There's lots of good books on Amazon and videos on youtube. It's really basic stuff.

Best way though, IMO, is to look at portfolios from successful photographers. If you're into fashion photography then look through magazines. You'll very quickly spot patterns and what does/doesn't work and what's in/out of fashion if you just look.
