There was another “gay Muslim” wedding this month that didn’t receive nearly the same amount of attention. They also wanted the resignation of the NASIMCO’s President Mohamed A. Dewji — because he knew about this wedding in advance and didn’t openly condemn it.

Again, these are young Muslims from North America. Not radicals from the Middle East.

The petition has received nearly 1,000 signatures so far.

And it worked. Siddika Jessa quickly resigned from her position — but not before writing an open letter to her critics. It’s really a beautiful letter because of how she doesn’t back away from supporting her son.
