Why are digital cameras so expensive again?
>>3114765
because they're for people who like photography instead of just people who like film

/p/, starting a new thread because the board has been slow. I'm going to dump a few things i've taken over the past few months that i thought were worthy. spoilers: they aren't.

Is Canon a meme? Their sensors are old enough that Ansel Adams would be able to use them if he were still around and they cost a fortune.

Sensors aren't everything. They have some of the best lenses out there and the best dslr video af.
>>3112964
Canon and Sony are the only people that make their own sensors. Canon's sensors are better by every metric then Sony's
Canon makes new sensors every year. They just put their older ones in the cheap cameras.
Canon's don't cost a fortune. A 7D is the same price as a Panasonic GH4. A 5D is cheaper then a Leica m10, a 1D is a quarter the price of a hasselblad
>>3112972
Fuji and Sigma and Panasonic also make their own sensors. Leica, Hasselblad and Phase have their sensors made bespoke (exclusive to the system), and though Sony builds the Nikon sensors, they are sort of made to measure for the higher tier cameras (microlenses are slightly different that what you get in other systems though the sensor itself may be the same).
Canon and SoNikon have been in a ISO pissing match for years and both make shit sensors with shit colour. They both also produce pretty meh video, Arri and Red are still the only way to be taken seriously there.

Maybe, but here is a useful rundown of what you should do:
1) Google your question
2) Read enough material coming from reputable sources which have differing opinions. Such sources are left up to you to decide - but you'll see google spitting out the same places over and over
3) Once you have collected your research, THEN ask people what their opinion is
4) After constructive discussion, make a judgement call
5) Act.
6) Don't bother with /p/
Post yours

I finally got around to developing some film that's been laying in my fridge for months/years, so I'm going to post a few pictures.
This one is half frame so it came out blurry as shit.

Would the Sony a6000 with kit lens be a good start for a beginner, or is the kit lens fairly bad?
How would a better lens help a beginner?
>>3114040
I won't be buying any more lens for a bit. I'm also concerned with the variety of e-mount lens and cost.
>>3114043
You need quite a bit of training with sony cameras because they are flimsy and their ergonomics is more catered towards talon-handed mutants from outer space than actual humans.
If you want a secure bid, go with a canon 750 or 650.
Is APS-C really that much better than Micro Four Thirds?
APSC blows memecro four turds the fuck out
Are you really that desperate for attention? Neck yourself my man
>>3113888
Yes, and FF is generally better than APS-C.
MF isn't currently *generally* better than FF yet because really the hardware in these isn't overall fast enough, but one day it probably will be.

Fuji dl200. How do I change the battery. The manual says a Fuji repair person has to do it. There's 2 wires attached to the bottom of the battery. No idea how to get them off. It still works but wtf do I do when the battery dies.
>>3113804
You buy the mkii version that lets you change the battery.
Why did you even bother with that semi-disposable peice of trash anyway?
>>3113807
It was $3 at the thrift store. I'm sure you can change it you nigger. If the Cunts at the shop can do it so can I. I assume you just rip the wires off and tape them to the bottom of a new battery?
>>3113810
Do you know how to Google you stupid cunt? The first fucking result is a step by step guide.
I decided to be a fucking hipster last weekend and shot a roll of Lomo 200 slide/xpro in the park to cross-processed it because why the fuck not. Also knocking some garbage gearfag thread out of page 10, you should do it too.

Wow a picture of a fountain. Kys.
So I just received some gear in the mail to start working with Off camera flash.
I'm running into issues getting my Yonguno yn600ex-rt ii to fire with a yn622c trigger. I am only using the 622c has the on camera trigger, and I don't have one on the flash because as far as I was following the 600exii has a radio receiver built in?
Anyone help possibly? Running it on a Canon 5D mk 1 If that makes a difference.
Thanks.
