Thing is, I already have an 18-135 so every time I put on the 50mm, I just sort of get confused and then go back to the zoom.

the 50 mm is faster with better optics than your zoom at 50. it is a nice cheap portrait lens on crop. that said, 35mm is more versatile for most people

Ordered this in the mail, What am I in for? Ive dabbled with dslrs in the past but always ended up selling them because I didn't feel inspired to shoot with.
