Yeah, some underwater test shots would be nice.
Preferably with water that has the chemical consistency of either pool water or the sea/ocean.
Also preferably with human skin as subject. To study at what distance it can take pictures that still show enough skin details. My guess is 2 meters is already too far.
For the purpose of academic research, undoubtedly !
Gear thread, use it. And learn2Google.
(It's a cheap tough camera. Judging from reviews and sample images it has entry level p&s image quality and performance in rugged package.)
I have one. Will upload some snapshits when I get back to my pc.
Decent little camera for daylight and swimming with. Not good for literally anything else.

I thought I had some more shots laying around. Pool, hot tub, street, river rafting, lake swimming, etc. Can't find any of it.
Either way, the photo quality is not very good in anything but bright daylight. It's waterproof, so you can take it swimming or rafting, but even in clear pool water, with the flash, you won't get underwater photos more than a few feet away.
I would say it's not worth the money. Buy some of those sealed underwater 35mm disposables, and you will probably get better pictures from them.
I had one and it was lost by my parents in two weeks when I loaned it out to them.
I have the Olympus TG-860 now and it has much better image quality. Very very good camera even for a compact.

I bought my gf one of these cameras. Cant remember the exact model but it was an XP ....
Great camera, shots very very good from it, underwater shots were great too, Great little extras like different scenes and a really good panorama mode.
Bought it because every camera she has ever had she breaks.....
This one got robbed
I have a sea and sea motor marine 2, happy with it. really decent camera, glorified point and shoot; you can focus put you cant tell where from the viewfinder. Fucking love it with slide film.

The purpley/magenta-ish one is the best, yellow is okay but steer well clear of the blue and that black and green one
