Reminder that "authority" is a social manifestation of power and power cannot be destroyed.
Power can however be decentralized and reset through anarchy, but darwinism and the basal social need for established authority for human civilization to survive would reestablish the authoritarian state through expansion and integration of other weaker decentralized power structures, thus making anarchy pointless in the long run as the authoritarian state reestablishes itself as if nothing happened.
The appeal of anarchy(anarcho communism/capitalism especially) is that by decentralizing power from a central state that you yourself can obtain it and exert it for your own interests. In reality this creates a kind of microstate within your sphere of influence but others also possess said microstates and this creates absolute fucking chaos. Instead of one authority beating someone for arbitrary reasons while 99 watch, now 100 people are beating each other for arbitrary reasons. This isn't a viable form of government, its a dogmatic weapon intended to destroy the fabric of nations through dissolution of social order for a foreign benefactor.
Is that to say authority should not be questioned or opposed? No, but the illusion that you are capable of destroying authority itself as a construct is a fallacy. You simply replace unpopular authoritarian with popular authoritarian, anything less is inefficient and self destructive.

I can't help but shake this feeling that the internet is the cause for almost all of the problems in the world today. Humans simply weren't meant to have this much connectivity with each other. Go out into the real world and everything's fine but online things have never been more divided. Should social media be destroyed?
