I have a riddle for all you /fgt/ers;

Ilford FP4 developed in X-Tol 1+1 in a Jobo at 24 degrees comes out foggy. Other films developed in the same tank comes out fine. All of the films are prewashed well.
FP4 from the same batch is developed in the same chemicals by hand in a Paterson tank at 20 degrees, and comes out fine.

What is going wrong?

But what is water? It's a difficult question, because water is impossible to describe. One might ask the same about birds;

Got this camera for great price, but it's pretty darn dusty and dirty so I could use tips for cleaning.

Get out of here bitch with enough practice he'll probably blow your snapshits out of the water.
OP invest in a camera bag for storage dont get inside the sensor to clean it unless youre really comfortable your not gonna fuck it up. Clean the outside with ear cleaners for dust or a can of compressed air. Always wipe your lenses every time you shoot with a lens cloth and take it with you every time you bring the camera with you and have fun shooting brudda
>>
>>3113524
Hearing a lot of criticism and no advice, means you dont have any and just want to whine about something.
Like I said, this is my first camera and it was fucking cheap son. Woulda been dumb not to buy it.

Back on track, would an anti-static cloth to clean the mirror be alright? When cleaning mirrors I usually have to use some liquid.

Is it completely blown out, as in clipped into white? If it is, you can't bring that back, and this is a learning experience.

don't shoot in the middle of the day. the golden hours aren't just a meme, use them

>or just crush tf out of your blacks by underexposing

So, a couple of weeks ago I went on a 10 day photography roadtrip. Started in the Netherlands, crossed Germany twice and went through all of Poland. I prepared by looking up interesting (abandoned) places and while on the go I determined what places were closeby. So I basically visited 20% of all prepared places.

Have you guys done anything like a photography roadtrip? Alone or with friends? How much gear? How do you look up interesting points?

Whoops just read of the max image size, resized 'm all.

So yeah, visited a lot of abandoned bunkers, and some places where they had some seriously old steam engines. They still have loads of 'm in Poland.
>>
This was near an abandoned city. had to wak over a train-bridge in order to get there. They blew the bridge up hehe. Didn't check if trains were still going but I was pretty sure they weren't anymore.

Quick question, just changed bodies from a 40D to a 7D and noticed a dramatic color shift moving oranges/browns towards yellow, """""wood""""" in particular seems yellower than irl. Is this just due to a different IR filter or something? I can mimic the 40D with hue sliders in LR but it's bugging me a lot that I should have to.

40D left, 7D right in pic.
All camera settings, Lightroom settings and equipment are identical but white balance, which is corrected on 80% gray for each camera. With identical white balance, the 7D is even more yellow.

tl;dr Problem or shut up and shoot?

but yeah, you could really shoot a fucking meme format if you wanna lose resolution and upscalability

I don't care about resolution or... what is upscalability? I'm not printing billboards.

Any film recommendations?
>>
>>3122730
1. take a picture with a film camera.
2. take a picture of that picture with the same film camera.
3. repeat until desired amount of grain is visible

Hey folks, i am planning on doing my website this week end and would like some advices or examples of good/bad ones. Also if you know which service i should use free or paid.

It would be a simple portfolio only to display photos for clients.

So some things I've noticed with photography websites is that they tend to fundamentally misunderstand some things about web design and end up overdesigning or underdesigning them.

DON'T:
>Overuse Javascript
This includes making imgur-style photo albums. Try to avoid using it at all.

>Throw 800 images of varying resolutions on the same page
Sometimes people will put a lot of work into one giant page. Don't do that. It will take like a decade to load. Use thumbnails, use multiple pages. Separate your work based on what you think will display it nicely.

>Use badly fitting background images
The one you posted? Really good because it can be easily fitted into any screen size. That can be resized onto a phone screen really easily and not cause problems.

Don't do something with like a persistent sidebar and not have a mobile version that clean that up.

DO:
>Think about mobile users
There are a lot of them. Think of them and make sure the site is usable on a mobile device.

>Think "is this site easily navigable"?
If a user can't find out your contact information/rates/etc easily, guess what they're not going to do? I mean some still will but so often friction will take users out of the equation.

>Make sure it looks professional, but still approachable.
You want to look like a one man act, not a studio (unless you are actually a studio).

THINK ABOUT:
>Releasing fullsize/thumbnail images
This all depends on your copyright. Obviously don't put fullsize, non-watermarked images front and center, or even in background images. People will download and use them, copyright be damned.

Of course if you don't really care about certain picture's copyright status, put them there by all means. Consider watermarks, etc.

>Colors and general look
Flat is IN right now. You'll notice the example you had had a lot of "flat" elements, and it looks good. Avoid gradients. Make sure your background image doesn't clash with your color choices.

Good luck on your website!

fpbp, not even OP but you are fighting the good fight!

tried all the big services, ended up with Format. it was the only one with a good looking dark theme. also just werks for mobile.

Can we talk photo projects?
I've been photographing for a couple of years now and I think it's time I took on an actual themed project.
However I'm really struggling to find a good theme to make the project around.... So far I'm thinking either multistorey car parks (dull as shit) or garden centres, florists and general plants in man made environments.
What have you done photo projects on?

all those ideas you listed are very much in the vein of "trying too hard to think of an idea for a photo project"

you're only going to come up with contrived or cliche ideas if you're actively trying to think of something.

I would say wait until you have an idea strike you or until you start to notice a natural theme emerge in your photography habits as far as what you are interested in subject wise and that type of thing.

you can not force inspiration.

sorry if my english isn't good
>>
A guy I know did a great project on man made animal habitats in zoos and it's fantastic. The emptiness of the habitats produce a very distinctive theme.

I see what you mean but currenty I'm shooting street photography whenever I shoot and it's getting a bit samey. There hasn't been any theme emerge aside from street photography itself which is too broad.

So to those people that use Ebay on a regular basis, what do you look for? How do you go about buying and selling? Any useful snipe tools? Any good shilling tactics? Do people buy international goods?

I personally use Gixen, and to sell I usually start my bid at 99p to get people interested. If I'm too much of a pussy and start with a high start price I've noticed I get barely any interest, meanwhile if I start low, I usually sell for way beyond the original starting price I had.

Also, I cringe when I see shit like "near mint", "unboxed, used, hood missing, but in MINT condition". If the one thing Japs have is the mint condition definitions, they don't fuck around.

Any stories? Recent buying / selling?

Let's go.
