But the idea of a company that makes electric vehicles for profit is fucking stupid. The idea a company will be green is even more fucking stupid.

The battery plant that Tesla needs to build to put cheaper batteries in its cars and thus make a profit, is going to pollute thousands of acres of land no matter where its put, and release millions of tons of carbon.

Converting X energy in a plant to chemical energy in a battery to electrical energy in the car to kinetic energy moving the car is probably going to be a lot harder than converting chemical energy in petroleum straight to kinetic energy through explosions.

Most of the inefficiency in a gas car comes from the fact that a lot of the leftover energy from the burning gas escapes the engine. Creating a more efficient engine would go a much farther way than making a better electric car, a better battery production, a better factory to produce batteries, etc.

Also, another big question is: how the hell does the factory work? Chances are its running on an inefficient petroleum burning engine anyway. So, you get al the inefficiencies of oil burning, and then you get even more conversions at the end, so more and more energy is being wasted.
