Don't wanna bring you down, but those aren't overly good. I get what you were going for in some of them, but they're still not interesting, plus they're not perfect, technically speaking. Just taking photos of people isn't street- or people-photography. As you say yourself, they're snaps, they're not exciting, there's nothing much worth looking at, nothing that catches the eye, nothing that tells a story.

I hope those goals included 'one point perspective' and 'symmetry', because that covers most of these shots hah.
Otherwise, you know you can be much more creative than this. Get some diagonal lines, look up and down, left and right instead of just directly down the path you're walking on.
Yes, your black and white images are too grey. Black and white shots tend to be higher contrast to avoid this, but personally I would avoid converting digital shots to b&w unless you know what you're doing (you should know for sure that it will be black and white before you've even taken the picture). But maybe that's just me.

This is the only one that really stands out to me as having potential. It could be improved in post (see my quick edit), but that wouldn't fix the framing. The vertical line on the right should be where the edge of the frame is. Also you probably should have aimed a bit higher or lower (your choice).
If you're interested in what I did in the edit:
Increased overall contrast (only relevant because b&w)
Reduced contrast of the puffy coat to give more attention to the kids
Brightened the slab at the bottom to make the spiral look more dank

it was more like pay more attention to composition and distracting elements. also better use of lines and making sure they dont lead away from the subject.
i did plan on a bw set except for the top two i knew i wanted color.
i'll tweak the contrast for the ones i want to keep later. it's been over half a year since i shot so i forgot my general process but i generally try to keep my photos mid-low contrast cuz it hurts me eyes.
Really appreciate the detailed comments. I cropped that image down a bit, so I should have some lateral freedom to re-crop it as per your suggestion. I'll give it a second go when i get home.
