This wasn't an inside job. This was potentially the largest pro-white rally in decades, and most attendees were very very likely people directly from /pol/ representing our beliefs in the public sphere. This includes the driver of the car.

The rally was swiftly shit down before it could even begin, creating a clusterfuck for people coming in and people going out. The police pushed antifa next to identitarians and there were fights everywhere. Traffic was abysmal. The driver was one of the attendees who was pissed at the loss of potential of the event and likely snapped, hitting a gaggle of liberals thinking he'd probably become a martyr since /pol/ openly stated you wanted violence and death.

The fact things go wrong doesn't mean it's not your fault. Your anonymity and detachment from reality(95% don't show your beliefs in public and most don't even post) doesn't mean you can pretend things are always the fault of your enemies and set up to hurt you.

You need to deal with your victim complex.

Can anyone who was at the Charlottesville protest tell us how the KKK / actual neo-nazis were treated by the rest of "Unite the Right"?

If Unite the Right physically distanced themselves from the KKK / neo-nazis, this would make important ammunition when arguing that UTR aren't actual nazis.

Literally, all UTR had to do to avoid 50% of media backlash was to physically distance themselves from the people wearing robes and swastikas and doing nazi salutes. That's all they had to do. They should have beat the shit out of the people giving the nazi salute during the march -- the media would have no way of calling them nazis if they kicked out the nazis.
