Full Frame is usually better bang for the buck if you don't mind last year's Sony cameras.
I always want to poke out my eyes when I see crop sensor cameras that cost 1000-2000 dollars.

It's a bit different for each sensor standard.
In theory m4/3 and APS-C really ought to win on this benchmark.
(The smaller sensors should have gained from sensor advancement long before Full Frame can.)
But in practice, due to the way Sony's income is divided into mainly smartphone sensor and Full Frame sensor, the sensor advancements completely skips m4/3 and APS-C systems. These only get the new technologies after smartphones and Full Frame.

Going by that logic it would be better to go with a crop body because older 135 lenses have bad vetting and softness. I might as well not crop out that shit in post and get better image quality similar perceived pixel density.

ie: f/2.8 on FF = f/1.4 on mft
f/1.4 on FF = f/0.7 on mft
Bigger sensor is more economical when you have many lenses, smaller sensor is more economical when you have fewer lenses.
