Any society in the history of humans that has achieved relative peace and integration has stagnated.

Why were the British able to dominate the Chinese in the Opium wars? The Chinese hadn't faced any real external threats to their supremacy since the Mongols, and even then it was other asians who moved in on yet another stagnating empire. Strength is in separation and real diversity, and conflict and war is the way we push ourselves to achieve. Why did the Europeans have a huge leg up on the rest of the planet following the protestant reformation, 30 years war, and rise of nationalism? Because conflict and rivalries forced innovation.

People chase and search for a utopia like you would see on Star Trek, where all of humanity has solved base problems (food, materials, crime). Are we simply supposed to come up with great ideas when we're comfortable and not facing any sort of threat or adversity? Star Trek has even eliminated capitalism so there is not even corporate competition.

Chasing world peace, the end of war and conflict, and the homogenization of the human race into one disgusting culture (i.e. death of real, actual diversity and separation) would cause an extreme stagnation of ideas and innovation, and bring about our ultimate demise.

Kenya are having their presidential election today.
The favored candidate is the incumbent president, Uhuru Kenyatta. He is facing Raila Odinga, basically the most uppity nigger in all of Kenya. Last time he defeated Raila Odinga, and whenever Raila Odinga loses, the entire country devolves into a chimp out.

Come watch the chimp out. Violence is supposed to start soon once it's clear the incumbent president will remain in office. Odinga's supporters are crazy, they won't be able to handle him losing for a third time.
