Starting to get into photography, specifically at conventions. Any tips in getting better? Any relatively low cost gear I should invest in?
Currently have a D90 w/ 35mm and 18 - 55mm lenses.
Pls respond

Nikon 50mm f/1.8D easily. It's around $100, is fast and will give you really nice out of focus backgrounds which is great for the type of photography you're into.

Flashes, get at least 1 flash you can trigger off camera, a soft box, and maybe a light stand.
>>3114873
Oh shit nice, thanks!
Will look into buying one.
>>3114877
I will consider it, it wild feel a bit awkward lugging that stuff around the con tho.

And don't forget, be polite.
what's a cheap, lightweight lens for nikon aps-c for streetscape photos? 35mm is too tight on a crop sensor for me? Don't really need the ultrawide ends too much.
Thinking of:
sigma 17-50mm f2.8 ~$250
tokina 12-24mm f4 ~$250
nikon nikkor 10-20mm f4.5-5.6 VR ~$300
tokina 11-20mm f2.8 ~$500

Go fuck yourself you Nikon artificially gimped camera buying faggot. Get a Sony or just fuck off and stop bringing down the art.
What is the best Polaroid camera that uses Fuji Instax Mini film?
I would like a good Polaroid camera that doesn't use $2 a piece film.
Instax aren't Polaroid cameras, that's like saying Pepsi is Coke. Do your own fucking research and stop clogging up the board with shit gear threads.
>>3114114
You know what I fucking mean.
>>3114113
Just shoot with your phone and buy a non-Fuji portable printer desu. Instax print bleeds when in contact with water.
This may be disrespectful but anyone have any idea what camera was used?
https://www.vice.com/en_us/article/vdpn9j/the-haunting-photography-of-a-serial-killer
My guess is some kind of range finder
You literally can't tell what exact camera he used
>>3117386
See I figured but I also thought it could have been like Polaroid of some kind cause the tones look similar to the ones warhol took.
Also I figured the rounded edges may be something with the camera not a crop choice??
This is the worst troll thread I've seen yet
Should I get a Nikon f5 or a d3200 or a Ricoh grd iii?

Your parents failed to wear a condom and your mother failed to avoid abusing drugs and alcohol when pregnant with you. They again failed raising a decent person and then you went on failing at every aspect of life. That's about it.
>>3117203
nothing
Isn't this camera not a failure?
OK, this is a wild stab in the dark but I'm trying to find this photo from a (relatively) famous photographer and it's driving me crazy. I saw it a few years ago in a magazine article about this photographer (I can't remember his name) who was active prominently during the 70's California skater scene. The photo was of a skater girl with a bloodied broken nose and I'm pretty sure she was either smiling or gnawing her teeth, looking into the lens. It was such a badass photo. Anyone here by chance know it?
Hugh Holland?
>>3117112
That's what I originally thought, but I can't find anything by him that looks similar
>>3117115
Maybe Jim Goodrich or Warren Bolster
Will a smaller sensor still perform well in a studio setting?
I have some studio time booked for tomorrow, and I just broke my favorite lens for my full frame camera. I have a Nikon D3300 from a few years ago, and not much time to go shopping. Is it worth trying to use it?

>>3117032
It literally doesn't even matter, it is the same as a full frame just with the ISO being a stop faster and the lens a stop slower.
At base ISO no one will ever know the difference. The only time full frame really matters is if you have to jack up the ISO
Not sure if there will be any real interest in this but just a heads up.
Hi Everyone!
There’s been lots of requests for Aerochrome 4x5 and 8x10 sheets, so I am doing another cut.
For anyone interested, I’m doing minimum orders of 20 sheets per box.
The 4x5 sheets are USD $15 each.
Shipping is USD $8 Worldwide.

Hey /p/, what's the best (and inexpensive) way to clean lenses, more specifically vintage lenses? I have quite a few that a scored from a garage sale years ago and I'm thinking about selling them to save money for a new camera.

i have bought this Panasonic NV-GS27 camera, what works with miniDV
pls guys help how can i save my vids from camera to my pc in the best quality?
>>3116603
Need to export it off the camera with firewire, to a computer with firewire ports. Older Mac had firewire for a long time but now days you need to get a firewire PCI board to plug into on a PC Motherboard. Firewire was designed to transfer DV video and retains every bit of data that was on the tape.
I'm pretty sure this is a bait/troll thread but whatever.
