Both of these pictures were taken with a Sony RX100 Mark 2. You can get those pretty cheap these days so I think that'd be perfect. It's tiny and it takes great photos. Other options are the GR as >>2763929 suggested, but it's a bit more of a photographers camera due to the wide prime lens. The GR will reward you if you put the time into learning photography, but the RX100 would be my pick simply because it's smaller, easier for a beginner to use and has a really quite good zoom lens.

Your Xperia could easily fill that roll though. The best camera is the one you have with you and the Xperia cameras are pretty good!

I like how you tried to impress everyone by saying you took the first picture, when the EXIF data says it was taken with an entirely different camera than you claimed.

Here's a tip:
You're new. Don't try to impress people around here, they're cruel and will shit on most everything you do. Especially as a new photographer. Just ask for advice and take it.

Sony A6300 is the end all be all APS-C, but since your budget is limited get a A6000 which is still beating the competition.

OP get a Canon G16, no memes (other than /p/'s irrational hatred of all things Canon) but it will do what you want. It's dependable, built like a brick shithouse and if you do fuck it up there are some very charming ladies at the service centre in Chong Nongsi who will get it fixed for you (you'll be lucky to find service centres for any of the meme brands)
