How come award winning pictures taken by professional photographers are always taken on full frame cameras? Are they really that good?

Just baught pic related.
So, how much did i fuck up /p/?
Never been on this board before, from /g/ originally.
How do i know what films to get? Is there a comparison website?
>>3116045
You did great, no fuck ups. Just read the manual, and take it easy when shooting, learn the basics.
As for film, start with the cheap shit first, so you get the technique down.
How much did you pay for that F-1? In that condition?
>>3116047
360 USD and i also baught a Canon FD 100-200mm F/5.6 to go with it in good but not perfect condition for 40 USD:
The price i guess was a little high but that was the price the local markets was on in my country anyway (expensive to live here). I wanted something really good and found out that the F-1 was a flagship in its time so thats why i went for it.
Been doing alot of reading on shooting, i want to do some cyberpunk night time photography, B/W or colour, does not matter, however im curious to if i need a tripod when using no flash on a 400 ISO film with that 50mm aperture.
>>3116050
*Bought
$360 is a lot, but whatever, F-1 is great.
Yes you do need a tripod, and 400 speed is fine, I would also suggest getting a shutter release cable to minimise shaking.
Also you mean 50 mm focal length, because the 1.4 aperture is fine. 50 mm is kind of tight, but you can make it work.

Last year I bought a Nikon 1 J1 on the recommendation by a friend. Cost me around $100, bit of a starter camera. I was getting into photography as a hobby and it served me well. It took me until last month to decide to buy a tripod. I found one at a Goodwill and brought it home.
It was pretty busted, though still functional. I mounted my camera and took pictures. Worked fine. Today, I was bringing it from my room to another and the mounting piece that attaches the camera to the tripod popped off. My camera tumbled to the ground hitting conveniently placed throw rugs, and it snapped in half.
I was mortified. I know little about photography and less about cameras. I did some research and my bayonet mount ring broke? I read that these on this model are notoriously cheap. Made from plastic and easy to break. So, now I'm looking at repairing a device that I am totally unfamiliar with by using parts that I know nothing about.
My cheapness has caught up to me. Using faulty and busted equipment to hold my camera. I feel like an asshole. Tell me, /p/, is it worth it to spend the $10 on a replacement bayonet mount and attempt to fix it myself? Or, should I use this time to upgrade? Buy a better camera and save myself the hassle. What would you do?
This is my fist time posting. I'm sorry if this doesn't belong. I'm looking for advice. Not necessarily the steps involved in fixing my camera. I'm not made of money. But, I also want a better camera. I feel like such a piece of shit breaking my camera. But, I also feel like it was going to happen eventually.
>>3110044
Replace the part but also look into getting a better point and shoot. I'm also an owner of the nikon j1 and it's pretty flimsy. The build quality is dogshit, made of plastic and so are the lenses. It doesn't take bad pictures, it's just that it doesn't have support for older lenses and you have to get an adapter even for nikon lenses. Save up for a starter dslr kit.
>>3110044
Is this system dead yet?
>>3110063
I'm gonna level with you. I love taking shots of nature. Natural shots, trying to capture energy. But, I mostly use it for lewds. I can't figure how to program the timer and I have to go up to it between every shot I take. I don't have the remote. I bought it used. I've handled one of those cameras you speak of just last month. It was very nice! It had a lot of options and took great pictures. I want something that takes good pictures and videos of me and also outside shots of nature. Do I really need to drop $500+ on a kit to do that? I dream of taking quality shots. Learning more about lighting and composition. I guess I need decent equipment to do that?
>>3110071
I don't know what you mean.

Noob here who only have an old Canon 300D and a Xiaomi Mi4. How to take meaningful photographs?
>>3113196
use the mi 4 for snapshits
get a 50 prime, a 35 prime
and a zoom 70-200 for non snapshits
did you take that? I love it

I wish they would do a Contax G2 revival. It's like with all the other good film cameras - what will happen when they'll break? All of them.
I mean all those mechanical Nikon f-whatevers are here to stay. But it's sad that eventually all the mju 2s and Contax Gs are gonna die.
It's sad that almost nobody produces 35mm film cameras anymore. Only ones that are left are xpan and Leica (?)
Why does this exist? Everyone knows that no one has ever taken a good photo at ISO 800 or with a lens slower than f/2
Because digital noise doesn't correspond to analog grain. Color negatives doesn't even have grain, simply you'll get a correct exposure at that iso as it happens with 400 or 160 or 100 ASA. Also not always the value of a picture comes from sharpness, deep depth of field and correct exposures.

I feel like knocking one of those anti μ 4/3rds troll threads off the board.
I'm not a pro photographer. I have a different job. If I was shooting for a wedding or something more dignified like scat porn or sports, or photo journalism sure I'd use a full frame with one of those f/2.8 zoom lenses. But I am not and you know what? For most of the history of photography we didn't have this 1,000,000,000 point autofocus super sharp glass what ever bullshit.
People took great photos with fast film and f/8. People still take great photos on even this board with point and shoots or lomo. Hell there are billions of photos that more people will look at that were taken on cell phones than any of the shit you have taken.
It doesn't matter what gear you own, the best camera is the one you have with you when you see something that needs a photo taken.
And all the megapixels, lens sharpness, sensor size and what ever bullshit don't mean shit if you aren't able to take a picture of anything interesting.
>And all the megapixels, lens sharpness, sensor size and what ever bullshit don't mean shit if you aren't able to take a picture of anything interesting.
