>tfw sister bought me this camera

She went to Singapore and I specifically told her to get me a Sony a6500 or a Fujifilm XT-20. Her only excuse is that she lacks the budget but I told her that this camera is more expensive and she said it looks "cute".

What the fuck /p/. I was memed hard. How much can I resell this?

this is a 10x better camera than sony a6500
>>
>>3134463
Since the A6500 is mirrorless (I think), and the Fujifilm XT-20 not, and they both cost $1500 aproximately (I did the calculation based on MXN to USD) and this only costed her $350 is actually a quite economical price.
>>3134466
>What's wrong with it?
Nothing, it's a good camera and if you're planning to sell it, don't use it, but if you want to give it a try, just do it.
>>she said it looks "cute".
Anyway, you could have told her other cheaper options, and maybe that cameras aren't measured by it's cuteness. Still good luck! I would buy it
If I had the budget to pay you
What is the best set of older manual focus lenses that are great quality and affordable?

I sold my AF lenses and want to pick up an adapter and some bargain (but great quality) older lenses.

I want them to be all the same brand as I only want to buy one high quality adapter and not several different ones.

Nikkors seem nice but overpriced, I am thinking maybe older Olympus or Pentax glass. Keen to get other opinions though.

I only want a few primes.

m-mount

While manual focus lenses, they can actually autofocus with the proper adapter.
>>
K-mount.

Not only are they cheap, they're also the best manual glass ever made.

I have no excuses for not finishing this back in July other than procrastination. Also lightroom is hideous of this. Whenever you change anything about sizing it fucks all of your formatting hopelessly.

I just got it 2 weeks ago as my first digital in a long time. Got gr2 I like it a lot as a companion to my film compact. I think if you want to just get the gr1 because it's cheaper. Snap focus is hilarious for street shooting even though I don't really do it. It's lightning fast. You can take a picture before anyone even realizes what's in your hand.

STICKY - https://pastebin.com/VPXjjKqq
Here we discuss techniques, gear and anything else related to capturing video footage. Please don't pretend to be an expert if you don't know what you're talking about. Kindly leave your ego at the door.
Posting short films or other work you've done is encouraged.

We tend to use and recommend DSLRs/mirrorless cameras because they provide phenomenal picture quality for their price, have large sensors (ie the same size used in high-end cinema cameras and higher) and have interchangeable lenses.
In contrast, consumer camcorders normally have much smaller sensors and a fixed lens.

>READ THE STICKY IF YOU'RE NEW, BEFORE ASKING SOME FUCKING STUPID QUESTION THAT’S BEEN ANSWERED A HUNDRED TIMES
>IF YOU ASK A QUESTION THAT THE STICKY ANSWERS, DON'T BE SURPRISED IF WE TELL YOU TO FUCK OFF
>IF YOU ASK A DUMBASS QUESTION AND PRETEND TO BE A "PRO", WE WILL TELL YOU TO GO FUCK YOURSELF
>THIS ALSO APPLIES IF YOU THINK INSULTING US WILL GET YOU AN ANSWER

>finally ready to move on from making short films with my friends to hiring actors and being "professional"
>set up a company
>find out I need insurance - no biggie
>have 2 companies I need to talk to again after talking to both of them today, a form I need to fill out and who knows what else administration crap
>all before I can even hire any fucking actors!
Christ, just kill me. I just want to make films without compromising myself or sucking up to some dickhead. Why are there so many hurdles!?
I swear this is all in place to stop just ((anyone)) making films.
>>
>>3121767
If 2 phonecalls and a form are stopping you you might not be ready for proper projects my man.

60-70 percent of filmmaking is either preproduction, planning, or figuring out licences. The actual shoots are a piece of cake once you actully know what you're doing.
>>
>>3121772
This is it though, I want to write and direct and edit films. I want to make films. I don't want to run a business but I basically have to just to be able to do so for legal reasons. It's fucking frustrating is all

I hate photocomposites and photo manipulation. They dilute the potency of the medium. The only thing that gives photography any real value as a form of art: believability. People believe in the reality of photographs, but not in the reality of paintings. That gives photographers an enormous advantage to speak on the nature of reality, perspective, and perception, due to the incongruence between how we see the world and what we can capture on camera, combined with our faith in the medium as an objective witness. The minute we remove believability is the moment we lose anything that makes photography interesting, otherwise you might as well be a painter.

I totally agree with you this sort of photography is trashy and lame yet if a surrealist artist did a similar painting to this I'd enjoy the piece way more.

I think illusions in photography can be cool, because it points at the nature of the medium itself. I have no problem with conceptual photography, surreal photography, staged photography, etc. This image is none of these things. This image is a digital illustration.

tl;dr, I like photographs of the impossible, but I can't stand impossible photographs.

wow you have autism

"reality of photographs" my ass. if you think anything other than personal observation even comes close to objective reality, you're retarded. if you think objective reality should be some sort of ideal in art, you're pathetic. if you think there is any such thing existing that can serve as an "objective witness", you are autistic.

I can't believe some shithead typed all this out. is this what people go to art school for? just to learn to articulate their shitty ideas in the most pretentious way possible?
