major in "Environmental Technology" or "Sustainable Engineering". All STEM majors are more concerned about solving "issues that matter" like global warming or world hunger. I know that the best thing to do is make bank so that I don't have to deal with that shit, because China, Brazil and India will fuck the environment anyways, as long as there are kyke bankers willing to fund them.
As a petroleum geologist, I know that there will be a day when I have to switch to working with water or mineral extraction, but by that time I might be looking at retirement anyways.

Do you have a point?

Petro engineers are few and demand is high that's why the salaries are still high. If people take your advice and start flooding the job market for petro engineers then demand will decrease and wages will fall.

Your comparing one isolated career to the economy as a while completely out of context. Your entire argument is irrelevant.

The vast majority of majors in college these days are business majors. STEM jobs as a whole only make up about 10% of graduates.
>>
>>32331103
Environmental engineering and sciences is one of the fastest growing fields right now. Sure, it's not 6 figures out of school but it's still has a low unemployment rate. It's full of both public and private sector jobs, which in our current system, makes it very safe to go into.

I don't get it - why does it sucks, if he also got a job for your brother and it saved him from NEEting away his life? Why would you want to punch people for? You're mad that foreigners "are taking American jobs"?

>The ones who allowed China to fuck our economy (and theirs).

They allowed that because their have benefited from it. Maybe they had shares in those companies and the board decided to cut expenses by outsourcing jobs to Asia.
So you'll receive all this.

>The ones who left us with muh feminism, muh diversity, muh equality, while they can sit back and not deal with any of that crap because they have too much money.
>But they're the ones who pay my bills.

Exactly. You don't have any rght to complain about "difficult hard life in the US" then.
If "they" (the boomers, and your dad who is employing foreigners) destroyed the economy and "stole the future" then it's YOU who are going to inherit all that stolen future.
Including those shares of companies who shipped jobs to Asia.

You're forgetting boomers grew up in a world where every other country was still decimated by WWII and had no manufacturing capabilities.

It wa only in the 90s that China caught up, and Wal-Mart led the charge to have everyone's manufacturing jobs outsourced, along with all the IT help desk jobs that were outsourced to China.

That by itself led to our economy beinga service sector economy, which didn't have any union protections, hence the big push at McDonald's and to raise the minimum wage.

And that's before you get into the crippling college loan debt you'll graduate with or the fact that our money has devalued.

Today's workers KNOW they're getting a raw deal, and boomers telling us to just go in there and shake the manager's hand isn't helping.
>>

>>
>>32331207
There won't be a "shortage of jobs", but there will soon be a surplus of majors. I put shortage in quotes because the only thing causing it will be a surplus of majors; no underlying cause.
I even thought about EnE, and if you're defending your choice of major, you're gonna make it. I did Petroleum geology instead of petroleum engineers mainly because geologists can get those living-wage-paying, pensioned, benefit-heavy low intensity government jobs if they want. Petroleum engineers cannot.
>>
>>32330670

Also, the US produced 50% of the worlds GDP after the war, because every other industrial nation was in ruins. There was a huge demand in labor and energy was cheap. A single wage earner could easily feed a family, finance a house and buy a car. The tax base was broad & stable and could afford to subsidize education among other things.

The baby boomers grew up in this age of abundance. The generations after them weren't as lucky, because the other economies began to catch up. By the early eighties, when GenX entered college and the workforce, the party was mostly over.

They had some of the best investment conditions of any generation. This spoiled them and caused them to not comprehend how economics works. Now they expect their children to wallow in poverty and struggle to ever achieve any sort of economic stability so that they can enjoy a comfortable retirement that they think they are entitled to.

Oh but whatever,. just go in there and look the manager in the eye and shake his hand...

My grand dad was at Normandy. He died when I was about 10. He only ever said one thing about the war that he would dig a foxhole any chance he got to. I also found a picture of him with General Patton. They were both smiling. My grand dad raised me in my earliest years of life because my boomer parents never gave a shit about me. He didn't like them either. He took me on vacations which my parents never did. He also set up a college fund for me but my parents cashed it out for themselves after he died. He paid off his house and my parents got it but they took a mortgage on it so they could build a pool. They ended up selling the house after the real estate bubble burst for less than it was worth.

Now my parents are retiring and they've got it made big time. They were always worthless but they're getting loads of money from their pensions. It's not possible for them to save anything they just spend, spend, spend.

I remember my grand dad telling me not to listen to anything they tell me.

The courseload is very demanding, but you will be rewarded if you put up for it.
tl;dr getting a degree in Petro E isn't as easy as getting a degree in EE or CivE or one of the other many flooded engineering majors. Not saying those are easy majors, just flooded.

Yes, this is true the US economy was at incredible advantage right after WW2.
But I still don't get why are you blaming boomers?
Do you think it was feasible for them to hold this advantage forever? They should have nuked Japan, China and Germany or something to prevent they own economy to shink and be out-competed?
This was inevitable and you probably realize that yourself.

>They had some of the best investment conditions of any generation. This spoiled them and caused them to not comprehend how economics works. Now they expect their children to wallow in poverty and struggle to ever achieve any sort of economic stability so that they can enjoy a comfortable retirement that they think they are entitled to.

You exaggerate there, to make it more dramatic. This is nowhere near "wallowing in poverty". For this to happen there should be a civil war in the US or something of that magnitude. Even if China will make in to #1 economy (which is still under question) the US will still hold first place in innovations and technology.
Sure, things aren't as good as they used to be, but this had to be expected as economies in competing regions grew.
Stop panicking the situation it isn't that bad as you're trying to present it to be.
>>
>>32331646

I know from experience us millennial can be whiny, but there's one thing I can't stand about boomers. And that's that they don't understand that the economy and the path needed to get a good job these days is entirely different. They always go on about how hard they worked, his they did this and that. That's fine and dandy, but the market is different than it was 30-50 years ago
>>
>>32332085
they're mid50s-early 70s fuckers who caused the housing crisis, ridiculous qualifications necessary for employment, actually receive social security, and have the option of retiring and maintaining their lifestyle.

they hold little regard for later generations and see themselves separate from the younger public.
>>
>>32332145

I'm probably most sad about the fact that home ownership is going away. LLCs and property investment firms are purchasing all the houses, slapping paint on them, and then renting them out at adjusted prices because lack of other alternatives.

Even if you buy land and start from scratch you need a lot of money. At best my generation can only hope to own their own small mobile home. And not the long drive it and drop it and leave it kinds iether. But the small kind you can pull with a pick up truck.
>>
>>32332123
Yeah, it's definitely the best route to go for income. I'm fine with making 80k and potentially 120k once I'm middle aged and have been in the industry for a while. My family always ask me why I didnt stick with chemistry and be a pharmacist. And it's simply because this still makes decent money and I actually enjoy the academia and work I do. this. Perhaps if the laws were tweaked so that home ownership is discouraged if you aren't living in said home. Not illegal, just discouraged. Like tax hikes, excessive permits, complicated ordinances, etc.
I don't think it's a good thing that mass property firms in China own half the houses out there.
Yes, I don't think that people with yellow skin, slanted eyes, and little regard for individual life, are entitled to participate in a free market. Come at me.

Boomers aren't exactly bright. Also, the housing crisis mainly started because under educated minorities really really wanted a house.

Dutchman here, our babyboomers actually did something for our nation. They built the whole fucking country back up after we got fucked in WW2. Now our parents are basically the equivalent of your boomers. They fucked everything up while living it up and passing the bill to us. Our grandparents now need to live in shitty conditions because that nigger-generation never got their collective shits together and started protesting against all the leftist bullshit.

Here's a little greentext about a conversation with my dad:

>Just got fired from my weekend job because I turned 18 and got more expensive than cheeki-breeki bastards
>"Why don't you just send a job application to the local supermarket?"
"I am to old for that now, dad"
>"Kids these days are so lazy! I worked since I was 16 and studied after hours to climb the ladder!"
It's not the 80's anymore. Jobs aren't exactly there for the taking...
>"Those are real easy excuses! It's all because you spend to much time with your friends and those retarded videogames"

At that moment I got angry and basically showed my whole power lever, telling him how lazy and irresponsible his generation was. And that even now they refused to fucking do something.

>>32324756

my mom at least fully admits that it's impossible to work your way through college the way she did when she was going to school. She worked a summer job and that paid for her tuition, books, and living expenses, and then had a part time job at a drug store just to make some gas and spending money on the side.

She's freaked when she saw $5000 tuition and lab fees for a semester, not counting the $400 in books, $200 in parking, and what would have been $7000 in room and board.

She never complained about letting me stay at home while I went to school after that. Never uttered one word about how she worked her way through college and I should be able to do it with just a summer job (I was doing summer classes as it was)
>>
>>32333088
Well the arabs and blacks are not even that much of a problem in the job market since most refuse to work. The real problem when talking about jobs is the eastern Europeans. Because of that fucking EU we get a shit ton of those cheeki breeki drunks. Since they are less expensive and we have our nice and high minimum wage they are hired over students that need their money to come by. Fuck I sure do hate what the previous generation did. They had everything! They had a small rise in nationalism in the 80's and fucking allowed it to be destroyed again! Chinese economy started to grow and take it's current form in the 80's, after they have started their reforms.
It was then when Western corporations really began to build their production facilities there. Middle-late 80s, during Reagan administration. Clinton just continued and expanded this.
When one of the largest stock market booble busts happened? 1986. Again, during Reagan administration.
Who has greatly expanded military spending (infamous "SDI program") and increased the deficit? Reagan administration.

How can people blame the boomers for "destroying the economy" (as if boomers were in charge in the 80's) and then praise the people, who benefited from this destruction ("good old patriots from 40's").
It's ridiculous.

He makes more money than my brother who has a masters and me with a bachelors. I jus try not to dwell on it.
>>
What if the "devaluation of higher education" happened due to increased (bloated) supply in the first place. Outsourcing jobs and invint immigrants aside, every parent wanted his children to have at least a college diploma, as a integral part of the American dream. It comes to the point where you cannot even tell your friends or colleagues at work about your family, without saying that your kids are studying. If they aren't then you're seen by your peers as a loser, who cannot afford tuition/raised his kids wrong so they aren't able to pay for it.
Then every-fucking-one is pressed by parents to enroll, tuition prices skyrocket, while at the same time value of degrees diminishes, as it becomes a common thing and everyone has at least a bachelor degree.

And all that because parent just wanted a better future for their kids or at least pretend to be successful.

no actually this is people realizing that they are not solely to blame for their situation. this is people realizing that life isn't about ones own personal success, but that the individual is also responsible for the succeeding generations.

boomers brought people into the world yet they did not secure the future. whether you like it or not, parents DO have obligations and responsibilities to their children. if you do not like that, there is the simple fact that someone will have to wipe their asses when they turn 90. that alone is enough proof.

most of the posts here are no antisocial and selfish but are bringing to light the clear selfishness of boomers who essentially betrayed their nation and race so that they could live in luxury while their children and grand children are hopeless.

but people will change the world, but the first thing we need to do is understand what caused this situation we are in. it certainly wasn't us, who did not even ask to be brought into the world.

my grandpa is a boomer, born in 39. He's a cool guy though. He got a ranch hand job at 17 and worked there until they forcefully retired him at age 67 the day before he would have started his 51st year with the ranch. He never knew anything else. on the downside he was provided a ranch house at the cost of getting a small check. So he got small checks, but never paid real bills. The problem being that he never owned a home, despite living in it for near 50 years.

He's been divorced 3 times and really dislikes women now though. So he bought a travel trailer and lives out on his land he bought back in the 80s for dirt cheap. He's pretty much full on hermit now. Whenever we go and see him he gives me advice on how to not commit to women and put too much time and money in them. He's also racist in that old folk way, not the whole "I hate them darkies" but hte whole "black people smell bad" kind of way.

yeah most bullshit degrees were not because someone necessarily intended on working in that field, but simply because it allowed someone to learn about a specific topic while taking courses in the "core requirements".

Going to college was about broadening ones horizons, socializing and enjoy youth while educating oneself in their passion at the same time as refining language and math skills.

that was just an "average" college experience. then of course you had more specific degree programs for those certain of what they wanted to do.

i finished school in 2007 and even then, not long ago at all, college was still seen as more of an enriching experience where you could be confident you could get an entry level job so long as you had a degree in anything.

now it is different.

I didn't get my degree in Psychology because I expected necessarily to work in that field. I worked part time and earned a degree just because it refined my abilities. people say it is "shit tier" and all this stuff but it wasn't about being this competitive asshole struggling to land a job, it was because i was enjoying my life and had an optimistic view of the future.

>>
>>32330687
that is the most annoying thing of all is when they complain when you are actually WORKING. that is the worst.

even if you DO work you are lazy. it is like... "what?" never good enough. their mcmansions are never good enough, their paychecks are never good enough, and their children are never good enough. nothing is ever good enough.
>>
>>32332983
the germans certainly weren't the ones to fuck your nation. it was the allies that bombed europe to the ground.
>>
>>32334479

Yeah I looked it up. The lost generation came of age during WWI. I don't know what generation somebody born in '39 is. They were lucky enough to miss all the wars unless they enlisted for Vietnam.

My generation too, gen X, missed all the wars. The millennials served voluntarily in Iraq etc. but those guys (volunteers) probably don't bitch about baby boomers all day.
>>
>>32334765

The Silent Generation is what they're called, IIRC.

I've heard a couple commentators saying that the millenials will grow up to be the 2nd silent generation.
>>
>>32334765
gen x is a pretty wide generation though. It's 60-80 right? how old are you
>>
>>32334184
clearly you are a defensive coward.

there is indeed something called blame.

if we are to do anything about this situation we need to understand who and what are to blame.

to say it is some inherent character defect in our parents is not the intention. we all know that if we were in that situation we may have done the same considering we are our parents' children.

we need to form a new nation and base it on principles of selflessness and national identity. we need to spread wealth throughout many generations, not put debt on our children like the majority of boomers have.

but see you do not like to hear this for some reason, even though it is logical.

me simply TRYING to repeat the same tactics as my parents and to delude myself into thinking it is possible to make it in this world by "normal" means is a delusion.

So I'm a coward if I don't go around blaming everyone else for my problems.

Interesting assessment, little-boy.
>>
So what are boomers good at?
>>
>>32335137
little boy? you don't know shit.

you don't think there is blame? really? so if I go over you your house and kick your ass it is not my fault?
>>
>>32334938
>if we are to do anything about this situation we need to understand who and what are to blame.

Little blame-game fuck-heads just like you, jimmy. I.e., feminists, hippies and little millennial cry-babies.

It will be your fault for causing your own brains to dash out of your own little skull, bitch boy.
>>

>>
>>32335137
i'll go on further to say that I know someone who works at a school treating kids with speech and hearing disorders how to talk. She is up to her neck and debt from student loans.

who created that situation? Is SHE to blame? Or is it some corrupt policy made by some useless people?

what sane society would allow this? why should someone who spends her life SERVING HUMANITY have to pay a dime for education?

it is because someone else wants to line their pockets with money.

I know someone who lives in comfort off of originating mortgages, essentially collecting slaves for a bank. He lives in a big house and has a summer house in Florida which is empty 95% of the time but the pool is always maintained for when they may happen to make a little flight down there for the weekend.

now that is supposed to be fair?
>>
>>32334936

Gen X is too wide really it's not very Cohesive.

My uncle was born in '63, he's considered a Gen X, and I was born in '80, also considered Gen X. But both of us lack the typical "fuck it, I just don't care about anything" attitude of a true Gen X. He's mostly boomer, considering he was raised by the same parents as my boomer mom and her other boomer siblings with the exception that he's more into technology and things like videogames than any of the rest of them, and I'm more Gen Y having grown up surrounded by technology and was more post cold war raised than cold war.

Gen X is born into the middle of the cold war, and missed the initial post world war II boom, they grew up in a stagnating economy and hit a recession right as they were coming into adulthood. They tended to be more nihilistic. I guess Gen Y's/Millenials do have some in common with them, but Gen Y's and Millenials are more politically active than Gen X's, which are mostly apathetic.
>>
>>32335169
Being a hyper consumer. I ideal consumer. No demographic in the history of mankind has been the perfect consumer as the boomer.

They drive the economy with their reckless spending. All the economics downturns have been caused by boomer debt and then once the recover from it they start spending even more than they did before.

The "second mortgage" and "third mortgage" are a boomer thing. Nobody gets that privilege of credit like boomers do. Did I say that they spend? They spend absolutely shitloads of money and a lot of them spend until they're broke.

It's probably from all the television they watch. Gen X is more careful with spending, millennials are the most frugal generation since the great depression.
>>
>>32335389
>who created that situation? Is SHE to blame?

Yes. She signed the loan application.
>>
>>32335323
"bitch boy" ok have fun wanking. make sure you think of me when you do! as I know you have a fixation on "boys" and "bitches"

Should I become a garbageman? I find it alluring somehow, and I've heard the pay/benefits aren't half bad.

Fuck your little anecdotal sympathy card you're trying to play here, you dishonest little creep.

Argue on the merits.

the term "boomer" is really misleading. It seems "boomers" really applies to anyone born between 1945ish and 1970.
>>
>>32335440
I know you think you are being smart, but we all know that is bullshit that essential public roles are given to debt slaves while thieves run off with the money. of course the majority of such thieves are boomers.

you can still get boomer level of success today. You just have to be a little more business savvy and pick your battles. It's more precision than it is the scatter shot boomers had, but none the less you can still get that success.

I know a guy for example who worked in a furniture store moving furniture for a little over min. On weekends he'd take his mower and mow lawns. All the money he saved went to purchasing a trailer and riding mower. He could now do lawnmowing jobs faster and quicker, all under the table no less.

Finally he decided to go legit, while still working at the furniture store, and printed out business cards. Eventually he landed his first commercial job for a local credit union. After doing that, and private jobs, he could afford to get a buddy in on it and was his boss. 10 years later he opened up an office and hired a secretary to mind the books. Quit his furniture job. He's now on year 12, has a nice house, nice car, office, and 3 crews of two that he employs for 9.85 an hour.

He's not super rich. But he makes around 80-95k a year, with no degree, and no boss of his own and people he gets to boss around. All because he noticed a lack of cheap "landscaping" gigs in the area and filled that demand.

I am smart, little timmy. Smarter than you. Smart enough to recognize an envious little cry-baby faggot.

but I don't envy him. I don't even want those things. I want to be able to work full time and feel like I am not one paycheck away from living on the streets.

i know the type of guy you are. you think you're real "smart" but you are just two faced. you are just trying to win this argument by sounding "smart" but you really just defend scumbags and dirt bags.

you look at a persons value by how much money they have, not by what they GIVE to the world.

a mortgage originator is a scumbag. they give nothing to the world but are paid with nonexistent monopoly money to dish out nonexistent money so that the bank can have another tangible asset.

The 1929 (maybe as early as 1925 I don't know the cutoff)-1945 generation is called the "Silent Generation", smaller families because of having to deal with the depression and the war to follow, but were too young to actually go to war. They were also known as the "Beats" or "Beatniks" once they were fully grown. Tended to be cynical of society and taught the more radical boomers their ideologies and were kind of predecessors to the boomer Hippies. Greatest Gen was those born during or shortly after world war I up to the early 1920's.

This is our future. 25 years of growth recession. Imagine if you were born in 1975 in Japan and you've spent your whole adult life knowing that you will never have it as good as your parents.

>millennials are the most frugal generation since the great depression

You have to be kidding me.
I must have encountered some different millenials then, who would buy every new Iphone, game console even stand in lines for this, to buy it overpriced. And i'm not even getting into clothes, brand accessories and all that. Frugal, no shit.

And this is for good reason too. Do they have any incentive to save money? No. Why the fuck would they, if money is being made out of thin air these days, interest rates on deposits in banks are ridiculously low 9in Eu they are like 0.3-0.4% annual).
People are encouraged either to burn money as fast as possible and even take loans to burn more than they have or make risky investments (stable ones don't pay off anymore or there's limited access to these stocks).
So the outcome is predictable. You can't even blame them for not being frugal. People who save money these days tend to lose it in the end because of inflation.
>inb4 buy gold
Yeah, no.
You can buy gold only if you can throw away some cash and forget about for at least 5 years. It's a long term investment.
If you going to need that money in a year or two you will lose money because of spread, course fluctuations and so on.

Electrical contracting and HVAC. The pay varies from year to year.

you aren't. I know your type. you live your life trying to look real "smart" real "clever" and "savvy" but we know the truth about your kind.

you try to apply a sort of cynical logic to everything in between bouts of jerking off. we all know the sort. a big obstacle for everyone that wants to work together to form a better world are assholes like you who would rather defend the status quo just to appear "smart" than actually do something of value.

you would rob people blind so long as you could prove you were so "smart" so "clever"

dime a dozen. just an idiot with his eye on the prize.
