How much is your 'main' camera equipment worth?
Speak only in the amount you've spent. So if it was bought second hand then that is the price you will add to your total.
Only mention your camera body and lenses.
List your body and different lenses. LETS GO
Fuji x-pro 2 used for $1000
23mm f/1.4 used for $450
Got my fuji kit lens with my x-e1 for $699 years ago.
So total like $2150

Why does no body talk about this thing, the few reviews I've seen of it say its pretty good other than its portability.
I was considering getting one of these in place of a 4x5 field camera. I did not because it is the same weight/hassle as 4x5. Unless you are using the movements for macro/portrait work they are not very useful as the controls are incredibly limited or not available at infinity/far away focusing distances. The movements are difficult to fine tune using the WLF or prism compared to using a loupe on a 4x5 ground glass.
>>2997855
>The movements are difficult to fine tune using the WLF or prism compared to using a loupe on a 4x5 ground glass.
This is true
>movements for macro/portrait work they are not very useful as the controls are incredibly limited or not available at infinity/far away focusing distances.
This is not true. I have the standard "stiff" bellows, and they allow me full movements with the 100mm at infinity. There are soft wide angle bellows that makes this easier.
>>2997855
I would not want one of these to get rained on.
I would not want to try and find batteries for this outside of New York or Tokyo.
I wouldn't use the meter ever.
I'm sure the lenses are fucking sublime, and that when it's working, and with full suite of accessories, it's an absolute joy to shoot.
But for the money you save buying the bigger, more versatile, more portable, more durable 4x5, you can keep yourself in sheet film for a good while.

Anyone else having trouble loading images on 4chan recently? It seems super slow compared to literally every other website. Makes browsing image dumps a pain.

Not strictly photography related, but I figured I'd get a better answer here than /sci/
If you normally wear prescription glasses, is the extent to which your vision is impaired without glasses about the same as that of someone with perfect vision using your glasses?
Can someone explain this from an optics approach?
>Bonus question: most glasses lenses are made out of plastic, so why can't good camera lenses be made out of plastic?
>>3001636
Your premise sounds like it could be the case but I don't know enough to say for certain whether or not you're correct. It is an interesting question.
I can shed some light on your bonus question though. Camera lenses can indeed be made of plastic! Good ones even! Although most high-end lens makers only use "optical resin" for smaller elements inside telephoto lenses to correct for chromatic aberrations. They can actually be really expensive, more so than the glass elements in some cases. Plastic doesn't make a good front element though because it can be scratched and pitted easily. I could be wrong but I also think glass is easier and cheaper to get "optically perfect" for use in a camera lens. Your glasses lenses are just one lens and pretty specific to you, not a mass manufactured lens for a popular camera system.
>>3001657
Thanks
If you have good vision and you put a lens in front of your eye then it would impair your vision in the opposite direction. So wearing a negative power lens made for correcting nearsightedness would effectively make you farsighted.
I live in a place where everything's ugly, so I've been trying to get better at photographing the ugly and mundane. Besides, its easy to take pictures of the pretty stuff.
I'm sure some anons can relate. Show me your beautiful trash cans and sludge puddles. I'll start with a couple-- c&c appreciated.

This is really interesting, the way the blue light from the sky mixes with the artificial one creates a very intriguing atmosphere. Personally I would have framed it a little bit wider on the left and shot it later with only the artificial light on, thus rendering it more cliche. The way you made it makes it stand out in my opinion, good job!
